Hi all,
I'm tasked with building traction and engagement on Truealpha's Twitter profile - https://twitter.com/truealphaio.
We've only started a couple of weeks back and are at the beta stage. Needed your input on a few tried and tested methods to build organic traffic via Twitter.
We've noticed that threads work well, but hitting that balance between not preaching and still educating is a little tricky when we barely have any followers at the minute.
How should we approach it, do any of you have any resources for the same?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
It definitely takes a while!
Dipping my toes back into twitter after years off. The best advice I've got so far is:
Productise yourself. I.e personalise your twitter profile as much as possible. Even if there's multiple people in your startup, get profile person of the person who does your social
Reply to lots of people who are connected to your audience. Engage LOTS. Like 100 messages a day to see what sticks.
That's two off the top of my head.
Thanks @AdamModulate. Will keep this in mind!
I used to write threads into the void, but few tweaks changed my game. Threads work when there’s an audience, at least of 100 (300) people.
Quality threads come from quality tweets. Quality tweets come from quality comments.
Here’s the approach that helped me most:
Pick 10 topics you want to speak about. Tweet them until you hit 10k followers and then cut to 3 topics that work best.
If you do 1-3, you’ll grow fastest.
P.s. Notifications on big accounts help to tweet first; always tweet quality comments, “good idea!” won’t get you visits; show up every day; hashtags are for losers.
Now the fun part - I believe you shouldn't rely on organic Twitter growth to attract your first 20 customers. This will be super slow and take 5+ months. It's much faster to get traction by going after your first 50 customers in 1-1 chats. Can help you with those, just DM me on Twitter.
Thanks for this Denis! Appreciate you taking the time to give feedback!
With respect to point 2 - What kind of DMs are you referring to? Anything specific to our own product? Or just to begin conversations and build rapport?
