We don't post often (at all), but invest a lot into whatever posts we write. It's incredible to see it pay off like this again. Last time we were a top HN story we had a year's worth of signups in a week. This is about to repeat itself! :)
Lesson learned: How-to content that somehow relates back to your product without being too biased can really do wonders on HN because it stimulates discussion/sharing of opinions. Be warned, HN comes with lots of snarky comments.
