Webcam-based identity provider - would you use it in your app?

We're building a next-gen identity provider - https://go.getentry.com/indie. It uses a webcam to authenticate users and greatly streamlines login and signup processes. The app is secure and will not allow photo, video, etc. logins. Also no more forgotten passwords or duplicated users etc.
We've been using it inside the team for the last year and I really enjoy the flow - I feel much better without a need to constantly enter passwords trying to check my email, view tasks, talk in the zoom, etc.
And we want more people to enjoy a secure passwordless present and future.

What are your overall thoughts about such a user authentication way?

I am a little confused about the difference between Entry and Apple's FaceID? Or are they similar to each other?
Hey @Yang1991, thanks for checking it! They are similar in idea but different in implementation. Apple's FaceID uses hardware sensors to build 3d map of your face. And we do it using webcam images. Recent advancements in the ML space allow us to achieve it with consecutive photos taken from different angles. And this creates new possibilities for users to interact with web / mobile apps
I’m not sure how you would pull this off from a tech perspective. But yes I think I’d use something like this. I feel like Apple is probably already working on this. You can login to 3rd part websites using faceid. Only a matter of time until they bring it to their MacBooks.

Yeah, I like using FaceID on mobile as well, I expected them to add it to new Macbooks this year, and year before. Maybe they will decide to work with us to help them bring it there faster 🤔
