This week on Twitter I wrote:
I recently half joked with the wife that I'd have a Million dollars 11 years from now (when I turn 50). This last week I officially decided to go for it, feel free to follow along on this unthought-out journey of success and failure... https://twitter.com/MicahIverson/status/1289030351365369856 #MakerMillion
Today I'm publishing some progress from the first partial week, next week will be my first full week.
Here are my notes...
Primary Goals / Thoughts
- Have 1 Million Dollars by the time I'm 50 (04/09/2031).
- Donate, Invest, Giveaway at least 25% of savings if/when goal is reached or when time expires.
- All user donated income will be put into a savings account and not touched.
- Income I generate can be put in savings and/or used to increase wealth.
- Wealth can be generated by any legal means necessary. SAAS sales, Painting Company, Design/Dev Company, Investing, Stocks, Donations, Interest, Physical Goods, etc.
- Curious to see if others join in as well on their own big financial 10 year goals that need to be started now to be successful.
- We are in middle of a pandemic, share ways people can make money to simply survive.
Breakdown as of 7/30/20 (Roughly)
A big part of reaching financial goals is breaking down the numbers as small as possible, here is what I calculated I need to actually SAVE (not just earn) to reach my goal.
Timeframe
- 10.5 Years
- 128 Months
- 546 Weeks
- 3,832 Days
- 91,968 Hours
- 5,518,080 Minutes
Revenue Saved (Averages)
- $95,238 per Year
- $7,812 per Month
- $1,832 per Week
- $361 per Day
- $11 per Hour
- $00.18 per Minute
I'm not good at calendar math, give me a break! :)
Let me know if I'm drastically miscalculating this or if you have really specific numbers (looking at you math geeks).

Remaining: $999,494.00
- 2 Donations

I'll be updating this board (https://www.retrospect.team/board/30-7-2020-4a9efbc5-2b33-4631-b01d-c41abb8e1761-23-29-22) and Twitter with ongoing updates from week to week as a way to track progress and provide knowledge to others.
Thanks!
You have to make $100 before you can make a million. IMO set smaller goals to start and you will be more likely to achieve them, be motivated and continue. Focus on making 1 sale of a product first.
This is exactly why I breakdown the total by time/income so I can reach a per hour goal which is much more approachable than a huge goal. $11 per hour is a pretty reasonable target to get me started.
I'm not very active on Twitter but will follow your updates here, best of luck.
Thanks for the support!

I actually saw this tweet as well, which is how my process is focused on. The big difference is that I’m aiming for multiple revenue sources, his post seems to aim for one revenue source.
It’s not an easy goal, but it’s also not impossible by any means. I don’t think I’ll see significant savings growth for 4-5 years, definitely not a short-term thing.

The more I think about it, the more certain I feel I can reach the goal. Will be a long journey for sure though.
