Week 2 on the Journey of Building Simulit - Unveiling Strategies, Stumbling Blocks, and Small Victories

Hey IndieHackers community! Julian here, back with a recap of my second week diving deep into the development of Simulit. It's been a rollercoaster of highs and lows, juggling my day job, coaching duties(soccer), and pushing Simulit closer to its launch. Here's a breakdown of how the week unfolded:

Day 6: The Slow Start
Monday hit me with the reality of balancing a full-time job and a passion project. My goal was modest but crucial - to carve out Simulit's unique selling proposition (USP) by deep-diving into competitor analysis. Though progress was slower than anticipated, every step forward is a step closer to clarity.

Day 7: Competitor Analysis Amidst Chaos
Juggling work and winter training for my League 8 team, time was scarce. Yet, I managed to wrap up the competitor analysis, gaining insights into their strengths, weaknesses, pricing, and target demographics. This crucial step will inform how I refine Simulit's waitlist landing page for better engagement.

Day 8: Website Woes
Dedicated the day to revamping the landing page, focusing on more targeted copywriting and feature explanations based on yesterday's competitor insights. The challenge was balancing the design work with exploring tactics for pre-sales.

Day 9: Crossing the Finish Line
After a deep dive into design and strategy, the new website update was ready. I decided to hold off on publishing until the next day, ensuring everything was polished to perfection.

Day 10: Launch and Learn
Published the updated landing page and set my sights on setting up pre-sales, analyzing competitors' ads, and brainstorming a keyword strategy for a free guide. It was a day of tangible progress, marking a significant step forward for Simulit. Check out the new landing page here: www.simulit.app

Day 11: The Outreach Begins
With a soccer tournament taking up half the day, my morning and evening were packed with preparing a cold email campaign targeting small SaaS owners. The goal? To understand their customer feedback loops and introduce them to Simulit. Also ventured into Reddit and IndieHackers for some community engagement.

Day 12: Community and Leads
Focused on expanding my reach by posting in various subreddits and drafting a weekly recap for IndieHackers. I also continued to build my list of potential leads for the upcoming cold email campaign and planned to double down on targeted ads.

Reflections and Next Steps:
This week has been a testament to the power of perseverance and community support. Balancing a full-time job, coaching, and building Simulit has been challenging but incredibly rewarding. I've learned the importance of clear, targeted communication, both in refining Simulit's value proposition and in reaching out to potential users.

As I gear up for another week, I'm excited to dive into cold emailing, further community engagement, and perhaps most importantly, the relentless pursuit of making customer interviews more accessible and insightful for everyone.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on balancing side projects with other commitments, strategies for engaging potential users, or any feedback on Simulit.

Wishing you all a productive week ahead! 🚀
