Webflow vs React site for SEO (blog CMS)

Does anyone have experience moving from Webflow to custom-coded site (using React)?

Struggling to figure out how to migrate all our blog posts over... I don't wanna do a subdomain but also not sure how else to do it so that:

  1. I don't have to rely on devs to update CMS with every new blog post
  2. It's good for SEO

Our devs hate Webflow and it's not meeting some of our needs right now (easier to do some experiments on a custom-coded site since Webflow has some limitations).

No difference. The success of your SEO strategy depends on the quality of your content, how well you target your keywords, and how user-friendly your website is.

      React for flexibility and control
Webflow for user-friendly interface and don't want to worry about technical details

    1. Not sure why developers have to be involved for updating cms. Once you have cms in place whenever there is a change your app should automatically pick it up.
    2. SEO involves multiple things like generating schema for search engine, optimizing keywords for search engine and esuring they are in the right place where se's generally look for and other technical factors like how speedy is the site and how does it performs on mobile etc. Which part are you worried about?

You can use already existing solution like astro, eleventy etc. to setup your pipeline and than use it for your site (assuming its content only). If you use static site generators you may not even need to involve developers at all.

Moving to a custom site can have a huge negative impact on SEO if you're not careful!

If you do move to React, and you care about SEO. Absolutely make sure you are static or server side rendered. Think NextJS, Gatsby or similar. If you move to a basic create-react-app your SEO will tank.

Webflow's CMS is relatively straightforward. If the collections have been set up already, it shouldn't be an issue updating them with or without technical support

If I can meet you half way, try Versoly (founder here) as a dev in 2017 I tried Webflow and hated it. Why do I need to struggle around a UI built for advanced designers?

So I built Versoly, devs love it as it has a code editor built-in and marketers enjoy it as it has a great CMS and allows you to easily add pages with pre-built components.
