PROGRESS YESTERDAY
PLANNED FOR TODAY
Re client work, that actually is likely to morph into a long term engagement helping to build a grow a potentially lucrative SaaS in the education space. Demand is confirmed and I have industry connections that could help. Nothing solid yet but I sense this guy might need a technical cofounder with some management chops rather than just a code jockey.
Welcome back to the show @aliakhtar, looks like naminator is turning into a legit product. Could be a useful way to make purchasing domains more of a snap decision. Interested to see where that goes.

Hey man, ThreadBase seems awesome. And congrats on putting in your notice. You should join the slack community in my profile, would love to have you in there. (Anyone else who'd like to join is welcome as well)
Thanks, its growing...slowly but it feels pretty solid.
I've put your slack channel on my to do list. Away from my main machine atm and I'm not a fan of the phone layout for slack.
outstanding
Woohoo! Congrats on putting in notice (+1 for ending things amicably). That's a big step forward.
Helloo people, long time!
Epic: Launch Naminator, Bianna, Dating site by end of 2019. Have one of them gain traction.
Last few weeks: Been working like a mad scientist to improve the quality of words generated by Naminator. Prettyy happy with the results now.
Tomorrow: Do the last bit of reviewing of the name quality and deploy the new algorithm to the site so it can be tested by others.
WIP: https://naminator.io
Very nice idea, I am already convinced. I struggle to see how you will make money.
Sure it is a useful tool.
Thank you! Yeah the revenue is tricky.. I'm considering charging for it.
Hiya Ali,
Interesting idea! I hope you continue to update us.
Looks like the "change" button after you first search a word and want to do a different one is a bit clunky, I'd suggest perhaps improving that if you want people to stay on your site for a little longer.
Hey, thank you so much for the feedback. Getting people to stay on the site for long is definitely a goal. Any ideas on how that button could be improved? E.g what did you expect when you clicked on it?
Well at least for me there's no button to go to the new page after typing in a new result. Clicking enter also did not help.
Might want to have the site automatically highlight the last word you searched, so then one can type in a new word, then have a big "new search" button as well
Thank you very much for the feedback, we'll definitely act on it!
Yesterday: The app got approved for the app store. I made some good progress on marketing material.
Today: Keep working on some touch ups and finalize the website. Maybe work on the new version of Makers Part List if I need a break.
WIP: https://chazit.landen.co/
I'd totally use your app if it had a voice thing. I find myself telling siri to make reminders for what i need to buy. would love it if there was a grocery app i could talk to and it could add things to a list.
Yeah I dont have that feature yet, but I think some others do? Maybe I'll look into adding that functionality soon.
congratulations!

Hey, what's the product you're doing these meetings for?
Hey @aliakhtar! No specific product yet. I'm in the exploration phase - searching for problems and people I'll care about to help.

Hey, how're the sales going? :)
I haven’t been doing any work on sales this month, instead been tightening up both products. Also had a quick shift in focus to put together some info for investor interest.
EPIC, complete by the end of June: Get a first demo out: an HTTP server on top of the functional database.
Yesterday, got branch merging working, made a small asciinema video of a REPL run
Today, I plan to get the REST interface up and running
WIP: https://asciinema.org/a/V7cLNV3Rotc4wldfhYb9dRUK3
Are you working on a way to run text based demos like a video? That seems really cool - have you considered doing that for like, how it works / documentations?
I am not sure I understand correctly. The asciinema link is a replay of an REPL run using my database.
Yes, I plan to do more asciinema videos. Eventually, I want the documentation to be interactive and reproduce this tutorial https://docs.data.world/tutorials/sparql/index.html requires login.
My bad, I thought you were working on that asciinema site haha. A new db, that's cool too.

Other Notes
I've always been prone to sprinting and getting burnt out. Right now I really want to get started building a product with my free time, but I've been practicing self-restraint. Ultimately I know that if I don't get a crisp idea of what the problem is, I'm going to end up building something no one wants, which will discourage me before "lock-in", and cause me to burn out.
So to avoid letting idle hands make mischief, I'm spending some time today to just take care of those small life maintenance items that I have a knack of ignoring when sprinting (ex. replacing my car's wiper blades).
I'm in this for the long-run and I can't let myself get knocked out in the first mile.
Epic: build web payments for subscriptions + web signup so that I can start using promo codes as an acquisition channel.
