Website monitoring - quality helper?

  1. Would you use simple website monitoring, where you provide URL + email and receive email notifications when your website is down, in order to know it before your customers do?
  2. Would you pay a few dollars per month for such a service?
It'd provide some additional information like:
  • alerts about SSL certification and domain expiration,
  • tips on how to improve your website
  • public status page
  • different notification options like slack, SMS, and other
  • probably some more useful features for bringing your website quality to a new level

I know there is a lot of website monitoring tools, but they seem a bit complicated to use for a simple website owner.

What is your opinion on this?

There are more than 180 website monitoring tools. To stay on the market, they all had to differentiate. Many of them chose simplicity as their USP.
I don't think you could succeed if focused only on being simple.
