We would love to get feedback on our MVP! ๐Ÿš€

The day has finally come and we are ready to launch our MVP for a product that we are really passionate about.

Do you just want to visit our MVP landing page to save some time and try it out for free, then go visit it here: www.tapely.io

If you want a bit of a background story, then continue to read..

How it all started

Like many others here, we have a true passion for tech and especially SaaS products. We both work full-time in companies that we really like, but we also wanted to try out new stuff on the side, to challenge ourselves and see if we can build a Micro-SaaS as we want it to be.

We are friends from way back and coincidentally one of us became a Developer and the other a UX/UI designer. A perfect match, since we have the different skills needed, but also have an easy time talking about expectations and amount of time we want to use on the project.

4th of December 2022

After a few meetings, we decided on trying to build a SaaS around YouTubers and their workflow. We had a lot of great ideas, but the main reason for the start of this project was to build something fun. Afterward, we can then validate it, and see how we can adapt it, to then actually make it into a YouTube-focused product. So we have ended up with a thumbnail builder.

On the 4th of December 2022, we made a description of the MVP (which has since then been edited a bit). These are the notes from that day:

MVP

Canvas where you can drag & drop elements

  • You just need to be able to go to the canvas and export the file as a start
  • You need to be able to autosave, but not to create more files. You have the canvas to work in and that's it
  • Name the thumbnail (exported file name)

Elements for the builder

  • Text element
  • Image
  • Objects

Layer panel

  • Only be able to move them forward or back within a layer panel

A bare minimum version of where we want to go, but you can achieve a lot of things with it, even though it can't do that much. But where do we actually want the product to go?

The future of the product

We want to test it with people who are actually making thumbnails, whether that being the YouTuber or a thumbnail designer that is hired for the job. They know what are the most frustrating parts of the process and we want to help them with our product.

Therefore we also ask the Early Adopters to help us answer a few questions, and give them the possibility to propose new features. After that, we will sit down and talk about what the next feature should be, which will actually help the target group, but also make us different from some of the large competitors.

We do have some ideas ourselves, but we won't promise anything and this product is not made for us, but for the people working with YouTube. Therefore the product is now put into the Users' hands as it should be.

Long story short

If you have time and want to help, then try out our MVP by proposing features and filling out our questionnaire. If you end up filling it out you will also receive a gift from us as a thank you.

Try it out here: www.tapely.io

P.S: If you have an MVP that you want us to try it, don't hesitate to put it in the comment section or send me a message. We would love to help the other way around as well! Let's help each other with making products that makes a difference for the target group we are helping.
