We Made a Web App Builder. Why Did It Turn Into a Retro Arcade?

Hey Indie Hackers,

We recently made a product that lets anyone build web apps super fast with natural language—landing pages, dashboards, and even games.

What we didn’t expect? People are using it to recreate retro classics!

Someone even made a shockingly accurate Windows 98 clone. It’s so good, I half-expected Clippy to pop up and offer help. 😂

Users seem to get really into the process of iterating on their creations. The fun is real, but so are the tokens. Once we started charging, enthusiasm took a hit.

Now we’re scratching our heads: should we lean into the retro game vibes? Focus on app builders? Or do something else entirely?

Would love to hear your thoughts—or just come try it out and let us know what you’d build! 👇
