What type of code is being sold?
I'm looking for additional ways to sell code online, to use in conjunction with codecanyon.

Every type of code can be sold. HTML templates, WordPress themes, Web apps, mobile apps, libraries, framework... and with any kind of languages.

I'm not sure why this would be any different from codecanyon, chupamobile, sellmyapp, etc.
You get the complete source and diff licensing terms from any of these services. The fact that gitmarket just allows you to clone the repo into whatever git hosting svc you're using, doesn't seem to matter to me.
Any competent beginner programmer should be able to import any code into a private repo...

Git matter... it make updating code more easy, so it make sense to host code on Git and not in zip files.
Any competent programmer already use Git all the time with open source code on GitHub, so why premium(paying) code should not be on the same technology?
+1 for updating more easily using git! :-)
Will GitMarket be a good place to sell whole web apps, in contrast with Codecanyon/chupamobile/sellmyapp that seem to focus on mobile apps or web plugins only?
E.g. I made a web exam app for programming students that can automatically evaluate their copy (including coding exercises) and grade. Could that be a successful product on GitMarket?
