We just launched accidentally 🤦🏻‍♀️ on Product Hunt

Last weekend I was part of a no-code hackathon (On Deck's Global Build Weekend) and our team created an MVP virtual coworking app for remote workers using Bubble. We got into the finals and I set up a Product Hunt launch while I was in the middle of all that hackathon hype.

Come the Monday after working 30 hours over 2 days and being completely exhausted, we decided to postpone the launch until we had some time to recharge and review. I postponed the launch to the next week because Product Hunt doesn't have a pause button and I didn't want to delete everything I had written and set up.

Then I completely forgot about it... until I got a notification this evening congratulating us for launching on Product Hunt. 🙀

We had no launch plan or thoughts on how to promote it, but to be honest, I'm kinda relieved. It was actually also my first Product Hunt launch. There's so much expectation around Product Hunt launches that it's very possible that we might never have done it.

Now I'm glad we've got what we made out in the world (even if it was by complete accident!). It's definitely on the minimum side of MVP but we built it to address a need that we felt for more social connection to help our mood and help us be more productive while working from home and I'm really proud of what we were able to accomplish in such a short time.

It's a good reminder to stop overthinking things and just launch!

Here's the Product Hunt post if you'd like to check out Watercoolr (that's what we're calling it): https://www.producthunt.com/posts/watercoolr - I would love to get your feedback!

      Good luck! A good reminder not to take the PH launch too seriously! :)

        Thanks heaps! It definitely helped make PH launching feel less of such a BIG scary thing.

    Congrats on the launch! Sometimes it's just best to GO! I had a client once hold onto a site for a year because they were ever tweaking XD

      Thanks! That is so true - your client could totally have been me... I'm really glad I discovered the bip community, it's really helped me get past perpetual tweaking.

    haha congrats! What type of No Code software did you use to build it?

      @Joy2003 is right - it's Bubble!

    Congrats on the accidental launch! Looks like you're doing well on PH despite no launch strategy. Well done :)

      Haha thanks! Yes, we somehow ended 8th on the day and got in the newsletter so 🤷🏻‍♀️ To be honest, I don't think we would have done better if it had been planned.

      Thanks! Oh my yes, I can totally see how I could have spent so much time researching the best way to launch and then configuring the 'best' strategy and changing my mind a million times. My mistake was such a time saver!
