Were you in a situation like Hey? We were.

There might be some of you who either don't know about the debacle or that you don't understand what the situation is, just do a quick google search and you will see all the thread.

So, 2 months back, Prep was doing somewhat this kind of payment modal:
Treat every new user as trial users, once the threshold is reached, ask them to subscribe, or push back to Free(Ads) based plan.

However, Apple didn't like that we were not using their trial system, but mind you, we were and are still using IAP. And they just rejected a new version saying you don't offer a trial period as we want, however, we didn't want our users to feel they have to subscribe to the product to try, in other words, be scared and leave the platform.

We even went with Non-Consumable IAP item at Price Tier 0 thing, nope still rejected. The situation was that we reached way higher on build version on Android and we just could not afford to comply.

PS. We appealed, had a talk with the Apple Support, and the straight-up answer was that it won't be accepted.

In the end, we just dropped everything related to Trial, and the new user came straight as Free(Ads) Plan and they could subscribe whenever they wanted, or if they wanted.

So, what DHH and team are offering is the Trial Period cause it's a new product, a new proposition, and if they just cannot even give it to the users now, it's a mindboggling number of users they will lose.

Not sure what will come out of this, Let's see

There is a thread there here for the technical aspects . If it does not open, try with Web Archive
