What are the best cost effective or cheap ad networks for makers or early stage SaaS companies?
Hi everyone :)
I wanted to ask the community about ad channels/networks they've had experience with and have had good success with decent costs in CPC's/CPL's outside of the traditional networks like Google and Facebook.
I know of Capterra and GetApp (keen to hear if anyone has had good experiences with these channels) but any other channels they know of or can share would be awesome to know :)

Recently I read in a book that Bing is also worth advertising on because it's cheap and apparently there real people using it😂 And perhaps also other search engines.

Will consider looking into Bing as good CPC's for sure! Just volume :)
I wouldn't say Capterra's cheap in terms of CPCs ;) The intent is usually high though, so the CR compensates the CPC.
You may want to check out this list of over 200 paid channels - there's lots of niche channels most people don't know of.

Wherever there's attention around what you're doing. I haven't seen many "new" ones lately, usually just stuff like Instagram, Facebook, etc.
Curious, what sort of traffic are you looking for? Just awareness or trying to convert people?
Yeah that's the tricky part of finding new ones! That's what I'm trying to find out :)
Awareness/top of funnel mainly and then strong remarketing funnel through email lead captures + FB/IG which ultimately leads to conversions :)

My main product is Cenario.co - some good luck through FB ads but again some not so great quality leads so looking to explore other avenues :)

Yep email is a no brainer but more thinking around acquisition and cold audiences :)
You can use email for that too. Tools like hunter.io are a cheap way of identifying people and contacting them directly. I recently posted on reddit on this topic. Obviously there are other platforms but they have gotten very expensive.

Have you looked into affiliate marketing?
As a SaaS (full transparency, it's an affiliate tracking software) this brings in about 30% of our leads. AdWords/Capterra was too expensive for us when we first started out, and it was hard to compete against the big budgets.
But with our affiliate marketing program, we only pay commissions when a referral becomes a paying subscriber. A majority of these conversions come from bloggers who run "Best of" or "Tools You Need" type blogs, and it's worked. They've brought a steady amount of leads/conversions each month for us for the past 5 years.
