What are the best ways to market my API?

I just looked into the SEO side of PDF conversion. There are some huge hitters in the industry (e.g. Adobe) offering this for free. Someone Googling won't be able to tell the difference between your API and the Adobe point and click offer.

My gut says you are going to make the best progress if you can have B2B sales using a salesperson and sales engineer. I would then pick a vertical and sell only to that vertical until you have saturated the industry. Companies dealing in contracts could have a use for this for example Real Estate Titles.
