I've been lurking for a while, and I don't really know how involved Courtland is anymore, but I mainly joined because I had been following him for a while. Going from MIT CS graduate to this kind of socialite fielding interviews and talking on a stage? That's pretty impressive.

In any case, I had been watching these forums for a little while and I see that most people are self-promoters, marketers, or scammers. I wish I could experience the sincerity of people struggling to make it, but when you attach a company and its value to an identity, I guess it's a little difficult to find sincerity. Instead, you get the types of listicles or well-crafted pieces you see in the "Popular" section of the forum today.

Also, once you hit some critical mass of users, perhaps at the point that Stripe would consider acqui-hiring you, posters see the forum as an opportunity to be the tool salesmen in a gold rush.

I hope I'm wrong and that I get to see people going through and figuring out this so-called "Founder Depression" or sidestepping it altogether. Maybe the Dropbox "I'm Barely Qualified" attitude would pop out every once in a while. I'll stick around to see.

I'm new here and I have so many business ideas and I struggle with getting support and direction. I see many if my ideas come into fruition by someone else. I have already seen a very similar idea with crowd funding.. There are a few ideas that I have that I feel can be profitable but I keep running into road blocks. And technology changes so fast. I have some technical knowledge but it is hard to grasp coding and developing. I'm looking to network to get my ideas off the ground.
