Wednesday Edition: #daily-stand-up

Why?

That extra nudge of accountability to achieve even a small step on your IH journey each day.

To join in:

01 Share your epic (a big chunk of work with a meaty objective) you'd like to complete by the end of March.

02 Share what you accomplished yesterday.

03 Share what you commit to accomplishing today.

04 Comment on at least one fellow hacker's progress and give them an IH Point for their check in.

Optional:

05 Share your Work In Progress to underscore your accomplishments.

Then tune in the tomorrow to share how you did on your own tasks!

Hey @RyanHickman, just finished the story here

Feel free to ask any questions. Any feedback is more than welcome! Thanks a lot for the interest!

        1. 2

@dimkots finally got the chance to read it! LOVE it! I value the focus on problem solving and being solutions oriented rather than drilling into investor hoopla.

      2. 1

Definitely Ryan! Thanks for the interest, I will let you personally know as soon as I finish it!

Never yet actually! With pitch-deck I mostly mean our online presence, twitter account and description/value proposition in the various online places!

WIP of the Magnus Rush podcast app and podcast augmenting platform

    1. 1

@Davey I may just have to speak life into being the PH Launch Whisperer. Today we're helping AiKo launch and it's currently #1 of the day.

You can clearly see the bots of the other sites. AiKo has 1/2 the up votes, but is leading in quality.

Bots don't win PH of the day, great products and community does.

    01: EPIC

Design, build and deploy a small, free web app which helps business owners craft better customer support emails. The goal is to build a real-world, useful product while honing my JavaScript skills.

    02: YESTERDAY

Resolved the final programmatic hurdle by allowing for content snippets which fulfill multiple options (e.g. a particular email snippet could be appropriate for both formal and informal brand tones, not just one of these options).

    03: TODAY

Refactor, refactor, refactor. And also try to get the Indie Hackers meet-up in Austin this evening!

    1. 2

Nice idea Marianne! Keep it up! Do you use some framework for the frontend? And what is your backend choice?

      1. 1

Thanks so much @dimkots! I'm keeping it really simple for this project so no back-end — the data is just a JSON file that I'm pulling in using Webpack and the rest is pure HTML, CSS and JS. Using Bootstrap 4 for the grid though, love the flexibility it gives with columns!

    Epic - 2019-03

[ ] Support importing users who cannot log in or interact with https://www.remarkbox.com, this will make it possible to import comments and threads from Disqus again.

[ ] Ability for Namespace owners to disable deeply nested comments. All replies to a top level comment will be nested in order by creation date. This will clear an objection that was given by a free tier user.

    Yesterday

[x] Followed up with customers waiting for this feature letting them know progress is being made.

[x] Modify Node class to support relating to a UserSurrogate, write some unit tests for the model changes.

    Today

[ ] modify import_json script to support importing comments with UserSurrogates instead of just Users
