2 weeks after our initial launch, we’ve had over 100 sign-ups for Kbee!
While we’re super excited by this number, we’re disappointed to note that a majority of folks haven’t created any new articles in their knowledge base.
We’ve had about five users create and use their Kbee instances properly for a variety of difference use cases. We also were able to gather feedback about our pricing model and product roadmap.
When we initially launched, we intended to give the first 25 users of Kbee free access. What we’ve seen is that a small percentage of folks who sign up are willing to provide feedback whether by jumping on a call with us or by joining our Slack group.
We’re rolling out a new onboarding checklist within our product to try and solve for getting folks to do more with Kbee. Wondering if anyone has any feedback or ideas for how to increase our engagement metrics and have users actually use the product. How would you do it?
Thanks!
I think is time to start the very intense process of contacting each and every one of the 100, and onboard them step-by-step until they're using the tool fully. Email first, phone if they don't reply :)
That will show you what you can improve with the onboarding for the next 100.
The tool looks great! I have my doubts about the pricing, but that's surely something that you can experiment with time.
Thanks for the advice! Definitely going to start reaching out to each one individually now!
Btw, appreciate the feedback about our pricing. We just updated our pricing page. Would love to get your feedback on it!
Sure thing!
I like it better now that you offer a middle option. I'd argue you can charge more than $12 for it.

Awesome - one suggestion I have is to set-up from the start a central repository for all of your customer feedback. This could be something a simple as a Google Sheet shared with your co-founder or you could opt for a dedicated tool like Noora - we even have a special bootstrapped price of $9/month.
With a dedicated tool you'll also be able to:
The key with feedback from your customers is not to say yes to every request. You should instead build up a repository of feedback and identify trends. This is why it can be really valuable to collect everything in one place, so that after 1-2 months you can see if there are trends.
I'm happy to share examples on a short call with anyone of how we work internally with feedback too if anyone wants some inspiration.
Hi Sai Arora!
First of all, Congrats on the successful launch and gaining initial 100 users. Before looking at how to increase engagement, you need to analyze who these 100 users are? Are they your specific target audience, where did you acquire them from?
To increase engagement, you need to have a proper onboarding journey. Once they are registered, send them a detailed welcome email with a video walkthrough of your product. If you can segment your non-active users, then send them a follow-up by inviting them to have a one-on-one demo session with you.
The next follow-up should be asking them politely what's stopping them from using this.
For those users who are actually using the app, make it easy for them to provide feedback. Don't expect them to join your Slack channel alone, give them multiple options, so that they can provide feedback at their convenience.
Try to reward those who provide valuable feedback. Hope this helps.
A few quick things you could try:
I am happy to help if you have any questions or need someone to help you get started!
An idea that isn't exactly scalable but could be very good for your first batch of customers an upping the engagement.
Try sending them a personalized video within a day or two of them signing up.
Can just be 60 seconds, use their name, introduce yourself and let them know you're excited they signed up and you're available for any support they need or questions they have.
Pretty sure Loom has a free account that you can use for this.
Cheers,
Jordan
