Week 6 of Business - Thoughts & Recap

Week 6 Recap - hippieonholiday.com

Hey all! Welcome to my new series - where I'm going to try and fully document every step I take to bring my business from just launched to successful af. πŸ˜˜πŸ˜‚

This week...I got some stuff done, but I definitely slacked. πŸ˜‚

I started off pretty good by creating an editorial calendar (which is going to be a GAME CHANGER for my content creation process). I'm pretty excited about this. At this point, I have some REALLY good template tools and I'm thinking about rounding them up into one super freebie...or maybe even charging. πŸ€”

I know they would've done wonders for me if I had them all when I started my site. πŸ˜‚

I've made some really good progress internally, just with clarifying my priorities. I'm tired of drowning in projects and ready to actually COMPLETE some of them lmao.

Charging for products is still something I'm a little fearful of, and I know I'm probably giving too much information away for free (something I didn't believe was possible before). For now, I know it's helping me learn a lot about my readers so it's worth it.

I STILL haven't sent a newsletter. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I feel weird about it since I have 30 subscribers who are just sitting there and now it's like calling that friend you haven't called in years - awkward.

I know I'm just overthinking it, so I'm going to send one about my new blog post going live tomorrow.

I was still working on last week's article (drafting it up in WordPress took me WAY longer than it should've) so I didn't get my newest article done. The deadline I set for myself was Thursday, but now I'm aiming to get it done by Tuesday to stay on track.

I missed a couple of phone calls this week, πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈreally need to get over my phone call anxiety haha. Luckily none of them were particularly important (though I would've LOVED to know about Flick's new features in advance πŸ‘€).

I did get on one call, with a content strategy coach. It was actually a great confidence booster because I already knew everything she told me! πŸ˜‚

Just more evidence I need to stop doubting myself and just trust.

I found a new way to set up my screenshots and my new blog post looks professional AF. I'm pretty excited about it, now I just need to 10x my speed when I do it again next week.

I did not film a Youtube video (again), but I am blaming that on lack of time rather than lack of confidence - so that's a very positive change. I'm feeling ready to film it this coming week!

I went to the park with my friend who is working on starting her coaching business, and we had our own little photo shoot - which is going to be GREAT for Instagram. I've been avoiding posting because I have no pictures and I am avoiding stock photography so this is going to be incredibly helpful.

Now I just need to figure out why the presets I bought won't upload into Lightroom...

There's always something, right? πŸ˜‚

I spent a lot less time marketing on social media, including Facebook groups Instagram and Pinterest. My metrics definitely dropped a bit from inactivity but it made a huge difference in the amount of time it took me to complete a task because I wasn't so distracted.

Going forward, I'm going to be more specific with how much time, when, and the exact "quota" I set for myself so I don't overdo it on social media.

In summary, I could have got more done this week but the things I DID get done were impactful and will make future content faster to create. I'm feeling slightly less overwhelmed which is a miracle. πŸ˜‚ I'm ready to get some work done today, and start tomorrow fresh, on track, and motivated!

Thanks for checking in <3 If you have any questions about anything along the way I love to answer questions!😘
