What are the different ways to launch?

The indie hacker crowd definitely like to launch on Product Hunt, but what seems to happen is that they stop there, or they get stuck with what they need to do next.

Previously I've mentioned the 19 Channels of Traction and whether you'd market differently if you never launched. @alexhillman also has thoughts on how often you should launch.

I watched this How to launch (again and again) video from startup school which reminded me of the topic. The video doesn't really go into much depth, but it may help as a reminder of the options you do have.

I'd love to hear of other articles or resources that go into this topic. Please share below!

I'd go even further and say: you probably shouldn't launch on Product Hunt in the first place (unless you're 100% sure that your specific customers are there in large numbers).

Here's why, and my suggestion for an alt approach.

Just noticed you're in Philly too! 🙌

Yup, I was at the Super Meetup yesterday at Cherry Street Pier. Did you attend?

Nice! Looked like a great time. I was teaching a live workshop so I couldn't make it but I've been in the past (and love the pier!)

I find it's best to launch on Product Hunt when you have a solid base already built up. Doing all those other launches first, helps to build a presence and validate the business before you try and throw fuel on the fire with Product Hunt.

Launching on Product Hunt isn't about getting users from Product Hunt, but using the added visibility to get access to a wider audience.
