I've analyzed all IndieHackers interviews hoping to find a consistent answer to this question. There were the top 5 mentioned acquisition channels:

    1. SEO (after getting results with another acquisition channel). Mentions: 83
    2. Marketplaces & Existing Platforms. Mentions: 77
    3. Product Hunt. Mentions: 77
    4. (sub)Reddit posting. Mentions: 44
    5. Cold email outreach. Mentions: 42

Hope to do a post on this soon but basically, it all comes down to being visible on a place where your (potential) users are hanging out/searching for information/etc.

Very good question to ask. What most founders or developers still undervalue and ignore is building an audience for their product early on.

I'm currently "building in public" on Twitter and it's turning out better than I expected. My idea was to "Launch a SaaS project in 30 daily tweet updates" and I'm updating the thread with my daily progress.

Started with zero real followers 10 days ago and found the first customer on Day 4 and gained the first almost 100 followers by now.
