    Hi everyone,
    My name is Ardi.
Been helping small and large companies in product development and business process agility.
Been working in the renewables energy space for the past 4 years to do something positive about the environment.

Currently 1st employee and solo developer of an 8 person startup.
Built the whole system using mainly Salesforce + AWS:

    • Customer Acquisition (Channels: digital, direct mail, affiliate, referral)
    • Customer Servicing (Call Center + Customer Portal)
    • Customer Invoicing (Accounting + Different billing models)

After two years, the company is doing well but I am not aligned with its culture. Now I am looking into new challenges, maybe launching a business, but mostly learning from others and potentially helping some.
    Thank you

    1. 1

      Hey Ardi,
I hear That, your next adventure awaits you. Any ideas on what to do next?

      1. 2

I would like to learn from what others have done, maybe help some in their journey. I also want to go through an old list of incomplete/not started side projects, try to contact some potential users for each one of them to see if one can get monetized. How about you?

        1. 1

Dusting up some old ideas is always a good start. I'm on a mission to provide a platform for people to get steady side gigs that align with their skills. not just virtually but physically. Kinda like an improved Craigslist. My main target are a few African markets that i believe will benefit from such a service.

    2. 1

Cool stuff, let me know if you'd like to chat! I started Globo (https://www.globo.earth), which helps people go carbon neutral and reduce their carbon footprint, so sorta similar to your renewable energy work. It's built with an AWS (serverless) back-end and React front-end.

      1. 1

        I definitely want to chat.
        What's the best way :) ?

        1. 1

Hey, I totally dropped the ball on this! If you still want to chat, I just followed you on twitter (patrickeating) - we can take it from there in DMs!

    3. 1

Sounds good Ardi, lets connect. DM.

    4. 1

I hope the culture and people here at IH align with what you are looking for.

    Hi IndieHackers,

My name is Greg. After 10 years of starting, running and eventually selling a traditional technology consulting business, I found myself stuck working as a senior "manager" in a large organisation. Although it helped my ego, it entirely destroyed my creativity. In December 2019 I made the design to quit my job and figure out my own path.

After 2 months of tinkering, I am now actively working on my first project which aims to solve a critical problem that I've always experienced: Assisting tech leads to efficiently ramp up the skills of junior project members.

I'll post more details in the Brainstorming forum.

    Quick summary of goals through:

    1. Initially establish a business that grows my professional reputation, allowing me to engage is short term consulting gigs that fund longer term quiet time for getting the real work done.
    2. Eventually establish a platform that I can run fully remotely while tending to my veggie garden :)

    Greg

    1. 1

I like your goals, I hope you can keep us posted!

    Hello IndieHackers,

My name is Ítalo Barros, and I am currently doing a MSc. Degree in Informatics at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), doing some research in the field of robotics. For this year I have three goals: learn DataViz, AI and ML in 6 months, build a career as a freelancer in these areas in the next 6, and start the digital nomad dream with my wife who is a Designer after that.

Because I really like to do some Designs (even for hobbie), and have already done some work in the area as a freelancer, I want to put this as my personal differential in the area of Data Science and AI (although I don't know how to do it yet). As a digital nomad, I want to work more in the social sphere, and I will try to found a way to bring education and free learning to people into social vulnerability.

    Cheers!

    Hi IndieHackers,

I'm well experienced in Python, C ,C++, Java, JavaScript and other programming languages. On the web side of things i have worked with Flask, Django , MySQL, PHP and MongoDB and im currently learning React and Angular.

    Thanks. :)

    Hi everyone,
I'm Jake, and I've been working a a side project for myself for a few months now that I'd like to start to share with the rest of the world. I have a few loose ends to fix up and my hope is to find a small group here in Indie Hackers where I can maybe trade product feedback with others! It would be really nice to get some feedback from people who don't feel like they have to be nice to me.

    1. 1

Hi Jake. A good starting point might be our Landing Page Feedback group.

  6. 3

Hi I am Luis and I don't really know what to do.

    1. 1

It's ok to not know. You are most definitely not the only one in this position.

I'd suggest browsing the forum, reading some interviews and/or listening to some of the IH podcasts.

    Hi IndieHackers,

My name is Alec. I am a Full Stack Developer and have developed various projects (medium to large) with the MERN stack together with Firebase. After 6 months of researching and discussing with a friend we are finally going to start a project together. He has always been a quick and creative thinker and is currently studying Pharmacy at university. He will handle the business side. I on the other hand like the dirty gritty coding. I am working on the project now and have a MVP web version ready, well one more week and should be perfect.

We are looking for one more member, a mobile developer, ideally very experienced in Swift but we will settle for Android too, to join our team.

If you are interested, please email [email protected] .

    Quick summary of goals through:

Initially establish a strong business in South East Asia, targeting users who love travelling and shopping.

    Alec and Edwin

Nice to be here, and please to meet everyone.

Hi, I am a CTO/ Backend developer with 10+ years in the field of building web applications. Using .Net Core, JS, also have sysadmin/devops/management skills. I think here I maybe can help someone with development or start own business.

    1. 1

Welcome! Just joined myself. Backend engineer mainly too :)

  10. 2

Hi everyone! I'm Matthieu, I was a coder for a while and made the switch to product management a few years ago.

I'm currently working on tagai.io, a way for product managers and founders to tag their customer support conversations 10x faster and extract new insights in a data driven way.

I had originally just built it for myself (when I was a PM at a B2B SaaS company) with a friend. We ended up adding a bunch of features (machine learning, keyboard shortcuts, good search etc) that made the product 10x better than its alternatives, so we decided to make it into a business!

We already have a couple of really cool startups (including some from Y Combinator) using it but I'm looking to learn more from the community on Indiehackers about growing a product and surviving in the startup world :)

Thanks for reading and for having me!

    Hello Hackers,
I'm a comic book artist who learned to program to make a character creator. I've grown the user base over the years and am now ready and eager to take it to the next level. It's rewarding to read the messages from users of the app, and I'm working on making it profitable so it continues to grow in features and assets. I'm looking forward to interacting with other Indiehackers and being a part of this ambitious goal of living off of our creations.

  12. 2

My name is Koen Bok. I'm half designer, half programmer. I'm obsessed with making tools that allow people to express their creative ideas at high fidelity in the form of a prototype or MVP.

Currently I'm working on Framer (framer.com) which is mainly used by the worlds best product designers to invent features for Facebook Messenger, Spotify mobile, the Zoom app and much more. I'm here to find out how I can give communities like these the same superpowers, using the skills they already have.

Before this, I cofounded another startup building tools (Versions, Kaleidoscope). My company was acquired by Facebook in 2011, where I worked as a product designer for over two years.

    Hello everyone!

I am Nicolas ; I studied politics and I now dive into web development and data analysis. I joined a startup based in Germany focused on digital marketing.

We are launching a Lead Management System for startups and SMEs: http://my-leads.io/

    • MyLeads let you easily create forms that you promote on social medias in order to turn visitors into customers.

I would really appreciate any feedbacks on the idea and on the landing page!

My goal is to get an insight about digital marketing, data analytics and web development in order to adapt these tools in politics later. I am a big fan of the EU and I would like to promote it:)

    Kind regards, Nicolas

    Hey Rosie,

I've been an IT entrepreneur the past 25 years and managed to found two quite successful companies in that time, and had one failure. Recently I handed over operations of my last (successful) company to the staff to be able to get back to the trenches and do what I love: building new things in very small teams or by myself. I have released three things since then: a crossword puzzle game where I did the back-end, a time series data storage service, where I did everything, and now lately a crossword design tool, where I also did everything.

I am very much a generalist, but with strong technical knowledge and a decent business sense. I've always been fairly at home with back-end development, but spent the past year getting up to speed in the front-end also. I've realized, though, that front-end development is not my thing - it is damned HARD :) so whatever I build gets a mediocre web UI (check out https://crosswordcomputer.com) and takes way too long to finish.

    Next steps?

I'm here primarily to find a really good front-end developer to work with, as I've figured out that my lack of front-end skill is likely the most inhibiting factor for me right now. I have what I think is a fun and commercially viable concept, building on work I've already done and copying some elements from another successful app out there. I just need to find the right front-end developer to build the UI, because if I build it, the product will need a ton more marketing ;)

Oh, and I'm also very much willing to help other entrepreneurs/indiehackers, especially new ones, in any way I can. 25 years should have taught me at least something that could be of use to others.

    Hi there,
    I'm Logan.
I'm a Software Engineer and Architect for an Oil and Gas startup in Texas. Before O&G, I worked for a non-profit and loved every minute of it. While working, I realized there was no great software solution for helping us (all 30,000 of us) raise our monthly funding. So I'd like to create a SaaS for that.
It's a dream of mine to help my non-profit friends, while also being able to provide for my family and spend more time with my kids.

    Hi everyone.

    I am Haris.

I am a full-stack web developer and I work on remote positions.

As my side project, I am considering a 360 WordPress maintenance service business, built on top of other top SaaS services. To begin with, I plan to focus on European market.

I am motivated by @austinginder whose work I admire.

Apart from my 10+ years of experience as a developer, I am starting from zero.

    Thank you.

  17. 2

Hi all, I'm a full stack engineer, I'm working on a MVP to save time in data related tasks: extract, organize, retrieve and use the data.
I'm looking for feedback, co-founders (design, growth, sales) and first customers ...
I can also help other members about any technical points/questions.

    Hello World,

my name is Marvin. For 10 years I am a working as a software developer. Mostly I am building internal software for customers. It feels like I am in a feature factory. Cranking out new features because the customer wants them. Never seeing any real growth. Simply doing as I am told. Its frustrating...

3 years ago I build an personal finance app for myself. Because the existing apps require constant adjustments and arent "smart". The idea is: Enter your transaction data (via import or manually) and it will keep a budget for you. No micro management required like with other apps. The app knows when recurring transactions are due and each month it will automatically set aside enough money to pay the expenses later. But I dont have any marketing skills. And as you may have noticed, I am not a native English speaker. Even starting a blog to teach financial skills is hard for me. And this is probably an app that requires lots of content.

Last month I noticed that I got enough cash to invest in marketing for my personal finance app. I never thought about outsourcing and it felt like a revelation to me. Therefore I set myself a budget which I will spend on hiring writers in the next months.

My goals for this year are:

    1. Aquiring 1,000 customers a month (free / trial, I am not sure if I will go with Freemium. Billing and "premium" features arent ready yet… so currently this does not matter)
    2. Reaching 1,000$ / month (thats around 10 paying customers)
    3. Keep working at my company for financial reasons, but maybe reduce my hours when my income with the app covers the monthly marketing expenses.

    See you soon

    Marvin

    1. 2

I feel your pain Marvin. I've been working at the same company for 10 years and all we do is pump out features that our sales team swears is the next big thing. So frustrating.

Welcome and good luck with your product. Sounds very promising.

      1. 1

        What are you doing now?

        1. 1

Building a work management web application that has a supporting mobile app.

    2. 1

Hey Marvin, as a quick suggestion, you can probably use www.nerdwallet.com or www.financialsamurai.com articles as templates to get your content marketing up to speed. Also, if you're looking someone to help with personal finance content marketing, I worked 8+ years in the asset management (investment) industry with 3 years on the "sell side" publishing financial reports and have MBA (concentration in finance). I am looking to pickup some consulting work. I can help you write finance content if you're interested.

      1. 1

Lets talk. Send me an email: [email protected]

    3. 1

Marvin, your English looks pretty great to me dude.
Best of luck with it, sounds really promising!

  19. 2

    Hello Rosie,

I'm glad to be here and since I'm new to this, I'll start figuring out what exactly I need to do here. Appreciate any help from your end too. And, I am looking out for full time opportunities in the field of Software Engineering and I'd appreciate any leads which can help me out. Thanks.

My name is Rashaad, I'm a co-founder of a Data Analytics company and attempting to get into government contracts.
I am looking for the motivation and encouragement to become an IndieHacker.
I've been apart of startups for years and was recently laid off from a corporate job as a Business Intelligence Analyst.

Sounds good Rashaad, lets connect. DM?

Hi everyone. My name is Will.

I recently launched Chisos (Chisos.io) to provide financing for the earliest stage entrepreneur.

Chisos pays a monthly cash stipend to entrepreneurs for 12 months, providing an income to cover living expenses. The stipend is either repaid through a flexible income share agreement or can be converted in to equity if the new business succeeds.

My background is banking and investing with a bit of startup experience. I saw a large gap in the financing options for early stage businesses and entrepreneurs. Applications are open, and would love feedback on the terms of the deal. We are early enough to be flexible with terms before we scale up.

    Have a great week!
    -Will

    HI, Nikhil here.
I have been in the startup world for the past 7 years. Worked in 3 startups and started 2. I come from the Tech world and starting to understand the business world.
This year my plan is to give my third attempt. After so many failures I have understood a thing or two and feel this gives me confidence to take my failures as stepping stones towards success.

Hope here I can share information and also get some advice which helps me.

    Cheers!!

    1. 1

Hey Nikhil good luck. Would be curious what you're up to. Been in startup for past 2 yrs myself.

    2. 1

      Good luck Nikhil.

    3. 1

Sounds good Nikhil, lets connect. DM?

    👋 Hi there! I’m Akhil

I’ve spent the last few years burnt out at fast-growing startups 😅. I learned a lot through those experiences, but it was time for a break. I wanted to work on something I was truly passionate about.

I'm going to spend the next year working on bootstrapping a profitable business.

Looking forward to engaging with the community. I'll be sharing progress updates on my blog to help build accountability. Here's my first post.

Hello everyone, I think I already wrote here, but I want to reintroduce myself anyway as I've just answered CS Allen's Questions to Ask Yourself, and it's the most honest thing I wrote in a long time and I hope someone can help me bounce ideas and find something to work on.
    Enjoy!

    • Questions To Ask Yourself (or The Best Thing You Can Do Right Now as I call it)

    • Liberty
    •
    • In an ideal world, what kind of life would I want to live, and what kind of person would I be?
    • Helping people unshackle their mind and follow their true self.
    • What would I like to change about the world around me?
    • The fact that we still have such a bad economy that doesn’t provide at least the very basic living standards for everyone. I don’t delude myself that all problems can disappear and we can all live happily ever after, but everyone should get at least a chance of being a normal part of a normal society.
    •
    • What parts of running a business scare or worry me? What parts excite me?
    • a) Losing focus and getting too consumed by trivial numbers, stats and businesses. Becoming the type of person I dislike so much.
    • b) The possibility of making an impact.

    Hi everyone!
My name is Saverio, i co-founded a VC backed business in 2014 (in the field of AI/Computer Vision with hardware) which we exited last year.

After doing product development (and software development) consulting for about a year, my late cofounder and I are now working on a new company (this time we won't raise venture capital) and we expect to develop and launch ~8 products (mostly digital) this year.

We work fully remote, both have a tech background and we expect to launch our first new product this week :)

    Hey IndieHackers,
My name is Pritesh Kadiwala and I recently graduated from Purdue University. I am originally from India and am currently working on my startup, Willeder. It is a an app where people share the lessons, hardships, and notable experiences they have had in their journey so far.
    My goal here:

    • Be inspired by this community and not fear failure. Basically, launch quickly and fail quickly.

    In 2020:

    • I want to be able to at least help 1000 people build a brand based around their journey.
    • Learn more about myself and be aware of my mental health while working on Willeder :)

As a side note: What do you guys think about this landing page? Would love any feedback tbh:

    Hi everyone!
    My name is Marius.
I’ve been a software developer for over 3 years now but I’ve always wanted to start a side project(ever before starting my career). This year I finally got the courage to start a software development blog(https://programmerbackpack.com) and to work on a few side projects.

My goal for this year is starting to earn some income from my blog and also building connections for when I will finally find a side-business idea that will make myself happy and motivated to work.

I am still learning about blogging and side-businesses and this is my actually most important goal: learn a lot and further develop myself as a software developer and maybe as an entrepreneur.

Thanks a lot for reading this and for building such a great community!

    Hi,
I have a BS and MS in Computer Science and have worked for a large and small company.
My goal is the finish my MVP and polish my web app to launch a beta in July. I've iterated on two prototypes over 2 years and have now zeroed in on a concept. I'm now serious about it and working on it every day to produce the MVP for the past two months and now have the main workflows and algorithms done for the web app. It will be a subscription service and I'm testing that at the moment. I have some ideas about the communities that will want my product. So far I plan on being a solo founder. The app requires more content to be developed so that is why I plan on a July beta release that will be sold at a discount and end of year full release.

    Hi everyone,
I'm Sydney. I currently work for a company that creates click-through demos. Before that, I worked at a small company that specialized in building WordPress websites and building web applications for clients. I have done a few freelance projects, but not any medium - large scale projects that I would consider businessworthy.

My goal in life has always been to own a business whether that be as a freelancer or a legit business. I live in the midwest and grew up on a farm. My family is rather tech-savvy when it comes to farm equipment and data-keeping which led me to my current idea of building a farm application. My main mission with the application is to allow farmers to have their farms in their pockets.

A few other goals I have are:
    • Learn more about marketing
    • Learn more about business in the technology world.
    • Create a network of other people who can help me further my cause (thus, I joined Indie Hacker)

    Hello everyone!

To state it briefly, I am looking for someone to come on board with my company as a co-founder that can bring the technical skills (Hybrid IOS and Android mobile application - front and backend) and mindset required. I would handle everything business and legal, as I have been. Although I did not take up on my business school acceptance offer at Harvard University, I am more than confident I have what it takes and need the same passion in the technical side.

Of course, this would be based on a mutual interest. The company is in event management aimed to revolutionize the way we host and attend events - with a industry disruption plan in place. Designs for the application are complete, as well as the full business plan, with the launch plan in progression.

This is all to state it briefly but if this is potentially something you would like to hear more about, I would love to set up a call.

Do not hesitate to reach out:

    Hey Everyone!

My name is Tony and I'm a full-time dad and software engineer/entrepreneur. I'm currently looking for my next venture and maybe some side gigs. At the moment I'm working on an interesting project in stealth mode. I'd love to learn more about success stories and connect to the community more.

    Hey everyone,
    I'm Will
I am just about to graduate university with a degree in CS. I am a software engineer in a RnD robotics lab, and have been accepted into a Ph.D. program for CS. I am interested in starting my own business because I want the freedom to work on what I want when I want. I also am interested in leaving the world of software and learning more about hardware.

I currently have no experience whatsoever in managing a business or monetizing a product even though I have built several apps and have a lot of experience with many languages, so I am really in need of help with the nitty gritty of starting a business.

    Thanks!

    Hi there, I'm Ismail,

I work in construction in Saudi Arabia but love building and growing software businesses in my free time. Started by own side business developing and selling enterprise software and services in the Middle East which has consistently reached six figures since 2014.

I want to partner in another SaaS business which is not a popular business model in this part of the world. Ran into Indiehackers by coincidence and love this place. Never thought I'd run into a community of SaaS developers and enthusiasts.

Looking forward to partner with a team building an interesting SaaS product. I'm bringing in capital, experience in B2B sales and basic knowledge of web development. If you're interested, let's talk. https://www.linkedin.com/in/ismailalkamal/

    Hi Rosie,
My name is Arvio, I'm SAP ABAP Consultant with more than 2 years of experience. I have been working in different modules of SAP like SD, MM, QM and FICO both functional and technical.
I joined this community because I like the idea to work on side projects, and currently I have started building a project on my own using JS.

    Thanks.

    Hello indie hackers!
I am Walter, a past entrepreneur and software engineer who turned to product management 3 years ago.

I have built a chrome extension to help people learning new languages while watching movies on Netflix. The extension allows to track and review what you learnt.

Currently I have a small paid users base (10 users) on a monthly subscription. The extension has a trial period.
I am now looking for effective ways to grow my user base.

Here it is the extension: http://tranflix.net

I decided to join indie hackers to keep me motivated and contribute to this amazing community.
I look forward to receive your feedback and suggestions :)

    Hello everyone,

My name is Stefan, I'm a London based web developer specialising in web and hybrid apps. Currently working for a web development firm creating custom Gutenberg-based WordPress themes for private clients.

A friend of mine recommended joining this community as I'm looking to start my own business. And while I have the technical know-how and ideas, I lack the marketing skills or the product ideas that will help me get going.

I'm currently very interested in the decentralised Internet and want to create decentralised apps badly so I'm looking for inspiration, partners in crime, or at least feedback on my own ideas.

    Cheers

Hi, I am Veselin. Together with my friends and colleagues we are building encrypted peer-to-peer mobile messaging and file storage APP which distributed and self-hosted. The project is called BitDust and open-source hosted on GitHub. We are looking for voluntary participation by smart Python and JS developers and also we need one super open-minded UX designer in the team. It will be fun together!

    Hi IndieHackers!
My name is Sharad, and signing in from Sydney (Australia).

I've discovered this community today through a product/service blog post that I absolutely love last 2 weeks (created by one of us here). I am very inspired by the likes of you all, that are bringing a transformation change in the world. How the timing of this change is so right.

I remember reading an interview of Bill Gates some 15 yrs ago where he said to a school audience:
"Watch out the for the guy you think is a nerd, is the guy that you will one day work for"
He goes on to elaborate how he thinks individual programmers, not big companies (from industrial or even modern era), will bring a transformational change.

    Proud of you all.

    Hello,

    My name is Joachim Brindeau.
I am a 28 year old french guy interested in everything.

I studied a Masters in Biotechnology, and one in Business Law, before getting really interested in building tools for my niche.
Now from a professional perspective, I worked in Germany and the US for a big pharma two years before getting a great job as legal officer of a small biotech in France. I joined an intellectual property counsel firm in late 2019 where I currently do technology transfers (patents, know-how, trademarks and a bit of copyrights now and then).

I am very available, feel free to reach out for Worldwide intellectual property questions or for french business law questions. You can talk to me in English, Spanish, German (rusted but working-ish) and of course French.

I have developped a tool with an IT student from Germany for my niche, I currently look for a full-stack programmer to work on it. It's not a technically complex tool but it feels a need in a niche I perfectly know (Biotech BD) and with a crappy landing page showing a console output, I managed to get 15 companies to sign-up in less than a week. If you have experience with SaaS and have some time on hand, feel free to reach out.

    Hope to hear from you
    Joachim

    Hello!

I have been a full-stack web development tutor for a couple of months now (through several platforms) and I'd like to branch out and try and start my own online tutoring business.

I enjoy doing this and my students have enjoyed my teaching style. I am willing to put it in the time and am hoping to find other like-minded individuals on the site.

Looking forward to working with you all!

Howdy! I'm Kurt, I've been working on internet infrastructure for a while. My current project is fly.io.

I love side projects and keep trying to build projects that devs will use for hobbies in the hopes that those hobbies will grow or the devs will take what we're doing to their day jobs. This is mostly because I want tools for myself, though, the dev UX has been lost in many places and it's amazing how complicated stuff is.

Hi everybody, my name is Bin. I am a graduating senior at University of Southern California.

I recently completed a PM position at FroG International where I led product-defining user research and oversaw the development of the MVP. I have also been working on a few side projects where I’ve launched and developed a currency exchange chatbot on WeChat, the biggest messaging platform in China, for Chinese international students.

Right now I have an amazing startup ideas in the area of young people habit building. I would like to share more about it with you.

Hi guys, Octavio here, Ex- VW, ex-Daimler who got tired of big corporate and decided to try again as a tech startup entrepreneur. I’m currently working on www.eaziapp.com and although I am still not sure if purely bootstrapped is the type of business that better describe what I want to do, it is definitely what better suits this stage of my business and I’m very interested in learning from the community.

    Thank you!

Hi I am here to connect with others and share ideas. I have a start up that is doing pretty well and I would love to bounce ideas and off of someone that is smart. but very driven and goal oriented that works well with others. and can potentially become a Tech cofounder In the company.

Hi I'm Mark-Anthony, I'm a digital product manager working for a large company and trying to stay in touch with the innovators and creators so I don't feel so corporatized.

  62. 1

    Hi, I'm Mike.

    ## Bio ##
I've spent the last 2 years working in the blockchain space. Raised $100k+ in seed capital and built a mobile app ("data marketplace" idea) which resulted in 10,000+ installs and 2,200 MAUs. While growth was good for a blockchain app (we were the #9 ranked Dapp globally), it was only so-so for a non-blockchain app and not even close to profitable. Sadly, it's still "crypto winter" so it's hard to get investment for non-infrastructure blockchain ideas. Thus, we didn't secure a larger seed round/Series A and my co-founder also tragically passed away shortly before we were about to undergo a major pivot (and also run out of financial runway).

I love entrepreneurship but need to find another project to work on. I have a few ideas but definitely need to partner up to make it happen. My co-founder was an ex-FAANG engineer and he did most of the programming. I did much of the business/marketing/product management and simple front-end.

    ## Background ##
I have a computer science degree and MBA (from a top ivy league school) but spent the vast majority of my career in finance/investment banking (not programming). Thus, I consider myself a junior front-end dev (or very junior full stack engineer). I've built simple RoR apps, web scrapers, a React Native Bitcoin wallet, and a chrome extension as side projects. I've also been on many winning hackathon teams such a $100k 1st Place prize team (and also a $5,000 and $1,000 prize winning teams). I am 3 for 6 at winning money at hackathons (I have a good idea of what "sells" and how to "game" things at a hackathon).

    ## Skills ##

    • Front-end development.
    • Product management

Other skills include early stage startup marketing and knowing a lot about a wide variety of business models, industry trends, creating a fundraising pitch and business plan. I'm currently experimenting with "no-code" on the backend to save time while in the prototyping product/market/fit stage. Definitely an interesting trend to follow.

    ## Knowledge Domains ##
General areas I have an expertise in include:

    • Blockchain
    • Fintech
    • Investment research / sentiment analysis
    • Economics / politics
    • China
    • Fitness
    • Tennis

    ## The Ask ##
I need to find a full-time job at this point for income purposes but I still wanted to work on something on the side.

    Ideally, I can find:

    • a back-end dev
    • a designer

I want to find some people interested in working on some side projects we all find mutually interesting. It may go somewhere it may not but hopefully we all grow our skills and get one step closer to our dreams.

    ## Contribution ##
I am pretty good at "business" stuff. If you need feedback your business model, market research or pitch deck stuff, I can help out.

Hi all! I'm Theunis and I hail from the dusty country of Namibia (that country that Trump once referred to as Nambia 😆). About a year ago, I took a job as a designer at a tech startup in my local town. Over the year I became more and more involved with the design of the company's apps, sites, and other products that require user interaction. I've come to love product design and now I find myself looking to help build on Namibia's tech landscape which is sparse, to say the least.

I'm not entirely sure how though. I've been thinking that I just need to start with a product build it up to a point where it makes money. Use some of that money for the education SWE and other technology-related education. Maybe even create a financial institution to aid in the creation of other tech startups like Y Combinator is doing.

Those are my aspiration in a nutshell ATM. I feel it's rather big but not a pipedream really.

    Hey IH Community,

My name is Todd. I've been serving as the freelance Director of Technology at a non-profit organization called Space for Humanity over the past year. I started out my career as a technical engineer in working in Information Security for the Financial Services industry, but I've taken a shift to focus on bringing emerging technology to non-profits and other social sector organizations who can't afford the high cost of technology expertise.

I'm a self-taught data scientist with only limited professional training, but working to bridge engineering and business worlds as a technical MBA focusing on impact-oriented monitoring and evaluation (M&E) solutions to bring greater transparency, accountability, and engagement to the fundraising [primarily donations] process.

I'm looking forward to engaging with this community of fellow hackers!

Hi. I'm Clay. I currently work full-time as a web (and occasional mobile) developer, but I'm toying with the thought of starting a side project. I've got a couple half-formed ideas, but nothing solid yet. I also wouldn't be averse to joining someone else's project if it looks cool.

Front-end Javascript work is something I particularly enjoy. I also do PHP and Node.js. And I like writing too. :)

    Glad to be here.

    Hi I'm Dean,

Mainly an engineer first that led me optimising and automating everything I do.

My professional skills are with natural language processing and natural language understanding.

After graduating from university I have worked for several startups doing analytics, engineering and NLP/NLU on chatbot focused systems.

Have a couple projects I'm working on right now.

My main interests is looking for a community of hackers interested in doing tech for good + artificial-intelligence with emotions + natural language processing + free and open source.

    Thanks

    1. 1

Hey Dean, would be curious what you're working on. I worked briefly on building a sentiment analysis reporting tool. If free, would like to discuss ideas. I know a lot about different industries.

      1. 1

I have some several on the go projects right now. One is a writing tools designed with neurodiversity in mind and another tool to lens through media publications to help extract facts. If you're free it would always be good to get another perspective and discuss ideas.

    Hey everyone,
    I am Dinesh.
I have been an Android dev for 7 years now but my real passion is to dawn multiple hats and create something beautiful from nothing.
I was the cofounder of a startup before which did news summarization and it was the best time of my professional life. My cofounder lost interest in the idea and we had to shut down the startup.

In 2020 I want to build something which will help me reach Ramen profitability.
I look forward to interacting with all you wonderful people and getting inspired.
    Cheres to a great 2020.

Hi everyone! My name is Luka. I'm web developer with more than 7 years of experience. I've been working in agency and startup environments and got bored of being focused on specific dev things and having no say in how a product development should be managed, or how the product itself should work and many other things... Now I want to test the waters with a few ideas I had for a while and see if I can make something profitable.

My name is Edmund Cinco. I'm a filipino computer programmer living in the Philippines. I'm a fan of entrepreneurship, programming, and technology.

I currently operate a small tech firm (5 years now) which is there to provide various kinds of Information technology related solutions to my clientele and customers and also aid for API and CHATBOT development to small and medium-sized enterprises.

    Hey gang!

I'm Stefan. I'm an entrepreneur, turned moderately successful entrepreneur, turned failed entrepreneur, turned moderately successful product manager, turned website flipper who is finding his entrepreneurial mojo once again! :)

A while back I founded an Ecommerce retailer which had a few awesome years before stalling out a bit. I sold the business on Flippa, where I actually work now as Head of Product here in Melbourne, Australia.

My side-hustle is simple: I buy, sell, and trade websites. Some make money, some don't. Some I flip for a profit, others I hold onto as investments. Some I pour money into, break even, and I can't seem to let go of :) I love it.

My current portfolio includes DeluxeSaunas.com, ExplainMyProduct.com, Mugwomp.com, VapingForums.com, and a handful of others. I'm always spinning up something new, and am here to listen, learn, and teach what I know.

If you're ever considering selling your baby,* I'm your guy!

*By baby I mean your biz/project/website. Not your actual baby :)

Hi! My name is Alfiya. For 1 year or maybe a bit longer (always difficult to say when it's started exactly) I'm running my own business in the GeoTech industry. So we offering APIs and solutions that help to create custom maps, visualize data with geo component and build location intelligence solutions.
The first development phase is done. However, the business does not evolve as fast as we would like. Of course, there are reasons for that. And the main one is that we are only 2 co-founders and both are with tech background.
My goals for the nearest future are:

    • to get more experience in Marketing & Sales
    • learn how and where to present our products
    • adjust offers and conditions of our products to the market needs
    • learn how to get first paying customers for our products
We also will be happy to onboard new co-founders with the Marketing/Sales/Business background to complete the team. Contact us if you are interested in - [email protected].

Hello. I'm in the eCommerce industry (t-shirts, costumes, and other related merchandise) since 2008. I also have been creating online communities since 2005, and currently have a community with 2 million users. I'm looking for help for ideas with monetizing the community, along with working on a few new eCommerce niches. I'm not much of a writer so thought I'd keep it short and sweet. Look forward to meeting some nice people here!

Hey everybody! I'm a full-stack developer / entrepreneur looking to leverage my programming skills to build a SaaS! I've started three startups in the past and none of them grew as fast as I wanted, so I moved on to another idea each time.

I just launched Seven Day SaaS today, which is a platform that will hopefully help hold me accountable to actually finishing a SaaS mvp so I can start selling it soon. :) https://sevendaysaas.com.

    Hello,
    My name is Yahya Titi,
Am an Android and iOS Developer,
Been developing since 2005 and started Mobile development in 2010, I helped many companies build the products that they dreamt of, and I feel I should start focusing on my own apps, I have few apps with almost no downloads, some apps with around 3k users that drives a 100$ income once a year, I can work on web backend and can find my way in web front end. I found this website through reddit and been reading random posts. Hope I get a good experience here.

I am an accountant from Argentina (focused in tax matters, mostly for US and Europe countries) who likes to learn about programming in his free time. I also manage a couple Wordpress websites in my free time.

I would love to be better at automating tasks. Currently I do it using R scripts at work who are executed manually, but I believe there are open source tools that can be used along.

Not currently planning to launch a business, but who knows, maybe I can do something interesting an profitable with my hobby.

Regarding programming, this is what I know so far:

    • C++/C#
    • R language
    • SQL
    • HTML, CSS and some JS (no JS frameworks, unfortunately)
    • Wordpress (I mostly use Oxygen Builder to make websites, and starting to play with ACF Pro)

Hi guys, my name is Bryan. I'm a 33 year old full stack developer, engineer and entrepreneur from the States. I live abroad in France and mostly do high-level work for clients. After having taken a break from the entrepreneurial lifestyle for the last 3 years, I'm refreshed and ready to jump back in head-first. I'm here looking for potential partners, motivation and camaraderie as I begin a new journey. If you feel you relate, hit me up and we'll have a chat. I'm open to anything. The world is a blank canvas ready to be painted.

    1. 1

Hi Bryan, I do product management and front-end dev. My last startup (mobile app) had some limited success (10k install, 2,200+ MAUs). I have a few ideas of of my own but willing to help you brainstorm on your existing ideas as well.

Wow! A lot of people starting out here.
    Hello.
I'm Viktor - I have a diverse background based around marketing/communications/business/management. I have two projects I would like to build and get off the ground > one is an educational tool focused on future of work and remote working > the other is helping people choose tools for privacy protection.
Both have research and novel insights behind them and I believe they could generate revenue after some time, but my main motivation chiefly is not getting to a profitable level, rather just to learn, help people and participate in more communities (like this one!) - then we will see.
I don't have any coding skill or engineering background, just some limited HTML/CSS/SQL knowledge, so I plan to learn more about the no code options and put together two MVPs from scratch with Airtable/Webflow/Zapier/Bubble?

    Hi everyone,

My name is Diederik, I've been developing tools since I was 12 years old. I sold my first saas company at 16 years old but became addicted to the daily grind on my favorite game. Since the beginning of the previous year, I'm back at it, trying to build something that would be beneficial.
Thanks for allowing me to join the community!
    Take care
    Diederik

    Hi folks!
I'm Emal, from France. I already built a startup and this time, I'm doing the next one by myself. I was more the biz guy but no-code tools are just amazing, I've been toying around with Bubble for a while now and this allows me to build and iterate quickly, it's perfect.
I'm launching a tool (just in french for now) dedicated to the "fodmap diet", it's a diet for people with specific diseases (IBS and others).
Just started charging my first users, I have 14 customers that chose the Premium subscription (it's a freemium model), the community I've been building for a year now starts to be worth it.
I'm then learning everything related to Stripe, MRR, ARR, churn, I have to work on my landing page and I'm really interesting in talking to other founders in the nutrition/diet field to share knowledge.

    Hi,

    My name is Pedro.

After 14 years of launching, running, and selling a digital marketing agency, I found myself stuck working as an executive director of one of the big 5 consultancy firms. Although it helped my self-esteem, it destroyed my creativity. In 2019 I quit my job.

I spent the last months tinkering, and now I'm actively working on my first project. It's an app to audit dozens of checkpoints on a website and make a report to non-tech profile professionals.

After buying a website, you can use this tool to check if all the best practices were used. And you don't need to have technological skills.

Besides this, the app will provide all the technical details to fix eventual issues and a monitoring system to monitor the website uptime and digital certificate validity.

    Thanks.

    Pedro

Hello Everyone! Beaming here from Berlin, Germany!
My name is Ashish. My background is a mix of Data science and engineering with Backend development. Have worked in multiple startups up until 2018 when I decided to co-found a startup. That startup has not taken off and I am looking out for new projects right now.
I am currently super interested in the space of smart speakers and have a rough idea of what I want to build next in that space. I will post in the right channels for feedback from you all.
    Cheers!

    Hey all!

My name is Ivelin and I'm the founder of APId ( https://www.getapid.com/ ). This project started as a simple declarative end-to-end testing framework almost 6 months ago, and since I've found a co-founder to assist with coding the project. It has also evolved in terms of features and scope, having an open source CLI and a SaaS in the making.

We're going strong, though we're doing this in our spare time outside of work poses a bit of a challenge.

I feel like 2020 will be the year to make something great and I wish all our hard work pays off!

    Thanks!

Hello everyone! I'm María Albert. A researcher and strategist by trade, with a background in communication and innovation consulting.

For the past 5 years, I have specialized in inspiring world-leading brands and entrepreneurs by giving them strategically curated inputs to help them create, transform and grow.

Along the way, I have found stories, ideas, and learnings too uncontainably interesting to keep to myself... things I wished I had learned sooner and in a simpler format.

This is why I decided to share them and create The Takeaway, a weekly short newsletter with concise and insightful lessons from world-class performers about life, business, culture, and innovation.

I hope I can find a great community of creators I can learn from to grow my project and impact more people :D

I'll be happy to connect with all of you!

My goals for this year include:

    1. Growing lvlup to a profitable business.
    2. Learning more about creating businesses from scratch and the challenges it includes.
    3. Learning more about marketing and selling an online product/service
      ... and more.

Hi all, my name is david. A few years ago i tried to develop a mobile apps to help people with depression but after a year i realized that i'm not a very good programmer and i need to outsource the development or recruit a team of experts to help me develop it.

Not much capital that time so i decided to work full time again to save some capital. It's been 4 years now and got an itch to start something again but not sure if i want to develop app or maybe do something more traditional like building a dormitory and rent out rooms. Since i'm still not sure, now i'm honing my programming skill again in case i want to go app dev again.

Hope i can find like minded people in this community so we can encourage each other to pursue our passion and enjoy real freedom someday :)

Hello everyone my name is Vincent,

With my friend Jordan we have built Flamingo Filter: https://flamingofilter.co
The goal of this project is to provide unlimited augmented reality filters for Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook for a flat month price.

We want to help agencies and influencers to build augmented reality experiences on social media. We are convinced that augmented reality is the next big thing and that it happens right now inside social media through the use of filters.

    Our goals in 2020:

    • to get our first 25 clients
    • organized the second "Paris augmented reality influencers show" a meetup about AR on social media to teach people about AR. Our first event: https://youtu.be/7cV2V--GdXk

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you want to know more about augmented reality on social medias.

    Have great day :D

I am a Front End developer with industry experience building Admin Templates and web applications. I specialize in JavaScript and have professional experience working with React and Redux.

    Hi Everybody,

    My name is Abby.

    I have two objectives here

    1. Make friends, see what projects exist on here, help people with idea generation and marketing strategies.

    2. I recently just finished a contract and found myself with some free time and now my builder gene is acting up. So i started working on a project to build a platform to help people get steady side hustles. The main focus is Africa. If done right, I believe it could be transformative for markets in Africa.

Right now i'm learning how to code and trying to put this project together but running into so many issues. Maybe i'll find some mates here and hack this thing together. I'm not so much worried about business models and financial gain as i am interested in seeing if something like this can truly create value for lives.

    Hello Rosie,
My name Greg. I have been a software developer for about 20 years and I absolutely love writing code and building application that help people. I have been working for a company for just over 10 years and its just not for me anymore. Like I said earlier, I want to build applications to help people and I don't feel like I have a voice at this company anymore.

I started writing a project management application a few months ago and I am having a difficult time staying motivated. I thought by signing up here I could find some people to share my excitement for writing code and building applications.

    Hi folks,

My name is Tomek. I'm a front-end dev for at least 8 years now (~13 years if counting part-time). I'm not afraid to do some backend work as well unless it's in node ;)

I very much suffer from "a new shiny thing" syndrome which doesn't help in finishing projects. I'm about to release my first product which should be extremely easy for users but has many moving parts: browser extension, mobile app, web app and the server of course.

I hope to find here motivation and motivate others.

    Good luck fellow indie hackers!
    Tomek

      Good Tomek. Keep pushing forward.

      1. 1

Thanks Greg. Fingers crossed for your project management application. Do you see the light in the tunnel? How much left to push it to a wider audience?

        1. 1

No light. I don't have any users so I'm not sure how good it is.

    Hi all,

Patrick here, I started and am working on Globo (https://www.globo.earth), which helps people go carbon neutral with a monthly offset subscription. It then helps them reduce their footprint with personalized, data-driven recommendations and monthly tracking.

I've just recently launched the MVP and am constantly working on improvements, so would love to connect with and brainstorm ideas with anyone interested or working on something similar.

My goals for 2020 are to get 500 people to go carbon neutral, participate in an accelerator, and hire the first employee(s).

I love the wide range of content/topics on Indiehackers, so I'm looking forward to chatting and collaborating with everyone!

    Hi Everyone,

My name is Uzoma and I am currently a Sr. Ops coordinator at an ecommerce startup. I was a bio/pre-med major and graduated from Amherst in 2017. I decided that I didn't want to go to med school and instead shifted to the startup world. I've spent the entirety of my career focusing on logistics, customer success, and experience. Basically, I like to make sure things get done and come up with solutions that are not only beneficial for the customer but also help build brand and customer satisfaction.

I've worked at startups throughout my career but have never felt like I've had something of my own that I'm deeply invested in. I want to either help grow an that I can really sink my teeth into and become a part of but struggle to think or develop something concrete.

If anyone is working on a project and is looking for someone to bounce ideas off of or anything along those lines, let me know! I'd love to help out in any way that I can.

Looking forward to interacting with you all and becoming a member of this community.

P.S: I'm a fan of computer building, tech in general, esports, and the psychology behind how experiences shape your perspective.

Hi, I’m Billie. It’s a pleasure to meet you!

I graduated from UCLA in 2012 with a BA in English/ Minor in Philosophy and worked at an office after graduation. After a couple of years, I came to the realization that I wasn’t feeling too fulfilled with what I was doing.

I took the initiative to change that. I quit my job and decided to change my career path. I wanted to go into digital marketing and enrolled in some online classes, got certifications, and took on several apprenticeships with small businesses.

I'm currently freelancing and have taken on clients that have had me work on several things such as brand development strategy, graphic design, content creation, copywriting, and social media account management. I've also freelanced as a virtual executive assistant.

In my spare time, I like to watch things on several different streaming services, read, play video games, listen to podcasts, and go hiking.

While I have found freelancing to be rewarding in terms of experience and meeting great people, my goal for 2020 is to find an opportunity that will give me the chance to enhance my marketing skills, learn more in general, and challenge me - while providing more structure and consistency.

  118. 1

Hey everyone, I'm Sam. My background is in brand strategy and I'm currently heading up the community team at a startup that's building a new, more organized group chat app. Excited to be part of the IH fam and learn from all of you!

    Hi everyone,
I'm Ina and I'm co-founder of a digital marketing boutique agency. We hep clients from the high-tech B2B software industry drive more traffic to their websites and increase their leads/sales volume.
Our super power—we translate complex technical products and services into accessible, easy-to-understand digital content and sales pitches.

    My goals for 2020 are:

    1. Streamlining my business in a way that it allows me to work remotely at least 4 months per year. Using this time to travel, kitesurf, ski, or just living at places that are closer to nature. I'm writing this intro from the Dominican Republic, where I've spent two months already, so half way there:)
    2. Increase my revenue with 80% compared to last year (my first year of consulting) by selecting/pitching to customers that are able to afford our premium services.
    3. Develop our agency brand as well as my personal - I'm also teaching and doing training. My big personal-professional goal is to start producing more written content.

I was looking for a content sharing platform when I stumbled on indiehackers, but I might have found a community of like minded people.

    Best,
    Ina

Hi Everyone. Steve here. I'm an entrepreneur/builder/solution architect in the healthcare and healthtech space. Really interested in nocode software dev and machine learning tools like RapidMiner. Also starting to learn more and run experiments in the media, newsletter and content space.

Hi Everyone, This is Preeti. I am new to indieHackers and excited to be part of a community of like-minded people. I am Toronto based. I have always loved fashion but hated the process of acquiring it. I have spent countless hours in stores and Online to get things for me and returned everything in end. That's how the idea for "StyleBanks" was born to hire professionals in the same field.

This is a fashion marketplace for people who don't have time to shop or don't know where to shop. This application will allow them to see fashion stylists/ influencers and pick/ work with them based on similar tastes/groups. I have got enough interest from the supplier side of this platform and have started reaching out to potential customers.

I will be launching MVP at the end of this month. and goal is to have 500 people sign up.

To make this launch successful, I would love to hear the feedback that this community have for my platform and any suggestion on making this launch successful would be very helpful :)

    Thanks so much.

    I'm Tom.
Just recently got into start-up space . I'm currently spending most of my time working on a side-project and learning tech(Full-Stack JS) needed to get it off the ground :)

Happy to be a part of this community!

    Hi everyone
I'm Benji and I'm the founder and CEO of a Saas community platform. I used to be a trance DJ before realising I couldn't connect with my fans properly on social media. That's why I set up my own community platform - to help others who were experiencing the same problem.

We're going to be launching our new product soon and my goal for it is to get 10000 people to have signed up for it before it has been launched.

To make that launch as successful as possible I'd love to hear the feedback that the Indie Hackers community has for my own community platform - your insights would be hugely valuable.

    Thanks everyone!

    Hi Rosie,
My name is Mohan, I have close to 3 years of experience as an iOS Developer, proficient in Swift, Objective -C, and Python. I am currently working with a fintech company.

Hi, firstly, glad to be here - reading through some of the introductions, seems like a diverse mix of really cool people.

By background, after dabbling in banking and private equity for a few years, I started an online printing company which got acquired by Vistaprint. I am currently building kaamwork.com; an idea to empower anyone to work from anywhere.

If you're thinking remote work, you are directionally right but I am struggling with how remote work is currently perceived and operated today. The very word 'remote' feels oxymoronic to the idea of a globally connected team. Well, remote by definition means "far away and disconnected".

Maybe I am being too literal, but I am here to start a conversation around what the future of work should really look like and what we should call it - the idea behind kaamwork is to make it super simple to find jobs (or find colleagues if you're the company) that allow you to operate from where you want to maximize efficiency - that could be an office a block away or a company several timezones away (especially, if you like t work late in the night and can give perfect overap despite the distance)

Checkout kaamwork.com and share your thoughts :)

    Hi everyone!
My name is Vadim and I'm a software developer. I'm kinda a professional dilettante since I worked for many projects and with various software stacks but never stayed at the same place for more than a year.
My goal is to start a project that can become my main source of income and where I set goals and priorities myself. It seems that I'm unable to work continuously on tasks set by somebody else...
So I'm looking for some of:

    1. Ideas on what a solo software developer can build to make a living
    2. Projects to join for a short time
    3. Short-term contract work in the meantime to get by.

I have a very vague idea of a "Tinder for everything / as a service" app where users can rate anything and receive relevant recommendations. I would like to discuss this idea and what can be done with it.

    Hello,
I'm a British student currently studying in Malaysia and I am looking for a side project to support a life that is location independent, as my girlfriend is working internationally in schools around the world.

I wanted to learn code, but it is not my strong point. So I decided I need to set-up an online business without code.

I've been listening to the podcast for a while now and thoroughly enjoy it.

I have many ideas that seem impossible to reach without coding ability and therefore have reduced my dreams down to non-coding ventures.

I have started a few things here and there but haven't worked.

I have a year left of University before I have to either find a job in Malaysia or starting my own online profitable side business.

I'm hoping I can meet some amazing people through IndieHackers, who can help guide me and teach me the ropes of the online business world.

    Thanks

    Josh

    Hey people, I am Andreas.

My dream has always been to start my own business and even though I am a bit late to the party, I only started recently working on something.
"I guess it's better late than never" and "it's never too late"!! My wise grandpa told me yesterday that "where there is a will, there is a way"!

However, my carrier path kinda destroyed my growth as a developer, so now i am trying to get started from scratch.
Started (re)studying Laravel, as I worked with PHP before and I love it, so why not make it clean and tidy.
Another technology I love so much is JS and NodeJS.

Any suggestions on how to marry everything together, or any tips and tricks to get started quickly are greatly appreciated!!

My goals for 2020 is to get up and running with my very first project and start earning some money.

Thank you all for having me!

    Hey guys, Im JW.

Im an entrepreneur from SEA, born in SG. Built and exited 2 businesses in '17 and '18. Since then i've been taking it slow, splitting my time between dabbling in crypto and angel investing and running a small agency for startups with the folks who stayed on with me after we exited

2020 is an important year for me, as I want to double down on what I already do in crypto and angel investing, while venture building again. I am aware it is going to take A LOT out of me so I've been doing a lot of prep work, both mentally and physically.. now just looking to rock and roll.

I'm available at [email protected] if anyone needs pointers on growing your biz or SEA market (im not versed in all markets - Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia is OK for me, I wouldn't feel qualified to advise on the rest). I do less angel investing now as I've only a little powder left so I'm a load more selective, but I wouldn't mind being pitched if you think you've a good product in health/wellness/lifestyle/productivity hacks/education. I love talking to fellow crypto enthusiasts as well.

    Have a good one!

    1. 1

Hi JW, congrats on the 2 exits (nice!). I co-founded a blockchain Dapp for past 2 years (10,000+ installs and 2,200+ MAUs) but not profitable (wasn't a gaming/gambling app) and didn't end up raising anything beyond a small seed round. Would love to connect and see if we can leverage our crypto experience and contacts to other interesting projects.

    Hello!

I've been building highly scalable software systems for a long time now, some for startups, and some for telcos. I do love a bit of entrepreneurialism!

I'm looking for some neat side-projects that I can use my skills with. I mostly build things with AWS, Go, TypeScript, Java and such. I'm particularly interested in building developer tools, but open to other things too.

    Hey gang -

Long time lurker of entrepreneurship and indiehacking forums, but first time starter. As a bit of background, I work as a consultant at an IT firm and do a lot of product management. I also have a background in data science.

I'm frustrated with constantly thinking about new projects and ideas but not keeping myself accountable to them, that's why I've joined IH. I want to challenge myself and my co-founder to make daily progress on the project and keep the community informed.

    Goals in next 30 days:

    • Identify opportunities and brainstorm MVP candidates
    • Identify set of features for MVP
    • Plan the build
    • Consistently update IH and other forums (daily/every other day)

Looking forward to the challenge! If you guys are interested in following our progress, check out http://www.mylanderpages.com/indiehackingchallenge/Landing-Page

    Hey Ben from NYC here!

I am a full stack developer in my day to day adventures.

Hoping to start a small profitable project from one of the number of ideas that pop in my head from time to time and one day grow that project or another one into a business.

Maybe I can get some guidance on how to get these ideas on paper and then to a functioning application.

    Thanks

I am Ivan, .NET developer from Ukraine. After 4.5 years of work as a software developer, I decided to begun work on my project. Hi Everyone,

I'm looking to build a modestly profitable app + blog combination. I'd like it to apply my programming skills to support a domain I really care about. I plan to run it on the side of my day job.

Impact goals (2020 area of focus):

    • create a fast, seamless, and pretty iOS time-tracking app centered around mindful investment and appreciation of your time this week.
    • launch a niche blog with a voice and strategies to support working mothers. Give them a space online that rises beyond false dichotomies around "career vs family". Include specialized articles about mindful time tracking, fitting in exercise, creating sustainable sources of energy, handling daily work tasks efficiently, curating long-term career capital, and mindfully appreciating and growing key relationships (with kids, partners, friends, family).

Financial goals (less important for 2020):

    • $500/month of revenue by the end of 2020
    • Not sure what my model is for that goal -- gotta work on that a bit! That's why this financial goal isn't as important as my impact goals so far.

Thanks to @rosiesherry for curating the community, and @csallen for creating Indie Hackers!

So glad to be here and meet all of you!

    Hello everyone,
My name is Bernardo Borges from Portugal .

I've started a instagram page for the sake of learning new things and I found intersting the idea of documenting my discorveries in a social media, for some time I just posted about the projects I've done and engaging with the comunity about coding topics.
But recently I've started a Youtube channel with the intent of extending my content beyond posts.

My Goal for this year is grow both my channel and instagram page as a business,
the thought of creating a business have been in my mind for a time now , I've read some books and watched some videos and I want to try to be my own boss and maybe for the same reason many people are Indie Hackers :).

I think there's a lot of room to improvment on many aspects and I'll be using this website to document my journey and learn from other people.

    Many thanks everyone,
    Bernardo Borges

    Hi,
My name is Naoki. I am a 21 years old college student in NY.
I've recently started to get into programming since I started to think that I wanna move from the point where I am consumed by technology to the point where I use technology as part of my life. In that sense, the best way I thought to achieve my goal is to get into the tech industry, so here I am!
I've been learning Python using VS code for 2 months atm. I'm interested in web development and data analysis related to politics since I'm International Relations major Economics minor. My short goal is to learn Python using VS code while hacking my life using it such as website automation.
My long term goal is to make my own web service.

    Hello fellow Hackers!

TL;DR - working on my future with the focus on automation (mostly via g suite for now) with the plan to become an independent consultant/dev helping other companies optimize and automate their work

I'm Chris and I'm currently working a boring 9-5 (they asked me to come back and I was willing to, as a start-up I was working previously started turning to a toxic environment and well... I got a better offer for more $ and about 5x less work!)

Considering the fact that my current job is pretty much a telecom project that will end in approx. 2 years, offers no real growth and requires minimal effort (I could literally sit and watch youtube all day...) I decided to challenge myself and work on my future.

What currently bothers me regarding my work scope (they call it sales, but due to a very limited group of customers it's more about checking service availability and preparing agreements with absolutely state fixed prices, so I can't even negotiate anything or proactively look for more customers) is how the people that were hired to fill my absence after I left ran things. Sometimes they would need to create eg. 80 service agreements and they would come in the morning, fill each .doc SEPARATELY and MANUALLY, which naturally took a day or two, so I've decided to focus on automating these mundane tasks using the g suite and Google Apps Script.

Most self-taught programmers (or after bootcamps) have relatively simple portfolio, like a website, basic CRM, possibly some games, etc. My belief is that what I'm working on right now is slightly more advanced, which should give me a bit of a head start with the fresh competition. Here's the functionality of the GAS & G Suite system I'm currently working on:

    • responsive web-app that's easy to use on a daily basis by field technicians (mostly to check current service order, generate pdf handover reports (used to be done manually...) and mark the date when a service has started
    • CRM with rather complex pricing formulas and discounts relative to the population where the service is provided, generating offers, possibly connecting with tech ticketing API (they are using osTicket), billing/invoicing (full on, including assigning different services to separate categories with different payment due dates, as well as the ability to easily create corrective invoices), reporting and forecasting
    • Network inventory management fueled by a geolocating service to gather census info about local population (re: discounts)
    • Notes & changes will all have timestamps and info on the user who added the note or made a change
    • E-mail alerts when an agreement is less than 90/60 days from ending & about services that a customer signed an agreement for, but have not started yet
    • full document management (folder structure, pdf generation, uploading scans)

Note that my predecessors have been doing all of the above manually... smh

Stuff used in the process: Google Apps Script, G Suite (drive, sheets, docs), JS, jQuery, Bootstrap, Datatables all managed and version controlled with Visual Studio Code using clasp

Started a couple of months ago pretty much from scratch, so keep your fingers crossed as I'm definitely planning to utilize my newly acquired skills and knowledge into my future biz.

    Hi Indie Hackers,

My name's Wilson - I've been following the IH movement for a while, and recently made the move to quit my permanent job, pick up contract work, and start building out my future as an independent developer and content creator.

I'm looking for creative and technical fulfilment, and to create meaningful tech that I’m proud of.

Or maybe I’ll just buy a barn in southern France and spend my days making pottery and eating good food. Who knows ?

    Hey!

My name is Conrad and I'm a 30 year old full stack developer, living in a van, traveling in Europe and focused on building an awesome product.

I just discovered Indie Hackers community and it really seems the good place for me to be.

I've learned so much in the past years... I love the whole process, the creativity, the freedom of entrepreneurship. I can never go back to being employed.

Working on my current project, I felt something strange. At some point I felt like everything I learned before was so I could do what I'm currently doing. It just felt right.

    My 2020 goal is :

    • Launch my product
    • Build a community
    • Reach 15000 $MRR (around 500 customers)

    Hi community,

I'm Hector from Sydney after running a small business I decided that wasn't what I wanted to do with my life. I used to be a software developer (front-end) but I just couldn't stand the pressure and the lack of work life balance which gets trickier with a little one.

So, to make the story short I found you guys through ProductHunt and I want to learn as much as I can but I need a bit of structure and find like minded people.

    Goals for 2020:

    • Create a sustainable income stream from online website
    • Learn the tactics of "growth hacking" and apply them on my side project related to decentralized finance
    • Contribute/share what I'm learning in a personal blog

Any ways, nice meeting you guys and I'm very glad to find you

    Cheers

    Hi everyone,

My name is Tiffany. I attended a full stack boot camp a couple of years ago and had to stop part way through due to the hectic gauntlet of life at that time. I’m looking to regain the knowledge I once had and to start my own business where I can finally get away from being the busy worker to the one who’s in control of my own professional path and can decide on what I want, when I want, and how I want to do things. I want to create my own work life balance and make sure the things that are important to me are my priorities and not someone else’s.

I have quite a few ides and I’m looking forward to making them a reality and making them functional products the people actually want and love to use.

    Hello,

My name is Josh and I'm looking into launching a AR/GIS mobile application aimed at outdoor enthisiasts, search and rescue, and possibly construction.

I have worked in the US aerospace industry for 12 years and a 3 year stint in the computer vision department of a mobile sdk vendor. I feel I have learned all I can at my current position, and it is time for something different.

I am looking to evolve my personal projects into actual products, and help everyone enjoy the outdoors.

    Hi everyone!

My name is Tejas. I quit my job in Oil and Gas to become an IndieHacker. I learned how to build web apps in Rails using online courses. I've already launched few products, but without any success. Customer acquisition and sales is where I struggle. After listening to few podcasts here I'm keen on building my next product using no-code tools such as Webflow.
This community has given me so much inspiration and motivation. So glad I found this website. I hope to connect with many on this platform!

Growth is often where indie hackers struggle, you are not alone!

What are you aiming to build next?

      1. 1

Thanks! I'm building a business directory that has a modern responsive layout and an option to embed a company introduction video.
