At the beginning of every new business/service/solution the question is always: do customers actually want this? (and, somewhat related, what are the customer acquisition costs?)
So I am wondering: what are examples of experiments that can be executed with less than 4h of effort?
Write to (small) business owners: "is there a tools or service that you are paying for where you would be interested in a better alternative? We are entrepreneurs searching on what to work on next. If you reply with tools we will analyze the market and let you know what we find. If we find nothing substantially better, we might compete with the incumbents. We only write this message to businesses that we would love to serve ourselves and will tackle research on a first come first serve basis."
In the US forkable is popular with companies but in Germany none of my previous companies/organizations used it. Maybe it exists, maybe it does not. I did not check yet but it would be easy to mail the offices of local businesses asking them if they want the same benefits that forkable provides e.g. food batch-delivered to office at discount and even optionally payable via company's pre-tax money as employee goodie. Might also be a solution not only for companies but groups of people that eat in the same building e.g. an alternative to a university mensa. So, there are even more potential clients for this than just companies.
Within the first 4h, one could build a landing page for the specific city and say that operations are starting soon and that customers would be enrolled on a first come first served basis. Then, research companies and talk to them.
