I'm always wondering what the incentive is to go away from big authentication services to something that's entirely passwordless as a service? What's the incentive?
To me, it seems there's gonna be one of two winners in the 'passwordless' fight. Big tech (Sign in With Apple) that have access to biometrics or password managers. Thoughts about that?
Tbh I thought the same, that surely password managers would be the solution but when I asked people if they used password managers, most of them said no… And that’s when I realized that only 15/20% of people know about password managers. If you asked outside your core circle, how many of our friends or family actually use them? You’d be surprise to learn that it’s only a handful of people. Also, password managers requires you to remember master passwords & then you also need it synced over devices.
& for things like ‘Sign In with Apple’ here we need to depend on the end users being with such a provider. Social-Sign-In is great for end users but businesses having to provide Google, Facebook, Apple, or Microsoft just becomes a nightmare. Their sign up forms get very crowded & providing users with multiple choices leave them confused.
Hence, we feel that there needs to be an agnostic solution. Regardless of your email provider, you should be able to sign in passwordless.

How's the progress going? Was going through my post history and was curious.
Hey! The progress has been good so far. We started our close beta in mid-Jan and since then we onboarded 5 businesses using our APIs (quite a slow process, wont lie...).
Funny thing is, they used our APIs in ways we didnt even imagine and helped us expand our product 😅
These are two new ways of using our product and if it wasn't for the beta users we wouldn't even know it could be done
But right now we are planning to open it to more users, so just trying to figure out what would be the best way to onboard more customers and have them using our apis.
