What are the key stats you look at every day?

What is your project? And what are the key metrics or stats that you look at every day?

My project is www.fintechbattles.com (basically a blog), I check:

  • MailChimp subscribers
  • Twitter followers / mentions / retweets
  • Google Analytics - unique visitors, live visits
  • LinkedIn likes / reposts
  • Best performing articles

First of all, I'm checking if I'm still alive ahah
Then, I check my daily visitors on Analytics! Trying to find out the origin of visitors

"First of all, I'm checking if I'm still alive ahah" <--- I agree

How do you measure alive? ;)

Varies by project but my main points of interest include:

    • Google Search Console (specifically any errors that are being reported as well as search position and such)
    • Hotjar (Active Heatmaps primarily
    • Google Optimize (Any active tests I have running)
    • Usage metrics for any services / cloud providers (specifically looking for any variances that could spike any billing or anything that could be out of sorts to indicate the account was compromised or what not)
    • Dashboard for the project itself (mostly usage based metrics)

I tend to focus on system health things over vanity metrics and raw growth numbers.

    1. # of visitors to our marketing website
    2. # of conversions from visitors to beta user signups

Our project is Cruu. Are you a React engineer and do you hate hand-coding CSS and HTML? Cruu.io automates this process so you can work on the fun stuff instead.

    Great question Will! I check:

    • Google Analytics,
    • Engagement levels on my social media posts and blog post from the day before, and
    • Newsletter open and click-through rates.

    Nice topic!

My project is Plausible Analytics, a simple and lightweight alternative to Google Analytics. These are the key stats that I look at constantly :-)

    • Website traffic including referral sources using our own live web analytics demo
    • Number of trial signups (same as above)
    • Number of conversions from trial to paid customer (using the data from our payment processor)

I do a lot of other monitoring to see what people are talking about on social media and in different niche communities but the above are the main metrics that should show the results of all the marketing efforts around the web.

    Google analytics - Scroll depth
Will help understand how far/how much of the content you publish your users are actually reading.
Hotjar is a great one too
