The feedback came from Kim — who's been helping us with brand and visual identity. We showed her a video we'd been developing to explain Skoolit. Her response: "I immediately knew it was AI."
That's the wrong response. If a parent watching our video is thinking about the production method instead of the problem being solved, we've failed at the video.
So we're pivoting. The Skoolit story is a real story about real parents. The people who should tell it are real people — specifically, the kinds of parents we're building for. Not AI voiceover. Not polished corporate narration. Real humans, authentic voices, genuine frustration with the problem and genuine relief at the solution.
It sounds obvious in retrospect. But it's a meaningful change to how we'll approach video content. We're now designing around authentic, human, female-led storytelling — because the primary user we're building for is a working mom who trusts recommendations from people who look and sound like her.
The product has to be good. The story has to be human.
More to come. Watch the story unfold at getskoolit.com.
