Channing here from Indie Hackers. Welcome! 👋
Here's how to get the most out your time here.
Indie Hackers is for connecting with like-minded people who want to build profitable online businesses.
To get the most out of the community, try helping to make it a better place. You can do that by starting and participating in interesting discussions.
If you start by giving, the community is designed to reward you in return.
Head over to the home page and click the "New Post" button.
If there's something on your mind that you think will get people talking, simply type it out. The shorter the better. It helps if you ask a clear question in the title, or if you express your opinion.
Alternatively, if you read something elsewhere on the internet, you can start a discussion around that, too. Try submitting it as a link post. Indie hackers love discovering interesting new articles.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you need help submitting your first link post or starting your first discussion, let me know in the comments below.
Otherwise, I'm excited to see you the forum! Feel free to introduce yourself to everyone below. 🤗
Hi there, im new to this community, hope to gain valuable insights and have a positive impact to the community :)
Hi Indie Hackers community! Came here to share my goals. I'm just trying to get 10 people to really love what we're doing for this month!
Hi Indie Hackers Community!
I've been a passive member for some time now. As a non-technical founder, this world has always been one that's fascinated me, but has also been equally intimidating.
As a two-year solo founder, I've been the one who has sacrificed a lot for my business. I put myself into debt as a student to finance the MVP. During the pandemic, I picked up door dashing as the only way to pay for my fees while working on Distaff(my company) and job searching full-time. And now just recently, I left my job at Citibank to work full-time on an app with less than 200 users, an unfinished MVP, and an acceptance into a well-recognized accelerator program, because I believe in both this company and its vision.
I'm far from the end, but I want to focus on a few goals I have before 2022.
If you've made it this far reading my soliloquy, thank you. I look forward to becoming a bigger part of this community!
Hey! Over the past few years, I have been fascinated by the idea of working for myself. What started off as a desire to build the "next unicorn" has been put in perspective by the pandemic and now I just want to be self sufficient.
I admire what Daniel Vassallo has been doing by building in public and recently saw this thought from him which I found noteworthy - https://twitter.com/dvassallo/status/1433035309147586565
Never set goals without cost constraints:
I want to start a business… without spending more than $10K
I want to make $100K… without working more than 2hrs/day
I want to get promoted… without sacrificing my family
.. and so on.
Else you become a slave of your goals.
So here I am, with a small goal in mind. I want to make 100$ this year building or selling something outside of my "work". It's a small goal by itself but it feels so distant at the moment.
I know I am good with tech and have built solutions from scratch for the companies I have worked for. I have experience with Rails/Go/Kotlin/React and have worked in domains including SaaS /B2B e-commerce/ A/B Testing . I do not know what it is that I should be building for so I am all ears for ideas or problems that you would want solved.
I look forward to knowing folks who have built businesses for themselves and folks like me who are trying to find their own path ahead!
Hi friends!
I used to work in finance but I transitioned to become a full-stack web developer two years ago! While I know that I can code/build, I've always been afraid to create a possibly profitable solo project. Hoping to get over that hurdle by validating some ideas here and just getting started!
Excited to join the community! :)

Hi Channing. I'm brand new to the website after listening to the podcast some and hearing it referenced a lot. I was happy when I found someone with an invite code. :)
I am hoping to pre-launch a product I've been dog-fooding for awhile. But I don't want to be one of those people who just show up and spam the forums with their own junk. Is there a good place to do that? Or what's the right way to go about it?
Thanks!
