I had a 530 with Transunion, 420 with Experian and a 460 Equifax. I also had repossession, charge offs 6 negative items and closed credit card accounts. I was trying to get a new house for my family and a new car but I had a bad credit and needed help ASAP. My colleague who previously was in my situation gave me the contact of this credit repair company who helped him fixed his. I quickly emailed and texted them through ([email protected]) To cut the long story short Michael calce came through for me in just 72hours, he cleared all my credit card debts and mortgage, he also raised my score to 815 on all Bureaus. For the last 10 years I've been working as a developer for other companies, and lately I've decided that it was time to make web apps, based on ideas that solve my problems, and then share them with the world in the hope that they also solve others problems.

Right now I built 2 apps :

• https://whereareyou.today : because I'm a digital nomad myself and people never know where I am ;)
• https://cozylist.co : an app to make an interactive guidebook for you home, because I use HomeExchange a lot when I'm away, and I needed a way to streamline the communication with my guests.

My goal would be at some point to make a living out of these apps or with other ideas I have, but marketing / selling my apps is definitely not where I shine.

I hope to benefit from fellow indie hackers' experience, to get some useful insights / advices and get on the right track on this subject.

In return I hope I'll be able to help others with the knowledge and the experience I got along the way.

Hello everyone, I'm a college drop out (few weeks ago, financial reasons) and I have 6 months to turn my life around.

I have been coding for 3+ years, and I have been freelancing for 1 year (making small projects like scrapers, bots, etc. or fixing existing codebases or even making upgrades to existing codebases, for $5-$50😆), but the because of the nature of those works, I am not able to put even a single one on my portfolio.

Lurking around IH, I seem to find myself wanting to build and grow my own product, but my current circumstances won't allow it.

Here's my plan: get a stable source of income.

To achieve this I plan to get a job, but coming from a third world country, with no degree and with nothing on my portfolio, and almost nothing on my github, I realized I will be having a hard time applying for jobs.

So first order of business is to make projects for my portfolio, that will showcase my:

1. programming skills (language knowledge, programming principles, etc.)
2. my problem solving skills (analytical solutions, DSAs, etc.)
3. software engineering skills (code quality, design patterns, tests, CI/CD, tooling, etc.).
4. communication skills though documentations and github collaborations through issues and pull requests.

Since I have quite a lot at my disadvantage, I realized I cannot just build "any" app.
I should build applications (full-stack applications) with some level of technical complexity that should vividly display my capabilities as a self-taught developer. And if I could offer it as a SaaS, then I may no longer need to find a job, but the only problem is, I barely have any money to buy some domain for it. Anyhow, I'll find a way to work that out.

The applications I have to build should stand-out to the point that recruiters will be messaging me for interview once they see it 😅.

Thanks for the warm welcome😁! A lifetime ago, I went to school for computer micro-operations, that was after respiratory therapy (I was working in the field & had received an academic scholarship). Still don't know what I want to be when I grow up (??), but I surely don't want to stagnate.
I can't say that I'll be on this everyday, as I'm in the middle of several projects. I took 10 days off (off being relative) to do a remodeling job at my house. Taking time off, to me means, just not putting in more than 25-30 hrs.
I have a visiting assignment with a surgical patient for wound care (that's 2x a day, everyday & followup w/ surgeon tomorrow. ). I'm tiling my entryway, wallpapering hall. Painting living room, bathroom & ceilings. I'd like to get back to building my greenhouse, and am cooking/cleaning for another elderly gentleman (again, this is a daily obligation that I committed to).
I read VORACIOUSLY, don't participate in ANY social media ('say it, forget it; write it, regret it'). I have tv on about 20 hrs a day, but rarely watch.
That's my 50 cent tour of my life.
