What are the next big AI businesses us indie hackers can build?

I'm interested in starting a new project with GTP3. With Jasper.ai raising at over a $1.7b valuation, what opportunities are there to make the next Jasper?

I know that open source GTP3 models are just around the corner, and stable diffusion and DALLE-2 have obvious disruption potential. But, what are the lesser known opportunities in AI that we can build around?

I don't think there is much space for a new AI writing tool. I made a list of them and there are already 33 in my spreadsheet - https://bit.ly/bestAIwritingTools

I do think that niche applications could be interesting.

A play for kids to write stories and then generate visuals for those stories could be very interesting.

Great collection. I added my own tool https://elephas.app

Hmmm, what about niche writing tools for specific use cases. My idea is to create one specifically for sales professionals who write tones of emails everyday. You could definitely fine tune for sales outreach and make a gmail app.

Good idea for a kids interactive storybook app! You could probably build that out in a weekend. Great print on demand opportunity.

Niche could work. Check the list there are already some AI email writers for sales out there.

interpreting user analytics / parsing them down to important insights using AI is largely unsolved for small-to-mid-sized customers

GTP3 is a text completion/generation model. So you would be limited in creating AI product that works or creates text.

A variation of what @joshdance proposed - children bedtime story generation based on the prompt that child himself provides would be fairly simple and interesting enough. Add in nice voice for text-to speech and you got yourself a cool app.

A tiny bit more complex and cooler service could be news delivery in the style that you personally like (think Snoop Dog reading your news or on the opposite - news that are pure facts and numbers).

AI powered flirting text generator might be interesting for the ones who run out of things to say to help them move conversation along.

I like the news delivery idea, would love to try that one out if someone build it. FWIW… https://www.linkedin.com/posts/byhazellim_buildinpublic-indiedev-ai-activity-6989147250216050688-sF7v This was me asking the exact question the other day.

A.I is a tool, not a business model.

Find what people needs / wants, and if the solution is A.I use A.I, but don't use AI for the sake of it.

Focusing on the technical only is the quickest way to get a product no one wants.

(Doesn't apply if you're just curious / want to learn A.I tho, but it's a hobby then, not a business)

My friend @sukh is building Stable Diffusion inside Figma, basically a text to image plugin, appropriately called Text2Image. He's using it more for Facebook ad creatives but it can be used for any niche really.
