We’re building 52 startups in 52 weeks. Everyone said it was impossible.

I knew the idea was a little wild when even my most supportive entrepenural friends winced.

“52 startups in 52 weeks?”
“That’s impossible.”
“You’ll burn out.”
“You are going to die”

I heard it from everyone, marketers, developers, even past cofounders.

But here’s the problem:
I didn’t believe them. And neither did Nick.

After the success of my previous startup, Jobsolv, with 30k+ users ($0 paid marketing), I decided to take on a technical cofounder to help me productize faster. Nick Spreen is a talented iOS developer I met on YC’s cofounder matching platform. Within 10 minutes of talking, we realized we had the same issues:

We both wanted to ship faster than anyone said we should.

So we made a pact:

One new app every week.

52 weeks.
No excuses.**

We didn’t overthink it. We didn’t draw a massive roadmap.
We just agreed to show up, build, launch, repeat.

Week after week.

People around us said:

“No way you can build that fast.”

“This isn’t realistic.”

“Why not slow down?”

We laughed, said “we’ll figure it out,” and kept going.

Two delusional founders with too much energy and not enough fear.
Honestly? Kind of perfect.

Week 1: https:www.appscreenshotkit.com

One of the first ideas we tackled came from a simple pain that almost every iOS developer has felt:

App Store screenshots suck to make.

It takes forever.
You need Figma templates.
Apple rejects things because of one tiny pixel.
It ruins your day.

So we built something that kills that entire workflow:

👉 App Screenshot Kit
https://app.appscreenshotkit.com/editor

It turns raw iPhone screenshots into clean, pixel-perfect App Store images in a few seconds.

No design tools.
No templates.
No “why is Apple rejecting this again” meltdown.

Nick even recorded a short video walking through the whole thing: https://youtu.be/UnkHflYzwak?si=_WcF9ykskRyLH8Sb

It’s simple, fast, and saves hours. Exactly the kind of tool we love to build.

Why we’re doing 52 apps in the first place

We’re not trying to build the next unicorn overnight.
We’re trying to:

get better at shipping

get real feedback from real users

test more ideas in a year than most people do in five

find small tools with real demand

charge early, learn early, fix early

Every week is a new shot on goal.

Some apps will flop.
Some will take off.
Some will surprise us.
All of them will teach us something.

Why the “impossible” part matters

The best part of this whole challenge is watching people’s faces when we tell them the plan.

Some think we’re joking.
Some think we’re crazy.
Some think we’ll disappear in month three.

Maybe they’re right.
But maybe they’re wrong.

And honestly, the only way to find out is to build until the wheels fall off.

If you’re curious, follow along

If you're the kind of person who likes:

new tools

raw builds

scrappy launches

early prototypes

founders doing weird things

I’d love your feedback on Week X’s build:

And if you’re thinking about doing your own crazy challenge this year, here’s my honest take:

Start before you feel ready.

Ship before you feel safe.
Learn faster than you think you can.

The rest is just noise.
