A teammate mentioned how fast one AI coding tool has been iterating lately. The reason? Pure AI agents, coding 24/7. No humans in the loop for the routine stuff.
Our CEO said something that hit hard:
"We used to say: what takes us a week, takes others a week too. Now what takes us a week, AI can do in a day. That's the new gap — not between developers, but between companies."
And honestly? We're not immune to that gap ourselves.
Here's where we're at right now:
We're in active development — integrating AI agents directly into our cloud phone platform. The idea is not to just add AI as a feature, but to let AI actually operate the product, expand use cases, and serve more customers than a human team ever could alone.
But I'll be real — it's messy. The direction shifts. Some weeks we're deep into one integration, the next week priorities change. As the ops person, I often find myself not fully understanding what the devs are building or why — and trying to communicate that story externally anyway.

On the "what actually worked" question for integrating AI agents: the biggest unlock was treating each agent's instructions as a structured document, not a chat prompt. When priorities shift weekly, prose instructions shift with them and you lose track of what the agent is supposed to be doing.
Typed blocks for each agent (role, objective, constraints, output format) give you something that survives the chaos. When output quality drops, you can point to exactly which block changed. That also helps with your ops communication problem: if each agent's purpose is written as explicit blocks, you can describe it externally without waiting for the devs to explain it.
