About myself
Jack of all trades. Left the corporate tech world 2 years ago to focus on my own side projects while traveling. After a first failure, building an investment marketplace for sustainable projects (SolarTrade - https://solartrade.io/), I've recently co-launched a D2C furniture brand (Tropicc - https://tropicc.co/) in the UAE. I do everything from product design, coding, legal,l to finance. We have just hit $7K in revenue after 1 month of launch! 🙌

long time lurker, first time poster. Very big fan of the community and hope I can help by sharing some of the battle scars from the businesses I've started. Hopefully you can learn from all the mistakes I've made along the way so you can make new mistakes.

My background is CX and product development and I'm now working in insurtech running a few companies including Agile Underwriting and Insured by Us. I've run a few other businesses and exited a few. I'm always looking to build the next thing... and gravitate to "boring businesses" like Roadside Assistance and Insurance.

I've been running remote-first businesses for a decade (way before it was trendy) and most of them were 4 day work weeks as well.

Lurker no more! I'm Rishi - a 39 year old product guy in Chicago with two kids, a wife, and a dog. Some hobbies of mine are chess, Killer Queen (an awesome 5-5 arcade game), and basketball.

I'm working on a side project with an engineering friend of mine, Sam. We're building a tool called Marvy -- a way to get video feedback from users of your SaaS web app.

I'm fascinated with the process of talking to customers to improve products and I've lived this in my PM career. Really excited to improve this process with my side project.

Struggling to monetize consistently whilst doing everything myself. Guess I should be happy it at least monetizes but with an ever shortening runway. I'm Sujith - an engineer by training who also likes to dabble in design. My background is in product & machine learning and I spent my past life as an engineer at Airbnb, Google, and Microsoft Research. Currently I work on my startup Vega Labs (vegalabs.xyz) focused on launching our investing app Roi (getroi.app).

My goal is to get Roi in the hands of every retail investor in the US and make it easy for anyone to make better investing decisions. Since it's consumer facing I'd love to learn from others in the community how to do things like build pre-launch hype, get paying users, etc.

Aside from work I spend my time in New York playing basketball, snowboarding, & skateboarding with friends. I also am working on building my Twitter (@aka_suje) and starting a podcast for fellow founders (zerotosome.xyz). Looking forward to the community!

Hey everyone!

I'm Dino - an ex-social media addict that is trying to help people form healthier relationships with their devices. Currently I am a senior studying data science at UC Berkeley, and I just finished teaching the first iteration of a course that I have been working on for over a year to 17 Berkeley students. The course, titled Becoming Tech Intentional, aims to give students a framework for rebuilding their relationship with their devices from the ground up.

With graduation right around the corner, I am trying to build a series of income streams around the course and the messages it preaches. I'm working on putting up a personal website with a series of articles explaining the core concepts of the course, reaching out to high schools in the Bay Area about teaching the course to incoming college students over the summer, and learning all I can about note-taking and time management tools and strategies in an effort to start doing 1-1 consulting with college students.

I recognize that I have SO much to learn about entrepreneurship and I am so excited to be a part of a community that can help me scale this business. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you and gleaning insight wherever I can!

I am joining indie hackers to engage more deeply with my new entrepreneurial lifestyle. The project I am working on is called Self Innovation that includes online community for healing, leadership tools, and a Notion Operating System. Right now I am not focused on profit but have the goal of hitting 1000 engaged members by the end of 2022.

Indie Hackers seems like such a wealth of knowledge because it is up to date and relevant. Whenever I come on the forum I am impressed by how useful and actionable the knowledge is, especially compared to everywhere else online. I seem to learn 10x more here about entrepreneurship than my university classes xD.

My Goal for Indie-hackers is to become a helpful builder-in public. I love this community approach to entrepreneurship hope to provide humanistic insights to others. I know I will learn so much and am excited to make meaningful connections!
