Taking on board the success of ManyPixels and FairPixels, we've just shipped https://astronamy.carrd.co.
Long story short we create unlimited monthly content from $249 for Side Projects, Freelancers + Agencies. We also create brand/product names for a fair price that the client decides :)
What do you think could be tweaked with the business model? Does anyone have any advice?
Unlike design, I think it's really hard to offer an unlimted content service. We have tried it, but it wasn't scalable for us. Now we offer quantity-based content marketing plans (https://fullservice.co/service/content-marketing/) which works a lot better. It's scalable and it allows us to keep the quality as high as possible.
Hi Jeroen, Thanks for that. I like the business model :) With us we push to keep quality at an optimum with what we have in place.
I would possibly use thsi service however your shoudl provide some examples of brand names your created... Could you give me some that u did for another company now?
Hi Entrepreneur,
Certainly we can send some examples. If you send your email address to astronamy@mail.com we'll send over our latest work. NB we've also dropped our pricing to $29 as an introductory offer.
Once again many thanks for the advice within IH community. Taking all suggestions onboard we've got rid of the brand naming service and going all out with unlimited content plans
And we've rebranded as Flux Content and can be found here... https://fluxcontent.stream/
As many have noted below the brand naming and content are confusing being together. Do one or the other. Doing both maybe a stretch.
Also how do you plan to scale this. I have Heard this idea done in multiple areas but usually scaling and making it successful in the long run has always been a problem.
So to take a content example. I’d say you take 3 days to do a 700 word blog for my startup or agency can I literally have you provide me 30 blogs in a month in the Pro package. Am I missing something here?
Hi Manish,
We're splitting up the brand naming and the content as we speak (type).
RE: scaling I hear what you're saying. As mentioned we're taking the lead from those that have scaled just right like Kapaa99.
In terms of the content example if as we focus on the quality and thus focus on one article at a time with any given client - 3 days for the 700 word blog post would get you around at least 10 blog posts a month. And thats not including any other content you need done which we'd also be working on in that times. So theres much value to be had.
Unlike design work, I can think up at least 10 blog topics a month for somebody like you to write. Basically any company that cares about his SEO will/should be able to come up with an amount of content requests that size.
How are you planning to keep up the quality (and revenue) of the content at such high volumes? Will there be limits set to the lower or upper amount of characters per article? A set amount of revisions? Etc.
Hi Theo,
We keep up the quality by ensuring our staff remain top quality producers, with all content project managed by myself. RE: revenue most clients don't want a new piece created every day so we find a good balance with supply and demand. They can have a new piece every day if they want though. Either way its much cheaper than paying piece by piece.
Theres no characters limits, and all work comes with unlimited revisions - but we're more than confident that we can nail most content pieces in no more than 2 revisions. But if the client wants more, then the client gets more :)
First of all, I would never pay 249$ to a person who doesn't even want to use a small amount of money to buy a domain.
Another thing is I find it a bit confusing, are you selling brand names or unlimited content? I would choose between these two and give that my full attention.
Besides these things, I would work a bit more on the title. It's hitting a pain point with the "naming generation sucks", but I don't really like the "we don't". I would rather highlight the fact you will be the right person to generate a name for the visiter.
Duly noted Frederik. It was just a case of launching fast hence using Carrd.co to get a feel for demand.
We sell both but as outlined in the reply to Mangesh Somvanshi below we we're trying out the brand naming as a first step to lead to unlimited content.
And noted about the headline. We'll look into it :)
Many thanks.
Do yourself a favour and separate one from another. Now it looks like a one-stop shop, which suggests lower quality than when going with dedicated service.
Got you. The brand naming will be removed :)
Hi David,
Thankyou! Yes we've got much experience in brand naming and content. I've been doing it for close to 10 years and worked with a fair few notable companies, entrepreneurs and side project people. I've also produced visual branding like graphic design but wanted to stay away from that as ManyPixels.co and Kapa99 seem to have that covered.
We have currently myself and 4 other staff but always looking quality content producers.
What niche are you thinking about going into?
whats FairPixels?
We liked the intro offer that https://fairpixels.co/ do.
A client gets them to create a logo for a fair price. Basically pay what you want pricing thats at a set minimum. From there clients usually take up their pro plan for graphics.
We've done the same with brand naming for a fair price that can lead to unlimited content plans if a client wants. Or they cna jump straight to the unlimited content.
May do away with the brand naming depending on how successful it is :)
Congrats! Two questions:
Asking because I'm considering using the same model for a different niche and I'm wondering what one would need to get started.

Hi Hack3r,
Not at the moment. But we're looking to branch into the tech writing sphere pretty soon :)
Hey @hack3r
You may have prior posts of mine about Second Look, my startup focused on everything content related.
We have a forum where you can post requests for content!
I'm sure we can find someone who has the skills to deliver high quality content at the right price for you.
(Btw, @Okcomputer, if it is poor form to post a solicitation comment on someone else's thread, I apologize. I'll delete this comment and message @hack3r privately if you prefer. I took the liberty of responding when I didn't see you publicly reply to this comment.)
Hi Sai,
No biggie. Neat company.
