We did a gap assessment today. It was humbling.

A gap assessment is exactly what it sounds like: you go through every major flow in your product and ask “does this work, end to end, the way a real user would experience it?” And you write down everything that doesn't.

We found six critical gaps — things that have to be fixed before anyone outside the team touches this product. Not nice-to-haves. Non-negotiables. We're calling them P0 items, and clearing all six is what stands between us and a real Alpha.

We're not sharing the specifics because some of them are things we'd rather fix than announce. But the exercise was valuable. It turns out “the prototype is working” and “the prototype is ready for users” are two very different things.

We also engaged our lawyer today. Entity formation, IP assignment, employee and contractor agreements — the scaffolding that lets you build fast without creating problems for yourself later. Not glamorous. Necessary.

Some days you build. Some days you clear the path for building. Today was path-clearing.
