Skoolit will not have a free tier at launch.
When you try Skoolit, you'll start a free trial — and you'll need to put in a credit card to do it. No “free forever, pay later.” We're asking for real commitment from day one.
This isn't about the money. It's about signal quality. Free users behave differently than users who've made even a small financial commitment. We need the feedback we get in Alpha and Beta to come from people who are genuinely invested in making Skoolit work for them. Free tiers attract curiosity; paid trials attract intent. We need intent.
We also cleared two important regulatory questions today. FERPA and COPPA — the federal laws governing student data and children's privacy — are not blockers for what Skoolit does at the parent-consumer level. We've confirmed the legal landscape. It's clear.
And PRD v1.6 is complete. The spec that Andrew will build against is locked.
Product. Legal. Pricing. Three lanes advancing in parallel.
