Week 2: Opened free trial, added data, and learned what I'm actually selling

Quick update from the 57-year-old construction manager building Slash it.

Last week I posted my founder story here and got incredible feedback — 65 comments, people from Singapore, Norway, India, Alaska, and more.

Here's what I did with it.

What I learned
The best comment I got: "You're not building an email tool. You're selling 30 minutes back every morning."

That reframe changed everything. So I found the data to back it up:

  • 121 emails/day — average office worker (Radicati Group, 2025)
  • 150–200+ emails/day — executives (Radicati Group, 2025)
  • 28% of your workweek — spent on email (McKinsey Global Institute)
  • 23 min 15 sec — to refocus after checking email (UC Irvine)
  • Only 12% of emails actually need action (Unboxd, 2026)

That's 11 hours a week. Gone.

What I shipped

  • Added the data to the landing page
  • Opened free 1-week trial (no payment, no waitlist)
  • Improved privacy section based on trust feedback from this thread

Where I am
Still at zero paying customers. But the conversation here has been worth more than a month of silence.

Honest feedback is all I ask.
