Welcome to Indie Hackers! 👋 (December 2019)

Courtland here. Welcome! 👋

This short guide is meant to help you get the most out of Indie Hackers.

First, introduce yourself!

Indie Hackers is a community for people building profitable Internet businesses. The key word here is "community" — to get the most out of IH, you'll need to speak with and learn from other IHers. Don't be shy!

For starters, take a second to introduce yourself in the comments below.

Just say a few words about who you are and why you're here. I encourage you to respond to others as well.

Dive into learning.

We've interviewed hundreds of successful indie hackers. I recommend starting by reading a few of their stories. It's a great way to get an overview of what's possible and the huge variety of paths that different people take.

(I also put out podcast episodes if reading isn't your thing.)

Every founder begins with a different level of knowledge, but learning never ends. It's good to do a little bit of reading upfront, but don't get stuck in a pure learning phase for too long and let that hold you back!

Next, get started!

Once you've got a little knowledge under your belt, the best way to learn is to do. And there's no better time to do than right now.

Take a look at some of the products your fellow IHers are building.

And while you're at it, create a page for an existing product you're already working on, or perhaps for an idea you have in the back of your mind. It doesn't have to be perfect. In fact, it's better if it's rough and simple. The important thing is take at least a small baby step to getting started.

Your product page is a great opportunity to get some practice building in public. If you want others to care about what you're up to, one of the easiest ways is to share the story of what you're building as you build it.

If all you have is an idea at this point, that's fine! Make a post on your timeline about the idea, how you came up with it, and/or why it excites you.

Pick the part of the community that resonates.

The Indie Hackers community is vast. Here's a brief summary of the different ways to participate:

  • Do you enjoy looking about other IHers' products and helping them celebrate their wins? Take a look at all the milestones that people are posting.
  • Need some help with a decision you're making or a project you're working on? Ask for help on the forum, and feel free to tag someone you've seen helping out in other people's posts.
  • Got some lessons or advice to share? Make a post on the forum. The better the advice you share, the more followers you'll get, and the more people will read your posts in the future.
  • Craving some in-person interaction? Head to a meetup in your city, or start one of your own.
  • Interested in a particular topic or specialty? There are lots of groups for you to join, with new ones coming every week, e.g. Developers, Growth, Digital Nomads, Podcasters, and more.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, but I hope it helps you get started!

If you're ever feeling lost or confused, post in the Meta group and tag our community manager, @rosiesherry.

Don't forget to introduce yourself below! 🤗

    Hey all!

I am Bugra from Linköping, Sweden. Recently launched episolo.com, where you can access experienced & affordable startup mentors, especially recommended for solo founders.

I am a web dev & ML researcher. Joined Antler incubator recently to find a co-founder, but unfortunately couldn't. Therefore I decided to go solo, will spend a few months to turn my ideas into successful products. I'm starting with episolo.com as I've succeeded to gather ~60 amazing mentors. There will be other products including a finance app and an app to promote podcasting. Let's begin, and glad to meet you all!

    1. 2

Hello, Cool project, I think it’s a good to a dedicated place for startup mentor ship. We will look into this.
      We are Sweden too!

    2. 1

Beautiful design. I am in Sweden too. Let's connect

      1. 1

I am glad you liked it. I liked also Barbra very much. Sure, let's connect!

    3. 1

Hi ! I like the concept, I wish you luck !

  2. 5

Hey. My name is Andrew and I am from NJ. I know, but we aren't all horrible (Cough) Newark. I am working on my new startup Yourhomeworkplanner.com and am looking for co-founders.

    1. 1

Mate, just saw your site. Do add an SSL cert to that if you're planning. And maybe design a better landing page cos the one currently in use doesnt tell how or what the project is. Ping me if you'd like my help to collab.

Hello I'm Jessica, founder of www.monadd.io. I have moved a lot hence my service bringing automation to address updating. It's only available in the UK only for now, but as an expat American in the UK I want to make it global. I'm looking to connect with ohter founders and also see if there are opportunities to collaborate.

    1. 2

This is pretty cool. How hard would be to expand to other countries?

      1. 1

It's not incredibly difficult but definitely need the team in place to support various countries and languages.

        1. 2

I move often within Switzerland. And I see many people around me who do the same and would love this. It's really pretty impressive how people move in modern economies actually (just shows how fluid job markets are for people included in the active workforce).
How can we help you? ^^ (full disclosure: I had this idea many years ago, but just did nothing about it. Thanks for your -and your team's- efforts =) )

          1. 1

Ah so awesome! Send me a DM with details on your background, there are a number of people who sign up to help and end up being really helpful. We are planning to launch in ProductHunt in January and preparing for that at the moment :)

    2. 2

This is a great idea! I move often (in the US) and updating my address across accounts is a pain point

      1. 1

Awesome. Yes, US market is on our line of sight, but one step at a time 💪

    Hey all!

I am Eran from Tel Aviv, Israel. Recently launched Golocateme.com,It's a QR Code that you can put anywhere that can provide all necessary data; name, age, medical restrictions, and guardian’s contact details.
Scanning the Code will also track the location of the scanner (and the lost subject) and automatically notify the guardians by SMS and email.

I am a media buyer. In my free time, I am trying my luck with a side-projects, not as a developer but as a product manager and marketing.
I and my partner started Golocateme.com as s need for our own and thought that more people can benefit from it.

Right now we don't have users , and I am trying to learn how to make the site growth.
I know that the site visually not perfect, we wanted to see first if it is relevant at all.

Thanks for advance for any feedback.

    1. 1

Just checked it out. Nice project. Would advice you to add paid custom tracking functionalities like live location sharing, automated whatsapp, telegram triggering bot, etc for the object. Might make it more interesting for future investors. From what I've seen the project is quite reliable however ease of access to the status of object alongside a proper project development and adding a remuneration plan for the project might be a good idea.

      1. 2

Thanks for the feedback, you have some insightful ideas.
We are working now on a new pricing module and some UX improvements.
Hoping that this will boost our user base.

      2. 2

        Solid idea! Best of luck.

Hey there people, I'm ehmprah, a developer who is passionate about making games. My current project is called Core Defense, you can find out more about it at coredefense.ehmprah.com

    1. 1

Hey Mario, good work on the game. Looks great. Would advise porting it for mobile and adding remote multiplayer functionality later on. Cheers mate

      1. 2

Hey there and thanks! The mobile versions will be coming soon actually... ;-) But I definitely won't do any multiplayer: Core Defense is a spin-off from Coregrounds, my previous project, which was a multiplayer game, which failed for many reasons I've outlined in a blog post here: https://frgmnts.blog/f/how-not-to-make-a-game.html

    2. 1

Hi Ehmprah, I'm an iOS developer from London, I worked on an iPad app called Kids Love Maths https://www.d-app.online/kids-love-maths.html and currently working on an Augmented Reality sports game app. which platform you use to make your games?

      1. 1

Hi there and thanks! :-) I build my games in JavaScript and use Electron and Cordova for packaging them.

      2. 1

Your game looks great by the way!

Hi, everyone! My name is Grafton, and I currently live in Bristol, England. I recently left my role as Head of Marketing at an insurtech in Chicago to start something of my own.

I (very recently) started safarigrowth.com as an avenue to help solve real problems - my current skillset is largely marketing and growth, so this is a chance for me to lend my skills to help companies and organizations that are solving real, currently intractable problems in the world.

I am looking forward to learning from this great community that I've been lurking in for awhile now (oops), and can't wait to share ideas.

    1. 1

      Hello Grafton!

I'm working on marketing efforts at Cloudrepo.io - will be interested to hear how safarigrowth.com is marketing!

      1. 1

You might want to ask your designers to debug the header navbar for your site mate. It kinda messed up the site initial display.

        1. 1

Thank you! The message has been passed on :)

    Hi everyone!

I'm Jack from Brooklyn, NY. I run Podcast Review (podcastreview.org), a website that publishes reviews of podcasts and interviews with podcasters. Most of our traffic comes from SEO, and I'm currently building a weekly newsletter and trying to grow our subscriber list.

Been a big fan of the Indie Hackers podcast for a while and I'm excited to learn more through this community. Always happy to chat!

Hi, I'm Mikolaj from Poland, big shoutout to all of you. I'm a web dev / online teacher / indie things lover (comics, movies, music -- you name it). I'm really curious about the idea of indie hacking. Would love to build a few apps and live as a digital nomad. Looking forward to learning something new and meeting cool folks here :-)

Hey! ChromeTools here. I finished this Chome extension for following and unfollowing users on Medium [1]. I built this because I was looking for one myself and didn't find one. This was my first Chrome extension, but now that I've built one I've got some other ideas I'd like to move forward with, to include additions to this Medium tool if enough users find the tool useful. I've also open-sourced the code and will continue to do that with all the chrome extensions I build in the future [2].

    Hey everyone!

This is Felix from Hong Kong. I'm an Entrepreneur, Community Builder, and Growth Marketer. Currently working for Techstars in Greater China and Taiwan region.

I've co-founded and led 4 tech startups, particularly in growth positions. My data science background drove my curiosity to the startup community and eventually spending most of my time in growth marketing and user experience now.

I'm happy to contribute any topics for early-stage startups, accelerators, growth, UX design. Ping me for a virtual coffee. Cheers!

    Hi everyone

I’m Aurelien from London. I spent the last 9 years in investment banking and venture capital. I am now consulting for startups and SMEs.

More than happy to discuss funding / strategy and share my experience.

My goal is to learn from the community and create a website that helps small companies contact potential partners (commercial, investors, advisers, etc.) from around the world within a few seconds. User would first input what he/ she is looking for (eg find food distributors in 15 selected European countries; find all Series A investors who have backed a SaaS startup in the last 3 years in France; etc.) and then an algorithm would pull data from a huge database, then user can fine tune his / her lists, and send specific messages to selected targets. This would drastically reduce the time required for a manual search and outreach.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

    Thanks
    A

    Hello everyone!

What an awesome community you form here (must admit I've been browsing a while before I started to write this comment).

My name is Marian, a software developer and a hobbyist game developer based in Brno, Czech Republic. I'm an eager self-learner, a huge fan of Udemy, looking for a way to turn a side project into a profitable business. My original background is web and graphic design.

    PS: love the podcast

Hi Indie Hackers! My name is Bruno and I'm Software Engineer from Miami, FL.

I'm currently working on a side project called GitInLog.com, where you can compose and maintain the release notes of your app based on your git commits.

Looking forward to be part of this great community!

    Onward and upward!

    Hi there,

I'm Martyn, based in Bristol UK. I've been a professional UX designer for 10 years and got annoyed with the current state of design tools. They just aren't good enough! For a whole bunch of reasons.. Anyway, I started to build a new type of design tool that allows designers to build interactive prototypes quickly without needing to code. It's just so complicated that I've given up multiple times already, only to pick it up again a few months later.

I'm here to possibly find people who share in my views and want to help me or help others with their projects. Looking forward to meeting you all!

    1. 1

Hey Martyn, welcome, I feel your pain! Hope your project works out as we need better tools for designers (",)

    Hello IH community!

I'm Nancy from North Dakota, USA. I'm doing business development at CloudRepo.io, an artifact package manager. We support public and private repositories, specifically Maven and Python. Developers choose us over our competitors when they need a simple solution (vs. more complex or feature-rich options).

I'm new to the tech industry (1 year new), and I'm looking to meet others. What I'm most looking forward to is learning from everyone. CloudRepo is a 3 year old company, we're always looking for ways to improve and grow.

  19. 2

Hello, I'm Bastien from Bordeaux, France. I'm starting as a freelancer in software development.
I intent to find other freelancers here at IH to collaborate on bigger projects than I could tackle on my own.
Looking forward to learn a lot and make friends

Hello! My name is Matt - I'm a middling designer & developer (mostly front end) from the South Coast of England.

For a long while I've wanted to start something (or things) to eventually replace my full time income. I have lots of ideas but nothing has really 'stuck' - I have made a start with my store Grand Prix Art (https://grandprixart.co.uk/) but my enthusiasm for it has stalled a little in the last few months.

I've joined indie hackers because I love the podcast, and I'm hoping to be inspired by other members, and to get a kick up the bum to keep going.

  21. 2

    Hi everyone,

My name is Cristian and I am a 25 years old entrepreneur/web dev/game dev. I recently became "jobless" so I looked at it as an opportunity to to turn my side-project into a full-time one.

My product is a self-hosted analytics platform: usertrack.net, it is supposed to be a more affordable and private solution to services like Hotjar, ClickTale, Mouseflow and the rest.

I am currently planning on improving the current product and marketing it better, but I was a bit overwhelmed by all the possible options so I decided to join IndieHackers to see how others successfully create and launch their products. I look forward to reading and sharing experiences and tips within this community!

  22. 2

Hi everyone, I'm Quinn from Ontario, Canada. I am currently a student studying business and computer science and will be graduating in August. On the side, I develop indie video games, if you're interested follow me on Twitter @BellringerQuinn where I talk about my games, other's games, and mostly pose thought provoking game development questions to engage with the community.

I joined IndieHackers because I am interested in broadening my horizons as an indie developer/businessman. Some projects I'm interested in are: trading bots, video game bots/bot farms, and YouTube channels. I'm very interested in artificial intelligence (although I don't know much) and automation. My go to languages are C# (with Unity), Python, and newly Kotlin.

Other hobbies I have are: karate, reptiles (I hope to potentially breed reptiles one day), video games, and movies.

I look forward to reading what everyone is up to! I hope to find inspiration from all your stories, the good and the bad!

  23. 2

    Hello all,

I am Román from México (I reside in Arizona, USA). I'm currently working on gamebrary.com an open-source tool to help organize video game collections. I'm mainly looking for overall feedback (needs a lot of work), UI/UX, as well as ideas on how to monetize my tool. I have daily users that use Gamebrary to organize their video game collections. I want to turn it into a business and I don't know where to start.

Open to collaborations, meeting new people, and overall being part of this community!

  24. 2

    Hey, y'all!

I am from San Jose, California - born & raised. My company is https://www.vesselathletics.co/. '

4 years ago I got into long-distance running and found no easy and comfortable solution that would allow me to bring water during my runs. Everything water wearable product was too heavy, flimsy or not hands-free so I thought, how what if we could just integrate a hydration pack into activewear tops and BOOM that's how the idea for Vessel Athletics came to be.

After years of prototyping and testing, I'm happy to announce that we'll be officially launching our product in the Spring through kickstarter.

Although I'm creating software or selling tech product, I've faced and am still facing many of the common founder issues that most face. Prototyping, working with manufacturers, bootstrapping, getting others to believe in your vision, etc.

Anyways, looking forward to connecting with some motivated folks. Let's bounce ideas off each other. I'm even looking for a co-founder in the apparel/design space who loves to run or at least understands the issue we're solving so let's connect!

  25. 2

    Hi IHers!

    Hi all

I'm from Brisbane Australia. I have a background in UX and Development. I'm also a MIT Bootcamp alumni (intensive course on entrepreneurship from MIT focusing on Disciplined Entrepreneurship). I've been wanting to create a small company focusing on quality SAAS products for a while now and am hoping to achieve it this year.

My interest is in personal improvement and most of my ideas are things I would use myself. For example a tool to help me remember names, or something to help me keep in touch with friends.

My first project will be a rebuild of an old web app I did so I can get an understanding of how long these things take.

I look forward to being apart of this community

    Cheers
    David

    Happy new year everyone!

My name is Mark and I'm a solution architect, working for a local bank. A close friend suggested that my talents were being waisted in my current role and challenged me to try step out and do something on my own.

It's been a while since I've done some solid development but I'm keen to return to my roots. I also plan to use this opportunity to up skill myself on cloud tech and learn about how "Start ups" operate.

Look forward to interacting with some of you as we journey together. :-)

Hi everyone, I am Jay from Toronto, Canada. A little about me, my first serious attempt at coding was 2 years ago when I coded Python for about 3 months, but other than this I'm a noob. I work in sales but I've never really enjoyed it and I'm here to learn and I'm here to gain a skill in the only field that will be relevant in the future.

  43. 1

Hi! I'm Nick from Peacehaven, a small town on the south coast of England near to Brighton and about 100km/70 miles south of London.

By day I code Java, Python, Javascript and PHP along with the use of cloud computing service expertise for an international client, where I am a dev lead.

I have an idea which I have started coding: The ability to play vinyl records without needing to touch them. This idea came about when I renewed my love of listening to LPs but discovered my teenage self had not actually looked after them! You know, scratched records unable any longer to properly play the music I love from my younger days.

My 'utopian' innovation quest is, therefore, to play records using photographs and/or video playback of the vinyl surface. I want to achieve this with minimal hardware, and software that even a Raspberry Pi could run to examine the photo or video of a vinyl record and (after some time in the RPi's case 😁) write an audio output file faithfully reproducing the original recording.

I'm already getting some results but a way to go.
    Profitable? Unsure. Needed? Certainly!

    Cheers
    Nick

    Hi everyone!

I'm Joe, and I recently launched my new startup https://socialplanner.io. SocialPlanner is a web based tool for finding, planning and publishing content to social media.

Packed with a ton of features, our aim is to help users establish an online presence through content marketing on Social Media at an affordable price.

Excited to be here, and looking forward to connecting :-)

      Hey Joe, some feedback:

Looking at your landing page, I'm not sure what your product does. You mention finding content on Facebook or Twitter, but as far as I can tell no company has access to Facebook's data and a firehose from Twitter costs hundereds of thousands of dollars per month.

I'm a one man operation and your tool seems like a tool to help teams stay in sync.

It's unclear how your tool can help me.

    Hey all,

I am Adrian, a software developer, from Bern, Switzerland. I've been developing a bookmarking tool for Developers & Co - https://www.bookmarks.dev

I guess I have joined the community to meet like-minded people, to share the project with you and get some feedback about it. I've got a good vibe just by posting this comment, so let's see!!!

P.S. I've just added the community to the public startup, side-project and community bookmarks - https://www.bookmarks.dev/tagged/side-projects

    Hi everyone,

My name is Iraklis (means "Hercules" in Greek), I am originally from Greece, and I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I have been building Tech products for over 10 years now, mainly in startups that started small and then ended up leading their market (group buying, e-commerce, financial products aggregator, etc.) and also launched two startups myself (zanedo.com and recently loclpal.com). I am a web developer (most recently Node.js and all sorts of front-end and DB technologies) and also an architect, passionate about automation, containers and very well versed with AWS. And of course, having run my own startups, I have also got my hands dirty with basically everything an online business requires to run: customer support, business development, content creation, marketing, you name it :-) Whatever it takes to build something that adds value!

I'm currently looking for my next product to build, after many lessons learned (especially around validation and over-engineering what should be a prototype). I'm really keen on launching a micro-SaaS product, and I am now on the lookout for viable ideas from my own experience, pain points, and circles that I am involved in.

Looking forward to chatting with you all, it's great to join your community!

    Iraklis

    Hey there!

I’m Steve, a software engineer currently in the food technology space. Now being full-time employed and feeling slightly financially secure (is that really possible while living in SF?), I’m excited to explore what new passion projects will continue to fuel and drive me (and hopefully meet cool and awesome people along the way).

If you also enjoy talking about sneakers, streetwear, ice cream, food, writing code, photography, or mental health, let’s chat!

    Hey folks!

I'm Zach, from DC. I recently launched Oatmel - https://oatmel.com/ A tool to help folks AB test their life.

I'm a full stack developer. I have a little dev shop where I build MVPs for early stage founders that have little resources.

A friend told me about this site. I've generally always just used HN for a while. This site seems like it has a good community too. I look forward to being part of it.

Hi all, I'm Matt, a self-taught developer from Memphis, TN. In my day job I work with big data, but I have past experience with a startup where I did full-stack web development in Python and cloud architecture on AWS.

Although I'm mostly happy with the course my career is taking, it's always been a desire of mine to escape the typical corporate track and build my own future. I've created several small scale projects including a web scraping service, a machine learning product, and an algorithmic music generation application, but I've never pulled the trigger on monetizing them and putting them in front of potential customers.

After recently discovering Courtland's podcast and listening to the first few episodes, I've come to the realization that one of the things that may be missing for me is a sense of community, as I don't have anyone in my social circle who shares my goals or interests. I'm hoping I can draw inspiration from the awesome work being done by so many in this community, and bring something to the table as well.

    Hey all,

I am Rohan from India. I am a data engineer, previously a web developer. I am here to create an awesome product or join a team focussed on social impact.

    Hello all!

My name is Florian, I'm currently living in New York City. I work as a consultant and analyst in emerging technologies applied to financial services. I'm also a novice photographer on the side and I'm looking to build more photography skills in the future as well.

I'm here because I want for a little while now to launch some type of online product or services (idea to be determined...) and I think I need to get started on it. And, from what I see, the best way is to just jump in and see how it goes.
In order to do so, I'm learning on the side full-stack development (I'm a big fan of full-stack javascript so far... thoughts?) and I might try my first project using those technologies (so far: angular, next.js, node.js, express). Would love to get feedback.

    Talk to you'all!

Hey guys. I'm a web developer and an entrepreneur at heart.
    A friend calls me a Tech-preneur, lol.
I joined IH because i wanna build programming solutions but not for a company, for myself and for people who will get to use it. Right now i'm working on how to get a great internship abroad (Canada or UK or US) hopefully with a big company, for the experience. Anyone got any pointers?

Hey everyone! I'm Mandy from Canada. I'm joining Indie Hackers because I finally managed to put together a landing page for my project Alpha Chat - here it is: www.thealphachat.com. Alpha is a chat app that allows you to lock messages for fun and lead conversations!
I learned to program mostly on my own, and I enjoy putting together fun projects in iOS and Android. I'm super excited to chat with the community here!

Hi, I am Toni. For the last 10years I'm working in the information security domain (mostly app security and malware classification/analysis). I have done a PhD on malware classification using ML methods. Currently, I am mostly in ML and generating new ideas :)
I am glad to meet you and exchange ideas.

    1. 1

Wow, a PhD sounds quite impressive! As someone who considered dabbling in ML (total beginner), do you have any tips? Thanks!

      1. 1

Thanks for asking, I do have some.

        1. Start small and with basics . You should have some basic math knowledge of Linear Algebra and Calculus/Analysis. This will help you a lot, and speed up the process of learning.
        2. Pick a Coursera course (Andrew NG - Machine Learning or Deep learning specialisation are good) and try to understand the fundamental stuff (regression, classifcation etc.).
        3. Pick a project that you wanna solve in your domain of interest. For that pick a library of choice (Sklearn, Keras ,... ) and try to solve and document it. If you get stuck Google it and ask others :)
        4. After that, try to expand your knowledge by reading relevant books and papers. Then go again to step 2, ML is a broad topic so be persistent and try to have an open mindset to learn new things.

        Good luck :)

Some of books I found useful that will not overwhelm you with math concepts:

        1. 1

Awesome! Thanks for separating your tips into steps! I'll definitely use these resources.

My name is Maher. I am launching a fund to acquire SaaS businesses that generate no more than $10K MRR.

I exclusively focus on SaaS businesses serving small businesses with no more than 20 employees.

I am looking forward to hearing from founders who are ready (or considering) to sell their SaaS businesses because their interests in life changed or they don't have the means to grow it or don't know know how to take it to the next level.

  75. 1

I'm excited to be here. Coincidentally, I listened to a couple of podcasts recently of people building small businesses and they all mentioned the impact of IH.

Hi! I'm Elijah from Michigan and I'm working on my project called HookActions https://hookactions.com. Hey, I'm Max. Born in Venezuela, raised in New Jersey, lived in Beijing and Koh Samui, and now I'm in Puerto Rico. I've been a freelance web dev for over 5 years and I've recently built xrloaded.com using rails and I keep building it out and reaching out trying to get it going. Exciting but not new, I know. I'm standing on the shoulders of giants.

    Hi! Stephen from Chicago, IL.

Working with a few friends building a new social network oriented around accomplishing your dreams. Attempting to amp up privacy and ramp down distraction.

Primarily interested in using Clojure, CQRS, juxt/crux, and libsodium. Still new to the last 2. Haven't yet figured out the mobile side.

    Looking forward to meeting folks!

Hi, I’m Michael from NYC. I’m an iOS developer looking to do a small-scale business, and/or freelance work. If you have any really difficult problems in your mobile development, you want a quick audit of your app from a senior iOS dev, or you need help with high-level architecture and framework choices, let me know! Most apps I come across have low-hanging fruit for big wins.

You can see deep dives into iOS on my blog, https://medium.com/@michael.eisel , and some of my projects at github.com/michaeleisel

Hi, I'm Will from Detroit. I'm currently working for a fortune 500 bank, but I'm mainly focused on a startup called Zai, that will hopefully be a big thing in interior design.

    Hello! My name is Patrick!

I'm a full-stack software developer and UI designer with 10+ years experience. I've been a digital nomad for the past 2 years and looking to start or join a small lifestyle business with like-minded people. I started an Airbnb rental business that's been running for over 4 years and consistently earning $800,000+ in revenue per year. Industries I'm passionate about include politics, artificial intelligence, hospitality management, and video games. In particular, I'm interested in ventures that have an ethical basis in trying to make a legitimate difference in the world... I'm not interested in working with people that use manipulative marketing tactics or focus on tuning UX metrics towards addictive behavior.

I'm currently being paid to work as an open-source project manager and web/mobile team lead in the artificial intelligence space, particularly related to federated learning. As a co-founder of this community (https://openmined.org), we've grown our Slack community to over 6,000 people from over 60 countries and nearly 4,500 stars on Github (for just our most popular repo).

I work remotely, but more or less split my time between Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, and Nashville. I'm particularly interested in working as the product lead in a two-or-three-person team with a like-minded growth hacker or digital marketer. I'm fully capable of being either a developer or a designer - a jack of all trades, and master of a few. ;)

  83. 1

Hey there, I'm Mike and I'm currently living in Vermont. I'm developing a SaaS based automation platform to help system administrators handle repetitive tasks, and allow them to focus more on projects. The application infrastructure will be hosted on AWS. Still in beta, but I'm looking for a cofounder. I have my first client demo coming up, and I'm extremely excited.

    Hey All,

My name is Manju. I am in early stages of ideation of a peer to peer employee feedback app. The core idea is that people respect and look for feedback from peers, especially if that feedback is private (not shared with the world).

I am an engineer and a data science guy. Looking for thoughts on "peer to peer employee feedback" - essentially want to ask the community is my hypothesis right (people respect and look for feedback from peers) or could be right with some tweaks or hopelessly wrong :)

If the hypothesis fascinates you and would love to work together feel free to reach out directly to me.

    Thanks
    Manju

    Hi everyone,

it's Sebastian from Germany, been working as full stack dev for several years. Looking for a side project I can turn into a business step by step. I like the idea of bootstrapping.

My strengths are analytical thinking and problem solving, I'm rather weak when it comes to marketing and sales. I prefer a simple, pragmatic tech stack and would not hesitate to use a prebuilt solution/product to take a shortcut or keep focus on the core business.

My goal for end of next year is to reduce my working time as employee significantly while still being able to pay my bills. I'm looking for problems to be solved, and I think there are plenty of them. I'm confident that I will find something to work on with the help of your community.

    Cheers

I am from India. I am working as a software engineer with expertise in analytics, data engineering, and data science. I had many years of strong experience in building data products in the cloud. I recently launched a consulting startup (datasyde.com) to exclusively work with startups and data-driven entrepreneur. datasyde is differentiated by providing the expertise needed through consulting as a service model. In this way, startups don't have to hire as an employee with the huge initial cost, don't have to rely on freelancing who work in a silo, the company can use our team on-demand basis based on the product roadmap, etc. We help them to build prototype ideas, data platform, customer analytics and bridge the gap of data expertise needs in their organization through a cost-effective pricing model. I am joining indie hackers to learn from others and grow along with the startup community and get more motivation

Hi Courtland and everyone, Merry Christmas, i've joined as i'm looking for some advice/feedback/early adopters for a little Business Social Media site i have created that is dedicated to the business community. I was sick and tired of the current business SM site as it has turned into a resume and job site and the other main stream SM are kind of geared towards personal users so all kinds of fake news and trolls overlook exciting business news. I'm hoping your community could help with advice on gaining users and getting feedback on the design and features. Thanks and looking forward to speaking with you all. oh i nearly forgot its https://www.shub.one

Hey, I'm Andras, living in London, UK, developer experienced with both back and front-end side. I'm working on several freelance projects currently, which makes me busy. I used to have many side projects, but none of them turned into a business. Here to read stories and get an idea of how to make it happen.

Hello everyone! It’s Richard from down under in Auckland, New Zealand. I worked for a couple of startups over the last few years - I am now starting my own as a side little project and becoming an indie hacker. I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback in this community - that’s why I’m here. Have a look at my project at https://www.getdatapipe.com - it’s in private beta. Cheers, thank you!

    Hi all,

My name is Mo; I'm a mostly self-taught developer based in Toronto, Canada with about two years of experience coding mostly in Javascript on both the front and back ends (React & Node/Express). I've built projects using noSQL/GCP (Firebase); I've also used Gatsby for my personal portfolio site. I'm currently working as a freelance web developer.

There is a lot more I would like to learn as a developer; I'm currently making my first forays into learning Python and some other frontend frameworks (Vue, Angular) as well as trying to pick up more knowledge about AWS, Docker and other types of databases (mySQL, Postgres). I'm keen to learn more but feel like I've hit a wall with self-teaching and would love to team up with anyone who's up for learning some new things and building something interesting that we can add to our developer repertoires. Looking forward to meeting people here who are looking for the same!

    Aloha,

I'm Fred, a French guy who live in Tokyo, Japan.
I created a company there 8 years ago, and after success unfortunately followed by many mistakes, I'm thinking about going back to the roots of what makes me happy. Working on "human" size project and enjoy environment without any VC around.

I come from the video games industry, and used to be an engineer for about 17years. I however worked on some project during my freelance years that involved saas, app ..etc. I love everything about tech.
I'm here because I wanted to be connected with people sharing the same passion I have in working on small project while trying to make a living of it. I believe that the best way to do it is to be open, discuss with everybody and help out each other.

While I'm working on a personal e-commerce, I'm thinking to start working on a content curation micro saas.

That's all for now. Looking forward to discuss with everyone! Let's connect!!

SEEKING TECHNICAL CO-FOUNDER AS EQUAL PARTNER

My background is in SEM-PM-QA and I’m good at wireframe design, requirements, attracting users and fundraising. I have thoroughly researched an idea to solve an untapped area of local online search—Very desired consumer info that Google, Yelp and others aren’t providing. After multiple attempts to build the solution with developers as a side project for them, I’ve learned how to get this desirable content, users and how to monetize it. However, I need a technical co-founder that shares my passion for the problem-solution and really wants to sink their teeth into something that could be huge. I have a great-relevant-short-generic domain-logo that is trademarked, clear plan, wireframes, requirements and initial database for the market I live to dominate first before scaling geographically. I’m looking for a technical cofounder that can build native mobile apps using location services and mobile push alerts that would ultimately be able to handle millions of users. Please contact me if you’re open to learning more about the opportunity.

I'm currently a product manager at a tech start up, building a mental health app. In some ways, being a product manager feels like running a start up within a start up, and I'm here to share ideas on all things app-related: design, growth, community building etc.

    Happy to meet you all!

    Hey hackers!

this is Victor from Spain, a full stack software engineer for more than 20 years already 👴🏻👴🏻😂😂

I am bootstrapping a SaaS for helping e-commerce sites create their mobile apps on appstore/googleplay.

There are many technical problems to solve for doing this at scale, but the ones I’m most scared of are The sales-related ones.

Can’t wait to share my experience with the community, and achieving my goals with your help!

    Thanks, Courtland

I'm Leon from D App Online Ltd based in London. I started this company to make iOS Apps and Web Apps (PWA) for my company and for others indeed of a mobile app. I have a keen interest in Augmented Reality and Machine Learning and technology in general.

Hey all! My name is Mitch!

I'm from the Deep South, USA. Over the last couple years, I've developed my career in cyber security using tools that incredible developers have created to make the world a safer place. I decided recently to flex my entrepreneurial muscles and to start creating tools of my own!

I've never done SaaS development or web development in general, so I'm going to be documenting my journey both on this platform and on my YouTube channel as I grow. I'm not going to post that link here, because I'm a believer in organic growth, but consider following me on this platform to check out my progress!

    Happy hacking and happier holidays!

Hello all, nice to be here.

I'm Ton from Manchester, England - a developer seemingly stranded in the 9-5(:30) grind with ambitions and desires to make my own way.

Don't really fancy being another web developer with mithering clients and would much prefer to create some form kind of SaaS.

Have been developing a few personal side projects which are not really viable for monetary gains. Here for inspiration, engagement and collaboration opportunities.

Hi everyone! My name is Dan Willenborg and I'm the co-founder & CEO of AptAmigo (aptamigo.com). Our mission is to make renting an apartment as easy as booking dinner.

We started as a detailed apartment review website with thousands of reviews on everything from WiFi, shower pressure, and elevator wait times, but realized that there were two fundamental reasons why renting an apartment is so difficult: (i) there's infinite bad/stale data on Craigslist/Zillow/Trulia/Hotpads, etc. and (ii) Leasing professionals and landlords are unresponsive and don't care. (https://www.google.com/amp/s/blog.aptamigo.com/10-insider-tips-for-finding-your-perfect-chicago-apartment/amp/)

AptAmigo is Apartment Experts Who Care.

After spending 15 months as a traditional leasing broker in Chicago, we learned that providing excellent customer service at scale to clients was impossibly difficult under the traditional leasing broker or building office models. We spent countless hours convincing clients to work with us (our services are free to the renter), losing deals, validating apartment availability over phone/email, and touring thousands of apartments with our clients.

What we learned was that client fundamentally care about finding an amazing place to live that's a great deal and working with knowledgeable helpful people who care about that same goal.

AptAmigo's model takes the traditional leasing broker role and splits it up in to three unique teams that function as an assembly line. We have full-time sales people who build relationships with clients and collaborate with them on the best possible deals/apartment for them. An operations team that internalizes the hours it takes to schedule a full day of apartment tours. And a touring team that meets our clients to support them throughout their day of tours.

Everything about our operation is powered by our homegrown CRM and collaboration tool that only has the most up to date and accurate listing information available to our team and clients.

Our guiding principle is that high quality data and excellent customer service drive everything we do.

We've been fortunate enough to help thousands of happy clients (check out our google reviews) and expand beyond Chicago to both Denver and Atlanta, and hope to launch Nashville and several other markets in 2020.

I fundamentally believe raising only a small family/friends round and then managing to profitability has been critical to our success to date and would love to talk to anyone about benefits of a capital efficient mindset.

    Excited to be here!

    Hi all!
I'm Marty from Australia, currently based in Seattle, Washington and I'm a former dev, current technical program manager. Last year I started up raicho-lodge.com, a ski lodge in Madarao, Japan offering 9 boutique guest rooms close to the slopes and less than 2 hours from Tokyo by bullet train.

I'm looking for the scalable opportunity that inspires me to take the leap to full time indie, and currently investing time in a couple of side projects: one that helps small businesses set and track goals that are aligned to their strategy; another that helps small businesses evaluate prospective employees cognitive abilities.

Looking forward to meeting some great people and sharing the journey!

    Wow what a great group.
My names Adam from Melbourne, Australia. Currently focused on building my data consultancy company Make Data Useful to help fund and free up time to build SaaS products combining lots of interesting data sets into meaningful insights people can use. Python is my main go to language.

I'm Stephen -- originally from Melbourne, Australia but I've been living in Ukraine for 10 years already. I'm looking forward to see what I can learn here (even contribute to). I'd never heard of your site but found it when I Googled on picking side projects and how to turn them into businesses. I was a coder over 10 years ago and have been delivering projects or helping build startups since. It's time for me to relearn to code and do something more for myself in the future!

The rollercoaster ride of an entrepreneur made me hack my own journaling Google Sheet which I now want to bring to an app. It’s called “Punkt” and is a one-sentence journaling app that helps you to learn more about yourself. Just finished the landing page https://punktapp.me for it and would love to hear your thoughts.

I'm Eric. I live near Tampa, Florida. I minored in Computer Science 3 decades ago in college, but only briefly worked in a programming environment. At 55, I want to develop an idea or concept, leaning on my business background to do so. As I feel my way around Indie communities, I'm hoping to get some direction as to a development platform or front end to learn. My goal in here is to find something I can latch onto with excitement... something that ignites a spark.

    Hi everyone:

I'm Richard from Orlando, FL and I'm the co-founder of StreamKick.com. StreamKick is a discovery platform for live-streaming. Think of it like a robust search engine for finding Twitch streamers without browsing hundreds or thousands of useless thumbnails. You can also rate and review streams, which will improve your matches and the matches for the community too.

We've recently launched and we're working to spread the word, and also to introduce live-streaming to people unfamiliar with the concept. We're mainly focused on building more functionality for our Premium members (i.e. paying streamers) to help them to develop their channels and grow their communities. Marketing is ramping up so we can continue to acquire users and build out the profiles for more streamers.

Feel free to drop by and hit me up with any comments you may have. Looking forward to meeting people!

    Heya,

I am dennis from philippines. I am a web developer who really likes to travel.

For a long time, i have been this idea in my head, and now i much more energized to execute it bit by bit. However, i am really not quite sure if my idea fits on the market. My idea is under the category of travel industry (think about an uber app, but it's a travel pooling), travelling to a particular destination are very in demand here in my country,so i want to leverage it. I am now starting to build the mvp version of the app to at least showcase the core idea of the product that i've been wanted to build.

Looking forward to learn something new and meet new awesome folks here. :)

I'm Crispin from Perth, Australia. I recently launched gammon.io, a html5 webapp where you can play backgammon. Either against other people online, ot against a very tough CPU opponent! If you enjoy backgammon drop in and have a game.

I run a little devops consultancy at epiccastle.io and have decided that it's time to scratch my own itch and solve some of my own devops problems that I experience day to day. Have been inspired by the IH podcasts with Taylor Otwell and Evan You. I'm now working on a tool to help simplify devops work with an idea of following the path of these two: start with an opensource project and build a community around it and then see where that leads.

I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from fellow Indie Hackers and getting their feedback along the way to help me build and grow a community.

    Hi,

I'm Gavin from Wakefield, England. I've been working part-time as freelance full stack dev for the past couple of years, with 2-3 days a week at a 9-5.

My freelance successes have been a bit of a mixed bag, so I'm hoping I can pick up the skills I need to really grow.

Currently I'm working on a Laravel package for a simple CMS I can just add onto sites I'm developing. The aim is just to make my life a bit easier, I plan to open source it.

I'd also like to get on with a website maintenance solution I've been playing around with for a while, that's stalled at the minute though.

Looking forward to seeing some cool projects, learning some new skills and connecting with some great IHers.

  168. 1

    Hey There!

I'm Ryan from SF - I have more ideas than I do programming skills but I love to learn new things so I'm looking forward to getting into the code/no code movements and share some ideas and projects that interest me. I'm sure there are similar ideas floating around here and I look forward to seeing what others are working on.

    Hey folks!

I am from Puerto Rico, but find myself residing in Pennsylvania. My passion for creative work, food and travel literature led me to work as a cook/chef for six years. During that time I also served as creative advisor to various ventures my friends were undertaking and founded a brick and mortar electronic's repair shop. The shop closed in 2017 due to a severe weather event.

That same year I decided to reinvent myself. Looking to expand my knowledge I became a college student again. That decision changed my life. As my mental horizon expanded I settled on software engineering as my major. And oh boy. What a ride. The people I've met, the books I've read, and the concepts I've examined have made this phase of my life more than worthwhile.

I'm a little more than halfway done with my degree. Right now I don't have any product to promote or any service to offer. I just want to bounce around ideas, give feedback, and be part of a community of go-getters.

Looking forward to exchanging thoughts with the IH community!

    Hello all

I am beginner web developer. I am passionate about web developing but recently finding it hard to come up with ideas to work on. I had built a small PHP chatting app a long time ago that I stopped working on because I did't think it would be useful for people and recently made a small fitness website for a gym which I ended up not giving them cause I thought it wasn't good enough.

Now I want to work on a idea that is actually useful for people and I am passionate about so I can give it my full effort.

    Hi everyone,

My name's Jerome and I'm a web developer looking to start focusing on building out some of my ideas into fully fledged businesses.

  177. 1

    Hello new friends!

I'm Tim and I live in Maryland, USA. I've been listening to Courtland's podcasts during my commute recently and I've become a huge fan of what's going on here at IH! I feel like I've gotten such an education from these podcasts in a very short time.

I've been developing enterprise software and managing dev teams for many years. I've had the "Digital Nomad" dream for a long time now and have only this year started taking concrete steps to make my dream come to life. I'm interested in bootstrapping - venture-backed stuff has no appeal for me (been there, done that with startups). My goal is to have one or more small software-based businesses generating consistent streams of revenue by the end of 2021, if not sooner. I've identified several niche ideas and I'm excited about getting your feedback to help me, as I move forward in focusing on a particular target. I'm also interested in continuing to educate myself, so that I can avoid the landmines and try some creative ideas I may not have considered on my own. And, I want to contribute to this community, as I grow and learn as well!

  178. 1

    Hello, beautiful people!

Marina's here. I am a global trade manager at one of the most amazing audacious companies ever existed on earth.

I am passionate about personal development, mindful approach to finance, business and wealth management. I am thinking to start sharing my trading journey which made me the person I am.

Born and raised in Moscow I relocated to the Netherlands at the age of 22. I have spent most of my life living in fear, blame and regret, worrying about survival and victimizing myself, money and not taking enough care of my overall well-being.

It took me years of hard work and persistence to let go of it and I feel that finally, I am who I always wanted to be - open-minded, brave and passionate.

Looking forward to virtually meeting you guys here on indiehackers!

    Kind regards,

Recently (few days ago) I've launched a new project related to WordPress Maintenance, Management & Managed Hosting Services under one roof, called ForgetWP, and I'm here to get some guidance, meet new people and perhaps help others who are on this journey too. https://forgetwp.com

This is Roman, from Madrid (Spain). In the last 6-7 years I tried several times to kick-off different side projects, usually related to finance (but also explored other topics). I never managed to finish most of them, nor monetize any those completed (fully or partially). I think I lack the time to achieve this, and maybe I procrastinate too much in my free time. Or maybe I just need a co-founder to give an extra boost to the code. Who knows! Anyway, would love to hear other stories, specially from those based in Spain who managed to monetize it, just to know how to declare taxes while the bussiness is still "unofficial".

    Hi,
I am Michael from Nuremberg, Germany.
For my living, I am a freelancing Solution Architect with a lot of love for hands-on activites.
So most of the time I try to convince people, architecting tech things AND do them.
That being said, I work on Cloud solutions combined with Machine Learning starting from PoCs to move to real sold products.
I feel the need of having an own business idea because I don't want to trade time for money in the mid to long run.
I am really curious to learn from the community and look for interesting people.
Of course I am looking for inspirational ideas to be tackled.

    Hi there!

My name is Stefan and I'm located in Munich, Germany. I am a developer for more than 15 years now. My technical stack is PHP, MySQL, Laravel, Symfony, VueJS and TailwindCSS.

In my day job, I work as a developer and IT leader. In my spare time, I build side projects from time to time. At that time I built a project called "PingPing.io", a simple monitoring solution to check if your websites are on/offline and your SSL certificates are valid.

I always look for new partnerships, project ideas, and knowledge sharing. I follow indiehackers for a very long time, but never signed up. Now I did!

Hello hackers, I'm Stephane from Cyprus, completing an initial PoC for a privacy-minded hosted bitcoin full node offering. This is aimed at nomads who don't want to carry an additional piece of hardware in their luggage during their travels.

The thought of paying more than 100 $ for a hardware node upfront is what drove me to find an alternative solution that would do the same at a fraction of the cost.

I'll be looking for feedback, advice from fellow indie hackers, and will offer the same wherever my skill set enables me to. Maybe one of you will become customer zero? I dare you!

    Hey Peeps!

5 Years ago I was building a custom car from the ground up, I wanted to control everything from a tablet / phone wireless over Bluetooth. This hacker project become what is RC Pro, this product is our retail control platform for aftermarket trucks, jeeps, and hotrods.

Just one year ago we branched into the OEM market and set out to build the Ultimate Glass Cockpit for Marine, Automotive and Aviation. We are still working hard on that dream. So far we have built Power Modules, RGB Control Modules, and now getting into dedicated screen development using QT Automotive and Android AOSP.

Excited to get on here and see what other IH are doing.

    Hey Folks!

My name is Mark. I'm from London, but I live in Los Angeles. I started coding about a year and a half ago, and I'm loving it! I'm working on a webapp called "On Your Frequency" which is designed for musicians, to connect to eachother (in a new and hopefully interesting way), for the purpose of learning and teaching. It's still in beta, but you can check it out here: https://onyourfrequency.com/ If it works the way I want, I'd like to broaden it from just music, to other fields.

Also I am looking for beta testers - so maybe if you've dabbled in Ableton Live, Logic or ProTools (or other software) and want to get better, or want feedback on your tracks, or you're thinking about starting making music - please get in touch. I'm also looking for instructors, so let me know if you or a someone you know might be interested.

Also I'm presenting "On Your Frequency" at the Indie Hackers "Hack & Tell" on Tuesday, December 10th at CENTRL Office in Downtown LA - https://www.meetup.com/DTLA-Tech-Meetup/events/265749323/

Come and say "hi" if you're around.

    Thanks

Hey Indie Hackers! My name is Ben - I've just today open a public Beta for my product called Mvp DB - a low code solution for building full featured APIs all from without your browser.

Being a full stack developer, I've been really intrigued by the growth in low and no code solutions popping up. I noticed there was a big gap missing in the API space, and Mvp DB is what I've created to fill that gap! More information is available in our docs

Please don't hesitate to reach out and contact - I would love to connect! You can reach me at [email protected]

Personally working on a web app that is a landing page that takes in whatever 'type' of contact info that the user would like to offer (within reason). My main goal is to learn how to code and build some cool websites and applications in the future!

I hope to learn and share experiences here!

Hi everybody, I am Joost from The Netherlands. I'm the founder of WifiMask.com, a small bootstrapped independent VPN company, with a focus on internet privacy and security for Apple devices.

I'm the sole developer and my brother is the design guru. The first steps were taken in 2015 and it took me a while after the necessary ups and downs before I was happy enough with the product to go out in the open with it, but here we are. I started WifiMask because I saw an opportunity to be more transparent and open as a VPN company, a company you can trust and doesn't sell your data, with a strict no logging policy and easy to use, fast and clean apps. WifiMask doesn't have outside investors, our customers come first instead of investors.

If you'd like to support the project and stay safe online I have a one year 25% discount coupon code for you: INDIEHACKERS
You can start with a free trial to try it out, no CC required: wifimask.com/register

I'm Barry and I live in South Africa. I'm trying to port an existing desktop based product into a fully web based product. At the moment what we are doing is just not scaleable and I want to change this.
I've been a wallflower on this site for a couple of weeks and it's awesome. I'm interested in full stack web development, product and SaaS business models.

    Hi everyone!

Bas from The Netherlands here. I am currently working on two projects:

🥃 Drammer whisky app - https://drammer.com This app helps whisky enthusiasts to manage their whisky collection, wish list and reviews. Other features include searching by taste, barcode scanner, data export to CSV/XLS document, 20.000 prices comparison and much more. Our goal is to become the only whisky app a whisky lover needs.

👨‍🏫 Arduino tutorial platform - https://arduino-tutorials.net This website currently has 26 video tutorials about the Arduino micro controller. Each tutorial consists of a video, course material and a part list with links to web-shops. The idea is that you don't need much knowledge to follow the tutorials. When you know how to install software on your computer, you're good to go.

    In my daily life I am a freelance full-stack front-end developer 🤓

    Hey everyone.
I am in charge of marketing in new product for commincation with friends and colleagues - https://callaba.io/
We have released beta-version of Callaba last week and I am looking for any feedbacks.

It is easy-to-use platform for free video calls, with no registration required.
Go to the site, open a chat room, and send another person a link to the room. That’s all - you’re ready to chat. With Callaba you don’t have to go through all the other complicated steps that come with most video calling services like registering your email, confirming that email, choosing a username that’s not already taken, setting up your profile, etc.

Calls are free, and there are no limits in terms of time per call and how many calls you can make, and best of all, they’re secure so you never have to worry about third parties stealing sensitive data.

Our main goal was to make the service accessible and easy to use. As you think did we manage to do that?
And we are still improving and working on new features, so please don’t hesitate to give us any feedback you think might help us take Callaba to the next level!
    Thanks

    Hello IH,

I am Zach from Portland, Maine. I write about the emerging field of psychedelic science, medicine, and biotech. We are on the cusp of regulatory approval of three psychedelic compounds for the treatment of mental health conditions and it is just the tip of the iceberg. The companies, sectors, pharmaceuticals, careers and all-around disruption of mental health are the topics I enjoy learning and writing about.

Hi. I'm Matt Parrilla, out of Burlington, Vermont, USA.

I just quit my job as a robotics engineer to take a crack at starting a SaaS company with a partner. Before working in robotics I was the lead developer of a web analytics reporting application with 15,000 customers.

Friday is my last day at work. I'm psyched to sit down with a cup of coffee and my laptop and see what I can do!

I'm active on twitter at @mattparrilla.

    My personal website is https://matthewparrilla.com

I look forward to being a part of the indie hackers community. I already love the podcasts!

Hi! We're Roi, Chen and Yoav.

We're building an API to let developers easily integrate web search functionality into their apps. Think Google without ads, searching a subset of the web of your choosing, embedded in your app.

One of our best APIs so far is the News API. It's really easy to get started with it - give it a shot here and let us know what you think!

Hey, I'm Henri, currently building BugJail (https://bugjail.com), which is a new kind of debugger, available now for Java and coming later for JavaScript. Devtools is a famously tough market, but I've been building software for 25 years and just want to help other developers to do their jobs better and waste less of their lives on insane late night bug hunts.
