We just launched a privacy-first personal data hub - looking for honest feedback
Hi everyone,
After months of building, testing and improving, we launched SynDiary Version 1.0 this week for iOS and Android.
The idea behind SynDiary came from something we kept noticing: our personal data is scattered everywhere.
Our calendars contain our events. Social media holds years of memories. Our phones contain photos and recordings. Notes live in different apps. Yet there is rarely one private place where we can bring this information together, organize it, and actually use it for ourselves.
That is what we are trying to build with SynDiary - a private personal data hub.
Version 1.0 currently lets users bring together things such as:
• basic and structured entries
• calendar events
• photos and media
• audio recordings with multilingual speech-to-text
• people and personal entities
• Instagram and Facebook archive data
Privacy is a core part of the product. SynDiary is designed to be local-first, with users keeping control of their own data. AI is optional and can run locally on supported devices.
We are still at the very beginning, and right now feedback is more valuable to us than promotion.

When you hear “private personal data hub,” is it immediately clear what the product is?

The local-first approach is the strongest part, especially for a product aggregating such personal information. “Private personal data hub” is understandable, but I’d be curious whether users immediately understand what they can actually do with all that data once it’s brought together.

Local-first and privacy are the foundation, but the real value comes from what becomes possible once your personal data is brought together and structured. Most people have years of data spread across calendars, social media, photos, notes, recordings and other services, but it’s difficult to actually use it for themselves. With SynDiary, we want to make that journey understandable step by step: first collect and protect your data, then organize and connect it, and gradually make it searchable, understandable and useful in your own interests. We’ll be showing much more of these practical use cases as we go.
