I am working on tendship (https://tendship.com) which is a private journal that sends you a reminder if you whenever you stop mentioning a friend. It is in open beta right now and I am just making some improvements to it right now (e.g. add screenshots to the landing page).

My name is Tina, and I am passionate about gaming and helping others.

Initially, I joined the community to offer my gaming experience and in hopes of finding co-founders like a full-stack developer to create a SaaS and solve the problems for 2 underserved markets: social gamers and independent game developers.

Given recent events, I post today because I am confident our SaaS can also help small businesses in their recovery & relaunch efforts since social in-game advertising is the most powerful form of advertising. The SaaS inherently also help non-profits, corporations, tribal casinos.

I have been in the gaming industry for over 2 decades: tribal casinos, slot and table games consultant and vendor, social marketing affiliate for companies like Playtika and DoubleDown.

With a core team of two others (5+ years together – LEAN, Marketing, Sales, IT, Project Management, software experience) and $50k seed funding, we made it to the “Proof of concept” phase with a Facebook game, (22,000 downloads, 1,1000 players, 60,000 games played) advertising hurdles killed the chance for self-growth (long story short, could only use an approved company, they didn’t vet their ads, (clickbait malware and viruses hit our players, had to remove ads.)

By the time we found one that vetted their ads, it was too late, since Facebook Canvas upgrades inevitable and we had no funds to cover programming costs. Like many indie game creators, we were priced out of the market.

Indie developers made social gaming. Then, big companies and foreign entities bought out some of the best social games. Players are there, but the game category has become stagnant.

The skill-based social gaming market is underserved because indie developers like me, targeting an underserved massive group of players like me, have been priced out of the market.

I am here in hopes of rounding out my core founders’ team with developers, and not only come together to help players and other indie game creators, but also help small business across the U.S. harness social digital marketing in the most powerful way to help them recover quicker.

My name is Dave Mongan, and I'm building an "active-mindfulness" app that helps people cultivate better mental routines. I've been working on it (bootstrapped) for the past year, along with the help of various developers, and I'm currently beta testing the iOS app.

Background
I was previously a product manager at Tesla ('13-'17) where I ultimately managed our in-person experiences (touchscreens, sales tools, etc). I've long struggled with ADHD and have found that adding some structure to my days helps me be more productive since my natural inclination is to be pretty haphazard. I initially tried the Five-Minute Journal but found it lacking "teeth" in terms of my work productivity, so I went searching for a better system. What I found has become an iOS app called Headway.

About Headway
Headway is an active-mindfulness routine that helps you achieve your goals and be more mindful of your behaviors using twice-daily questionnaires. The morning uses a brew of psychological tactics, including visualization and premortems, to help you prompt and plan for productivity. The evening uses active questions, which start with "Did I do my best to...?", to speak directly to your effort rather than your outcomes. Active questions were created by author and executive coach, Marshall Goldsmith, Ph.D., who's used them with thousands of people, including Fortune 500 execs.

I've been lurking on IndieHackers for awhile now, and it's been quite motivating to see all the ideas and success that people are achieving.

For years I've had countless ideas for online projects and businesses. I've even tried to get a few of them off the ground in the past. I usually stopped working on the projects because I was discouraged with how long they were taking to build. I realized recently that I hold myself to a standard that's much too high for a side project. I wanted everything to be perfect.

Moving forward, my goal is to get one of the project ideas that I have online in an MVP state and take pride that I finally was able to launch one. For this I've decided to build a site called CarSharingData which will provide in-depth market reports for Turo (and at a later date: Getaround). A few sites already exist that provide this type of data. My goal isn't to make a fortune, but rather to get over the hump of launching my first project to the world. It's a project to help my self-growth.

I look forward to continue reading about all the people, projects, and successes on IndieHackers and I hope to have my own stories to add in the future.

For the past year, I've been working on https://justplaythesong.com/ which was my long time passion - to teach songs interactively for people who already know how to play. My thoughts were that while most people would like to play songs as amateurs (i.e. hit the ceiling of what they'd like to learn in their first year and stay hobbyists), there are mostly solutions for people who want to "go pro".

After close to a year of intense work, I'm starting to think that there isn't really a justification for this and that I should shut down.

I stumbled upon this community amid my thoughts of pivoting to B2B SAAS for professionals, wanting to learn no-code for quick prototyping and agile cycles, and mostly, feeling a bit deflated after a very intense year.

I would like to build a scalable business that will support myself and a team and for that, I would like to hit the elusive "product-market fit" using no-code before building software.
This time around I've decided to work the opposite way from my usual habit (effectively "if you build it, they will come"). I will choose a sector, then interview clients on their problems and needs, then build mockups of a solution and get feedback, then a very lean MVP with no-code, and only after clients commit to paying, will I feel I'm "on to something".

Would love to learn and assist this community.

It's called Grryno (https://grryno.com) and it's a game server hosting service without any monthly fees. It's a pay-for-what-you-use service. I'm very nervous about finally putting myself out there.

It started over 5 years ago when a friend of mine showed me his own tech startup that he was running using Linode servers. He was making about $3k a month from it and I was very impressed about how simple it seemed. I thought, "This is gonna be easy! I'll do the same thing, but with game servers. I'll be rich in no time!". It's definitely not that easy, and this project has turned into a labor of love.

My goal right now is to get 10 people using Grryno regularly so I can get feedback to help improve the service and make launching and running game servers as easy as possible.

Our product is called Verb Data and it's a no-code, end-to-end solution for embedding user-facing dashboards and reports into SaaS applications. With Verb, developers don’t need to manage servers or infrastructure and product managers can implement new reports or dashboards on the fly.

I am a 20 year old college student who attends NYU - I joined this community because of my growing boredom and sense of uselessness in academia. I have wanted to drop out for the past year, but fear of losing a clear path to a healthy and stable job has kept me in school. I can no longer take the mundane work that my university continues to pile onto me.

In my past I have created an e-commerce clothing business and poker blog (one of my passions), however both have halted at this point. I am looking to dive into a new project and hopefully make it my day job! I wanted to join this community for a chance to connect with others who have started the path of entreprenuership and finally be able to utilize my work-ethic and eagerness to build something from scratch.

All of us worked for more then 10 years in telco world for big telecommunication companies and just wanted to run of way from corporate way of working and living because we realized 10 years is more then enough to become aware we are not the corporate world players :)

Of course, as our expertise is telco, we continued working in telco world to earn for our living, but want to find a new niche and try something else. One of ideas we have found so far is partnership with Atlassian and developing products for their ecosystem. We are trying to launch our first atlassian marketplace app for Jira - 'Worklog express' which is our first try to develop something that will hopefully be used and not anyhow connected to our usual 'telco' enterprise business :)

As we are quite new to 'outside' world, we have to learn a lot about launching new products and finding our way to reach our early customers, so hopefully this is a right place to start gathering good ideas.

Hi, I'm Damian from Brighton, UK. I've always wanted to create a digital product that people find really valuable and can provide me with a sustainable income. Indie Hackers (especially the podcast) has given me so much insight into other bootstrappers and has helped me to formulate what direction I want to take things.

The product I am working on to launch as a v1.0 is called Photonix (https://photonix.org/) and is a cloud-based photo management app. It aims to be the central place photographers go to manage their photos. It streamlines the process of storing, presenting and re-discovering photos. It is responsive across multiple devices and has advanced search features utilising AI for object detection, colour detection, style classification and more. There is an online demo you can try on the site or run the Docker image yourself if you are so inclined.

It is an open source project so please check out my GitHub project (https://github.com/damianmoore/photonix/) if you would like to get involved. Eventually I'd like to provide a managed SAAS version to sustain development. Any advice or comments would be much appreciated. Hopefully I'll be able to update here in the near future.

I think I am about 2 to 3 months away from actually shipping a beta out and getting feedback from users.

A big reason why I joined IH is because I'm searching for a cofounder. Something I've noticed in the year that I've worked on this product is that I severely lack design skills, and as much as I'd love to learn these skills, I rather just have a business partner come in and take on that responsibility so I can focus on writing software.

It was hard walking away from problems in customers' apps/sites every single day. There wasn't time, budget or allowance to improve them in those roles. Hey there - my name is Anthony. Lots of programmers and developers here so I'm afraid I might look a little lost.. I'm a physics teacher, STEM coordinator and learning technologies specialist for a large private international school. My job does see me teaching basic programming at times but I've essentially got one foot fixed in the structured 'science curriculum' world and another in the much more fluid 'Project Based Learning' / 'Maker Ed' world and my passion is to pull these two worlds a little closer together to make something that is both academically rigorous and creatively agentic (See: agentic learning). I'm trying to build a community of 'Maker Learners' who are interested in connecting STEM learning with hands on 'Build-It-Yourself' products. I've got ties to factories that make electronic components and a list of product ideas that I'd like to package the components and learning resources for. By the end of 2020 I'd like to see myself with a small but growing community of maker learners and with 1-2 project kits produced that are both sold online and used as the backbone of after-school clubs that can be run for communities.

Probably one 'offshoot' of this that I should mention on a page filled with so many programmers is that I'm really interested in creating a 'Python Physics' online textbook. After getting amazing physics results because of their excellent teacher (hehe) my students often come back from universities across the globe and complain that so much of their first year of physics has had to be spent getting their programming skills up to the level required for computational physics courses. If I could give them a leg-up here and send them to university with foundational computational physics knowledge then I'd be a very happy educator. Making python programs/3D models/sims and learning physics in the process is still very much in the maker learners ethos, but I've started viewing it as more of a niche child idea due to the specific goal of creating a textbook/programming hybrid that aligns with high school physics content.
