Soft launch week used to mean I sprayed the same one-liner across every board I could find. Then I stared at analytics hoping something stuck. After running Aura++ as a daily board and watching a lot of products come through, the pattern that keeps showing up is boring and kind of annoying: the week after a soft launch, traffic moves when you fix the pitch and stay in the comments, not when you open five more submit tabs.
On Aura++ launches go live around 8:00am UTC. Free exists. Premium is the SEO path (dofollow from a domain people cite near DR 70, lasting page, launch kit stuff). On the BLP Index Aura++ is 62. Product Hunt is 73 for raw reach, Uneed is 70 with a persistent listing, Peerlist Launchpad is 66 as a weekly professional room. None of that matters if your first five comments are people asking what the product even does.
What I tell founders in practice now: treat the soft week like copy QA. Ship on one daily surface so you have a crawlable launch URL. Reply fast. Rewrite the one-liner when people misread it. Only then book a louder day. The four-week sequence I wrote up for BLP is roughly BetaList and directories early, a warm-up board mid, PH when the pitch survives confusion, Show HN or LinkedIn on a separate day. Same stack idea applies if PH is not even on the menu yet.
Directory SEO (AlternativeTo, TAAFT, SaaSHub) is a different job. Those listings help weeks later when someone searches alternatives. They do not rescue a confused soft launch morning. If you want a calm daily room to stress-test the page before you go loud, [Aura++](https://auraplusplus.com) is the daily Hunt board I run for that. Pair with one weekly niche later. You rarely need every Hunt surface the same week.
What moved the needle for you after a soft week. More boards, or fixing the sentence at the top of the page?
