Hey everyone!
I'm building up a web development & design business, and struggling to find which niche to focus on.
This led me to the idea of having the niche be early startups and online businesses.
I've noticed that there are a lot of great products & startups out there, that are sitting behind some poorly designed frontend and landing pages. The product itself is good, but that doesn't matter if the frontend doesn't convey it's message to potential customers.
My question for you guys is, is this a viable niche to focus on? Startups & online businesses, struggling to get new customers, gain new leads, and convey their message through their frontend.
Cheers!
As someone who hires remote developers, web development and design is very competitive, and most "startups" don't have a lot of investment capital. Its hard to find good developers who are cheap the good ones get long term jobs making $30-60 an hour very fast and are not on the market anymore.
What is really hard to find though, and what I am looking for, is POST MFP (minimal functional prototype) development, finding a Business analyst and marketer whose payment can be tied to growth metrics. To do things such as: Get engagement on reddit, post of PH and HN, SEO optimization, test PMF, provide metrics around where engagement is strong, and where product needs work.
If anyone knows anyone that provides this service at a reasonable rates let me know, highly interested.

Hi,

Here is our process https://bananacode.co/capabilities/ our ideal clients are startups looking to develop a new product and bring it to market or existing businesses looking to launch/revamp a product and looking for a partner that can walk with them every step of the way.
Feel free to get in contact with me and we can discuss your needs cporras@bananacode.co
If I already have a build product, and just want to do organic targeted marketing and growth do you guys provide this service? If so how much does it cost and how do you structure your compensation to be tied with the products growth?
Yes, we can do that!
It's hard to define a price without really knowing what you are looking for.
Please if you can send me an email, cporras@bananacode.co, I can give you a better idea of how we can work together.
That is a gorgeous website!
So do you guys basically find the right people IE backend & frontend engineers, marketers, for your startup clients?
We have an internal team that we work with, if our clients have a very specific need we go and find an expert in the field to help them.
I don’t know, it seems to me that the market is already so crowded and if you don’t have clients ready, then it doesn’t make much sense
To me, I think a web design business can yield a steady income. According to Salary.com, a web designer in the US can earn from $58,000-$72,000 annually on average.
You can hire a small software developer team from Designveloper. That is the best software development company in Vietnam for many awesome ui ux design services and outsourcing software development.
Did you go on with this idea? I'm really interested. There are two parts to your vision, firstly it's super altruistic and ingenious which would be of good use for said start-ups, but on the other hand, I would say some of the websites that you saw are so bad because there's a limited budget they can offer, which in the long run is not going to profit you in the slightest. Personally, when I started my online business a few years ago, the idea of getting someone to do the site interface for me, was pretty much just a distant dream. I had no knowledge in the domain, I had no friends that were free to take on my project, and obviously no money in the bank. The only thing I could afford was getting a few lessons from a web design teacher from here https://westrank.ru/webdesign In the end this proved to be an amazing investition, not only for the business but for me personally and I've already recommended it to a few people. Maybe you could focus on continuing in this direction somehow.
I view web design as a form of marketing and I've worked with a web design company before. It seems to me that start ups weren't a good niche for us because startups didn't have money most of the time. I prefer to work with established businesses. I know that there are some well funded startups, but most don't have much money.
I've thought about this a lot recently. A couple of big hurdles I've noticed after working as a designer in a startup. Cost is a big deal, dollar and cents are huge for small startups and too often design is an afterthought. A couple of ways you could combat this is revenue share agreements or scaling pricing with a contract. I also think this business model could be exhaustive for the designer(s). Having to start from almost scratch with every client could be either freeing or life-sucking, I suppose it depends on the designer.
