Hi Indiehackers,
I've been building a blog for RecordJoy (https://www.recordjoy.com/blog) but was wondering what were the best places and strategies to advertise my blog posts. My goal is to have the blogs rank for keywords relevant to my product (share screen recordings online, etc.).
I've also noticed that every time I publish a blog post, Google Search Engine says they get a few impressions but I don't see them anywhere on Google when I search for their title.
I've also tried posting on reddit threads but I quickly get my posts removed for lack of karma.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Hey there,
I took a look at your blog.
Some general things:
Your strategy must be SEO:
Since your posts are so narrow (topic-wise), your best bet will be SEO. But you need to learn some stuff about SEO.
About Google search console:
Google often tests new content to see if the search results receive traffic. If you get impressions but no clicks, you need to check your meta description. Check out the top listings for your keyword and create a similar meta title and description for your content.
Tip:
Take "RecordJoy Blog" out of your title and description. It is not relevant for somebody who is searching your keyword.
Hope this helps...
Maybe check out some SEO 101 guide... maybe from moz.com or another SEO authority.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. It is clear that I have two issues I need to solve. The first being a low click through rate due to a bad meta description, and the second being low quality content compared to my competitors.
