Week 7 insight that changed my entire SaaS positioning

Someone on this thread said something that reframed my entire product:

"Agencies don't have a SOW problem. They have a scope-to-delivery-to-margin visibility problem."

I've been pitching CLOBSOW as "AI writes SOWs in 15 seconds." Feature-first. Demo-first. Look-what-I-built-first.

Nobody cared. 6,000 impressions. 0 sign-ups.

Because nobody wakes up thinking "I need a better SOW tool." They wake up thinking "why did that project lose money?"

The SOW says £85/hr for 100 hours = £8,500.
The timesheet logs 120 hours.
The invoice goes out at £10200.
The client disputes it.
The agency eats the difference.

Multiply by 20 projects = £20,000/year leaked without anyone noticing.

CLOBSOW doesn't fix SOWs. It connects the commercial promise to operational reality — so margin erosion is visible in real-time, not discovered at year-end.

Old pitch: "AI writes SOWs in 15 seconds"
New pitch: "Stop losing money between winning
the work and getting paid"

This one reframe came from listening, not building.
Josh was right — research calls > feature launches.

Has anyone else had a positioning shift that
changed everything? Curious what triggered yours.

Great reframe — and it applies one level up too. Now that the pitch is "stop losing money between winning the work and getting paid," the test is whether an agency owner who types that exact frustration into Google or ChatGPT ever finds you. Repositioning fixes the message; the next win is making sure the new message is discoverable at the moment someone's searching the pain, not just when they land on your page.

Spot on — repositioning without discoverability is just talking to yourself. The interesting thing is Google Gemini already surfaces CLOBSOW when you search 'agency SOW platform' — all from LinkedIn and IH posts, zero SEO. But you're right that the NEW positioning language needs to be in those posts too. Next LinkedIn post will use the margin visibility framing instead of the feature list. Thanks for connecting the dots.
