I know the group is only 18 ppl at the time of posting this, and that we're all still trying to figure out what "web3" and crypto and all that is all about.
But if you've been in the space / have been observing the space and have come across interesting usecases, I think we'd love to hear about it and discuss!
I'll start us off: DeFi is really cool. It's the modern day equivalent of being able to experiment with new financial paradigms from traditional finance in this new world.
Looking forward to hearing your responses!
Yes, DeFi is really cool.
But, oh lord, there are so many use cases.
My favorite one - is the music industry (probably because I am also a music producer)
I've written a 5-minute report about how 'Fractional Ownership' affects the artists and how it can save the indie music industry.

I think that NFTs are really here for the long shot.
Love it, thanks for sharing.
Seems like the whole idea of ownership is a key feature of this. Owning a piece of a protocol (or any asset in productive crypto assets) is like owning a piece of the infra.
Really still wrapping my head around it all and learning the space. A pretty generic use case but I'm drawn to the high yield savings account offered in the DeFi space.
There seems to be the decentralised approach and the more centralised approach (blockfi etc) so there is really something for everyone.
Lots more to learn!
Ah yes! The high yield savings account. Have you ever dipped your toes in yield farming?
Yup, plenty to learn out there. It really is a rabbit hole.
Not yet! But have done some research on how it all operates. It still seems a bit fiddly to set up?
Have you played around with it?
Yup! Described it well - fiddly!
If someone fixes the UX for this and the simplicity of onboarding, i feel like it could get interesting then
I'm building Web 3 Surveys named BlockSurvey using Stacks blockchain. Stacks is a programmable layer on Bitcoin. Have been using them for two years and seeing growth and adoption among consumers for my product. Would appreciate it if you could give it a look. Any centralized consumer app can be made decentralized today. I see it would take place.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Masternodes are interesting and quite different from making money with staking/yield farming etc. There are a few minimum investments depending on the coin. Curious if someone else experimented with master nodes.
Nice, are masternodes sort of like "investing" in the infra of a token? Where it validates transactions and such?

Fair! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I've come across a few chains that do / claim to have real world use cases, such as in supply chain.
What real world use cases have you seen that could work? Maybe aside from just payments?
