As a technical founder, all of the marketing/sales/advertising of a product feels like pulling teeth. It just doesn't come naturally to me and I have a lot to learn. That being said, I have always been interested in the nuances of business and getting a product to sell. This causes me to force myself into these business exercises in an attempt to grow and refine my skillset.
The AppSumo application process was a really fun but very exhausting exercise in marketing peer.haus. I started the application and realized I had no images, no design standards, and no real formula for coming up with these things. I spent the whole day just focused on the application and coming up with templates that fit the brand.
The end result is the listing.
I was nervous when submitting the application as I've never had a product be approved for AppSumo. When I saw their team signing up for peer.haus, emailing me with questions, and seemingly interested, I still brushed it off as me getting my hopes high.
When the email came in saying that peer.haus had been approved, all of that spent energy came rushing back in. I suddenly realized there is so much left to do.
Now that it's approved and launching soon, the real business exercise begins π
