What are the first 5 things you MUST do after you launch your ecommerce store?

I am trying to build a consumer product myself. I would definitely recommend against getting a paid ads person as you have not figured out a marketing channel that works for you

For starters, you should try the following, I've tried some of these myself and I am in an early stage in building my consumer product:

• Social media (IG/ Twitter/ FB), start posting actively especially IG - their algorithm favours people who post regularly
• Start building your email list - the strongest acquisition tool is still email and this is how you build repeat customers. Start simple with building a list of people close to you and build a base of early customers that will be the people championing your product
• Get a list of publications/ newsletters that will write about you or feature your product, build this list up and contact them to write about you - this will also build your backlinks
• You could test with paid ads but I recommend against this until you figure out where your users are and the types of ads that will work. A great test is posting different types of content on different social media outlets and see what gets the most engagement
• Find other businesses in the same stage as you and try to use their userbase. Partnerships are very important - ie. finding another IG account in an adjacent field with a similar following base and reach out to them to do a cross-promotion
• (bonus) start figuring out a content strategy - is there anything you can write about on your topic that will bring people organically? Content is always a longshot and you may not see many results in the long term
