We spent $10,000 on Product Hunt. Here are the results

Hey folks,

Our Product Hunt campaign for Terra did well, once we posted for the first time, so we decided to do a paid marketing campaign with them.

To help the fellow Indie Hackers, I'm posting the results here.

Spent: $10,000
Total Impressions: 182,147
Total Clicks: 2,042
CPM: $55
Running CTR: 1.1%

I'm attaching the impressions per day too

Did anybody signup, and if so how many people did you convert in total? What is the expected lifetime value for those folks? I mean do you think it was worth it?

It would be very difficult to be exact on the ROI. I'm currently estimating that our ROI is ~20% of the amount paid.

If I compare the product launch we had, vs the ads, the first was far superior.

If your CPM was 55$, what was your conversion rate and CAC?

I havent compiled them yet, I will repost once we do!

Yeah, I do think the metrics most of us would care about would be:

        1. CAC. Cost per customer acquired.
        2. MRR acquired

And then later, the LTV of those customers, since a large percentage of API customers need the API only to demonstrate something, such as in pitches.

Thank you for sharing, don't hesitate to let us know your conversione rate, it's also very insightful

I was planning to go for ph ads with my product and this actually made me certain it is not worth it

    1. 1

Yes - it seems like it's very expensive

Thanks for sharing. What would you estimate your ROI at with 10k in ad spend?

Thanks for the stats but would be helpful if you mentioned how many conversions you got...
