      Thank you, much appreciated.

Love the 2 cold email articles. I'd like to hear a little more detail about warming up emails, like how long to do it, how many emails to send before you consider it "warmed" up, etc...

      Thanks :)

You can gradually increase the number of outgoing emails and reduce the delay between them.

In the beginning, I advise setting a delay of at least 200 seconds between two cold emails going out on a newly warmed-up domain. Keep like this for a couple of weeks and send out under 100 cold emails per day.

After a couple of weeks you could reduce the delay to around 100 seconds, and you could then increase the send limit to 120 emails a day. Keep like this for 3 weeks.

Again after 2 weeks you could set the send delay to 67 seconds. And increase your email limit to 140-150. I do not recommend increasing beyond this if you want to create a sustainable engine.

This is how you ensure deliverability!

    Awesome! Welcome to newslettering!

I started Philoinvestor a year ago and I am at 1700 subs right now.

For all of you content creators out there, have faith and trust the process. Believe that content compounds over time!

Well done. You are on a great track.
And yes - content compounds over time!!

Can you tell us how did you got the first 100 subscribers ?

    1. 1

My first 100 came from -
      Indiehacker and LinkedIn

I promote every post here on Indiehacker.
And on LinkedIn I do posts on my feed.

How did you market your newsletter? Your content is good, but what made people find you out of all the other newsletters?

    1. 1

Everything I have published I have promoted by posting on:

      1. Indiehackers - I have gotten 68 subs
      2. Hackernews
      3. Twitter - 3 Subs
      4. Linkedin (and Direct traffic - 80 subs)

Hackernews has gotten me 82 views and no subscribers, so I have ditched posting after the 10th post. I have published 12 editions.

This is great. But did you achieve this?

To be honest, a month ago I was slightly depressed with just 23 subscribers. But today things are way different. I have also started to get daily new subscribers. The compounding effect of content, like they say....

    1. 2

Being a newbie here, Can you explain "compounding effect of content"

      1. 1

It simply means the more you put out useful content, overtime you have an advantage because of the quantity of content as it attracts more eyeballs. For e.g. when I only had 1 post on my substack that's the only post there. But now I have 12 posts there, everyday I wake up and see Organic traffic to multiple posts. So really more content gets more eyeballs.

How often do you check your subscriber count? It can't be great for your mental health to be constantly on top of it. :)

      1. 1

For me personally opposite of that, I am obsessed :)

I dig data every single day and see patterns to make iterations. I have already evolved my newsletter format 3 times (written 12 total posts). This has also given me ideas on what type of content can be monetized, and what can remain free. Eventually, it's the road to monetization.
