To get the most out of the community, try helping to make it a better place. You can do that by starting and participating in interesting discussions.
If you start by giving, the community is designed to reward you in return.
How to start discussions
Head over to the home page and click the "New Post" button.
If there's something on your mind that you think will get people talking, simply type it out. The shorter the better. It helps if you ask a clear question in the title, or if you express your opinion.
Alternatively, if you read something elsewhere on the internet, you can start a discussion around that, too. Try submitting it as a link post. Indie hackers love discovering interesting new articles.

Hey everyone, I'm excited to finally join the community after lurking for a few years. I've tried to make various side projects but each one fizzled out. This time around, I'm going to take part in the community, make realistic plans, and publish my first game. I've had this goal since 2013 and I'm determined to make it a reality now!
Hey IndieHackers, so glad to finally join the platform and all of you! My world has revolved around building and launching mobile apps for the last decade so hit me up if you need someone to bounce ideas off. As for me, I've just started a new and very different dating app for the post-lockdown world and will be sharing my journey here and hopefully leaning on you good folks for advice too. Fingers crossed :)
