Hey IndieHackers 👋
I'm compiling a list of resources for Product launches.
Share the no-code tools you use to build landing pages for your product launches in the comments 👇
It will help me build the list.
I'm using Webflow and it's so powerful
Awesome!!
What are the features you like on Webflow and what plan you're on?
I've built my own personal website (https://adineh.me) , and landing for the company I'm working with (https://sparrowcharts.com), and currently building my side project (Design Frens) landing pages on Webflow too.
Mostly "CMS" would be the right plan to choose ($16/month)
I really like how scalable and powerful it is, the automation you can do without coding, the cool animations, the easy-to-use CMS, the great UX of course.
What you've been using so far? and what's your experience?
I've used Elementor, Softr, Carrd, and Dorik. And this is what I've felt.
WordPress + Elementor: Might be overwhelming for the beginners as it a website builder. I'm comfortable with it as I'm wordpress for more than 5 years.
Softr: Better for resource websites. The design and components are limited. But if you want to launch an MVP like a directory Softr will do the job for you.
Carrd: Best for landing pages if you're starting out. It is so seamless and more affordable than all the tools
Dorik: Easy to use, wide design options and component structure is good. Overall a decent builder.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
@Just_Karthik I recently launched my first Indie SaaS: https://semlanding.com/
It's a niched landing page builder for Google Ads campaigns.
Just put in your Google ads headlines and a landing page with full content is generated using AI (GPT-3). Right now we only have one plan aimed at marketing agencies but I'm planning on adding more plans soon that's more affordable.
Would be great to see it make it on your list :)
Really cool concept! And a real steep price tag!
Thanks!
So you generate complete landing pages based on ads? So instead of starting with a landing page and then ads, you start with the ads and automate the landing page for it?
I'm really interested in an example of how this works and what the benefits are.
@Thomasvarekamp Precisely, you nailed the concept :) I'll drop you an email!
Idea is great man! Will checkout for sure and try to build something too 😉
Thanks! Ping me for a discount code if you'd like to try it out (there's also a 7 day free trail by default) :)
Sure quist. Will message you when i start building.
@volkandkaya
Webflow for sureeeee
What makes you choose Webflow over other tools?
Little biased but Versoly
It comes with a bunch of free templates + 300 blocks so you can customise the landing page around content, not forced to create copy to fit the design.
You've built an amazing tool man. I will check Versoly for sure and add to the directory.
Thanks!
Let me know when you ship it.
Sure man!! Thanks for sharing the builders.
I use good ol wordpress :)
You and me and about 30% of everyone on the internet. Hard to imagine needing anything else.
I love WordPress, that is the first website builder I learnt and used to build websites. I'm still using that for our new project too.
Elementor and wp working well for me
The OGs of Website Builders
+1 for webflow!
For a landing page to evaluate a SaaS idea mixo.io is great.
We actually have partnered up with them and you can profit from our partner offer at https://supastarter.dev/partners.
Thanks for sharing Jonathan. Will checkout mixo.
Also what is your take on popular Landing page builders like carrd, type dream, and dorik
How about Notion & Oopy?
Here is the template and references.
https://www.jupiter.day/welcome
https://leejuneoh.oopy.io/
https://ajcf.oopy.io/
https://www.oopy.us?v=f19f6254a52340ce8187349e5a24bb72
I thought oopy is for websites. Will checkout oopy then. Thanks for sharing 🤗
Bubble.io is a great app for designing interfaces. It's very useful, fast, and intuitive. I recommend it to anyone who needs to design a website or a mobile app.
But if we're talking about creating landing pages, it also involves getting feedback from out people, for which I built my own tool ruttl to help people effectively build websites and landing pages.
Arrggggh! Every time I think I've got them all covered another one slips past!🤦🏻♂️
Thought I had the top 20 LP builders chosen...somehow I missed Bubble.io - and at 2.3mm users, that's a big miss on my part. Thanks @harshvijay!
Ruttl looks amazing Harsh. I know the pain of getting feedbacks from the team members.
Thanks for sharing 🤗
Also, have you used any builder for building ruttl landing page?
Wow you have a beautiful landing page! How did you do the design and animations?
I used Carrd at first, but promptly switched to WordPress + Elementor (see it here).
The reason being that I wanted the landing page to be on the same site as the blog, and WordPress makes that insanely simple.
I can understand...i've also thought to build directoy on softr first, but as my website is built on wordpress. I've used custom post type and building the directory on wordpress itself.
Having all sites under one umbrella is better.
Maybe try the Odoo website builder. It's free with custom Domain (they even pay for the first year of the domain).
Odoo is a Belgian scale up/unicorn offering an open source erp, and they hope to upsell once you need more services/apps. One service, e.g. website builder, is free forever. In my eyes comparable to squarespace and Weebly.
Haven't heard about this. Thanks for sharing i will look into odoo too.
I used carrd builder for this https://layoutswitcher.carrd.co
The landing page looks on point without any BS.
BTW, Layout swicther is such a cool product Pradeep. Is this only for mac?
yes. Window has its own layout switcher.
Never knew that, thanks for sharing. Will try that.
If you need something a bit more complex than a landing a page, for example a SaaS web-app with API and database connectivity such as https://igc.evalio.io/en was built with dexla.io.
Dexla looks good, Thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking for landing page builder as of now, but If I'm building any web app related, I will surely consider Dexla
Shopify when selling stuff. It's great!
The OG's of Ecommerce!! But isn't Shopify a bit overwhelming for a beginner if he/she just wants to build a landing page.
How do we define landing page? If we want something that can lead the user to a purchase/other pages, Shopify is a good platform imo. If we just want to present information, agreed, Shopify is overkill.
Yeah, makes sense. With Shopify, we don't need to worry about their party checkout options. Thanks for sharing your suggestions John
Here's a good list I wrote along with price point and use case! Hope it's helpful
https://thediscourse.co/p/no-code-landing-page-builders
Thanks for sharing the list Kavir, will check this out.
Also, I've started running a newsletter on Substack recently, could you share any tips to grow that?
Sure! I wrote a few learnings when I reached 100 subs https://twitter.com/kavirkaycee/status/1291768993372450817
Thanks a lot Kavit sharing, will check the thread.
popsy.co
Website builder with a Notion-like editor for quick landing pages & personal sites. Super fast set-up & ease of use 🤝
Sure Gal, how will I forget Popsy. Our Notion website is entirely built on Popsy. it's an amazing builder for Notion.
Thanks, yeah! Although we started out with a Notion-to-website builder, I think the real deal is the standalone Notion-like editor. Works exactly like Notion, but is optimized for website building.
Yeah, I've checked that Gal!! Thanks for sharing
I built knowledgehunt on Softr.io
Knowledge hunt looks good Tonike. Seems like you're on a pro plan. Is softr pro better than Glide pro?
Not sure about Glide tbh
Okay, What are the features you are using in Softr pro plan?
I started with Softr because it was easiest to integrate with Airtaible and create directory. I use main ones, like user registration and other simple pages.
Softr is good for testing MVP, not for the growth stage definitely.
Okay, makes sense. I've used softr free, but moved to wordpress as my website is built with wordpress.
If you're moving from softr, what are the platforms you consider?
I now hired a designer to draw a design in Figma.
I am thinking of building it in Bubble. Any other suggestions?
If you got the figma design, i think it is easy to build with framer. Heard somewhere, haven't tried it though.
I really enjoyed using unicorn platform. I think the balance between between usability (learning curve, quality of templates), customisability and pricing is really good. Used it for that and for the download feature that allows to host your site wherever you want.
Hearing it for the first time, Thanks for sharing this. Will check unicorn platform.
How about a bot that provides value in exchange for email and contact info
That's an amazing idea proli, I thought of the same at first. But the catch is chatbots are a bit costly. As I'm not focused on monetizing this right now, I'm building with a landing page.
BTW, if you know any chatbot that does this job for free, please share them. I will check them out.
I am fully from a non tech background, So Webflow is my go to choice for landing pages.
Me too bro!!
But isn't webflow a bit complex when compared to other landing page builders like Carrd or Dorik as they are specially made for landing pages?
@Just_Karthik yes I agree but i am use to figma alot...so the learning curve was not too much for me that being said Dorik is easy from webflow..!!
Makes sense Anjanesh!! Thanks for sharing the tools.
I personally like Webflow because it gives me a lot of flexibility but it has a learning curve. It might be worth checking out Typedream!
Yeah, hearing Typedream a lot these days. What are the features you like in Typedream.
Mostly the Notion ui because I'm familiar with Notion.
I'm working on a builder that allows you to create a page in a matter of minutes. Would really appreciate any coverage! :)
Limey.io
Love the name!! Limey looks good, will add Limey to our directory for sure. And all the best for Limey
Thanks! :)
https://umso.com
https://dorik.com
those are my choices
Thanks for sharing Knight. I tried Dorik some time back, liked the container settings in it. What are the features you like umso?
build in form & analytics & blog features
Thanks for sharing your suggestions man.
I found most of them, even Carrd, still took me too long to ship an idea so built my own called Yep.so - would be grateful for a mention in your list!
I'm a huge fan of yep.so buddy, validating an idea is so instant. But, Isn't Yep built for validating an idea? like there are some limitations to design, right? or am I missing something?
Thanks, happy you've heard of it!
Correct - designs are limited but that doesn't mean you couldn't launch or pre-launch a product with it. I've got quite a few people who use it as a sales page for an info product on Gumroad for example.
Got it!! That's amazing man. Will explore yep dot so more now. Thanks for sharing this.
Squarespace: V7.0 has “Cover Pages”, a perfect landing page feature now deprecated in 7.1. The later can still be used but you need to add custom CSS code to remove the header and footer, which breaks the no-code rule.
Carrd: The one to rule them all. Ideal for any simple website. Has all the tracking and embeds needed. Super good value.
Ohh okay, I don't know that we can build landing pages with Sqaurespace, thanks for sharing. Will look into it.
Recently I was experimenting with framer.com - It's really simple and powerful tool.
Also, carrd.co is also cool and simple to use.
Yeah, Carrd is so easy to use.
What made you choose Framer? More design flexibility or any other reasons?
No specific reason, just exploring possibilities with Framer. I think I tried most of no-code builders.
Some of them:
You're amazing man!!
One more question, out of all these builders what is your go-to builder when you're launching your product
Depends what I need, I recently launched Panotive.com, and I didn't use any builder. But, if you need something really simple and fast I would recommend Carrd.co
Thanks for sharing your suggestions Jota.
BTW, Panotive website looks awesome Jota. Liked the gaming theme 😍
Webflow is the best option! I used a lot of different tools like Typedream (YC), wix, squarespace but Webflow feels like the most complete option. If you are looking to build something quick with the trendy SaaS brand guidelines Typedream is your next best option!
I have just made a new website (https://generateplant.com/) and use builder. any one who can look at it and guide me because i'm new in this field
I am currently using Softr, but looking for a better alternative.
WordPress!
Kak srat'?
Used bubble.io and a template to build VCbackME.com!
I highly recommend Systeme.io and Carrd
I've just built my blog https://eyupcanpoyraz.com/ via Framer.com and it is super easy to use, definitely no need to code. I used to use Webflow but it is much more complicated. If you haven't tried yet, I highly recommend. Cheers
Definitely adding this one to the list...love what they have done with their SEO implementations...
I use Webflow to build my page, but I have also used my own tool (SpreadShare) to add something a little extra to help convince visitors :)
